  1. Just got word, Booker is a go for Friday. I think Vandy and Ole Miss are coming to get a sneak peek. Eventhough we are three games in, he could be a Mr. Football candidate!
  2. The best way to stop a high scoring offense is to keep them off of the field. The LCA offense is designed to eat up the clock with 4 or 5 yards at a time. I think that both teams played pretty poorly. LCA was in the DBCS redzone several times only to be stopped. You can't really blame officiating, it is a judgement call and is the nature of the game. From what I hear, DBCS is having trouble stopping the run between the tackles. That isn't good when you play a team like LCA who primarily runs between the tackles. Also, size was not an asset last year on the line as changes were made midyear to get those kids out. They were really not playing well. This year LCA is smaller up fornt but quicker and stronger. It should be a great game. Best of luck to both teams!
  3. Since we are grading papers here, maybe you should start a sentence with a capital? I am not assuming I know what people said, I actually took it right from their words so I don't have to assume. Don't count the chickens before they hatch, as was the case here were most posters predicted a big win but instead DBCS got hammered. So before DBCS lays out the calender and marks all of their wins and score predictions, maybe they should play the games first.
  4. Every coach and player should be expecting to win every game. If not your competitive desire is suspect. The problem is things happen. Last year LCA started off 5-1 and then finished 5-5 because they didn't have depth being a small school and 11 starters were hurt by years end. They got beat by teams they should have killed i.e. sewanee and Pickett County. Be careful picking because teams have to play the game first before you can award a victory.
  5. Who bouces back from dismal starts? The question remains is Marcus Booker eligible yet.
  6. How can some of you guys call this a nailbiter? If I am correct didn't DBCS lose 50-26???
  7. The offense that LCA runs is a modified double wing. Sorry, it is not a clone of every other copycat coach in Tennessee. You will not see the spread offense. But hey guess what, the hand the ball off while everyone runs forward offense holds the highschool record for scoring in a season. So all of you Spurrier fans can check out in CA and see what teams are running the double wing. LCA is much improved from last season though I believe that DBCS will probably be the best competition that LCA will face all year. I think that if LCA can eliminate the big play, then they will keep it close and win. DBCS remember what your program was a few years back, it was terrible. SO now if you lose to a second year team, what does that say about you? LCA has nothing to lose here. LCA 18 DBCS 14 Go Knights
  8. My prediction almost came to fruition as I said LCA 44-0 over PC. I'll take 38-0. I mean this in the best way possible, PC should probably drop football until they can field more than 13 or 14 kids. To be honest it wasn't even fun watching the game because I really felt bad for PC. If you saw the game though, you will have noticed that LCA is not a "bush" team and the game was not closer than most might think as some of you poster put on here. LCA could have drove all night on the Bobcats and really ran it up but decided against it unlike last year's 2nd game. Good luck to both teams next week.
  9. I don't know anything about Monterray but MJCA is improved from last year. They still play in the toughest region in football which will translate into maybe 3 wins but they shouldn't be getting blown out by 40 and 50 this year. MJCA has trouble stopiing the run though giving up over 500 against LCA. Monterray should do fien just to pound it, grind up yards, waste clock and come up with a win. If they try to get fancy get away from their game, MJCA's offense is talented enough to score points. It will be interesting to see the result for this one.
  10. The fact that they even would mention that is absurd. Wilson County teachers are already the lowest paid in the area, have higher benefit co-pays than surrounding counties and also have fairly popluar sports teams. The last point being that they are sure to generate revenue through their sport programs. I think that their bluff should be called and see what they do when they get no revenue from games and get mobbed by parents of high school and middle school athletes. Doesn't Mt. Juliet have the highest population of millionaires? Gas is already 10 cent per gallon higher in Wilson County. Where is that money going??? Plus there is a 10,000 dollar builders permit fee on any new construction. Where is that money going??? Sounds like some serious corruption. Its a shame that kids are just being used as pawns here.
  11. I wasn't going to address this but now I must. I did not misquote scripture. We are made righteous when we accpet Christ, so if I am angered by actions of the unjust, my response had better be righteous anger. Try reading Dr. Clouds' 9 principles, especially the one about hating well. That is why we have so many ills today, because Christians sit on the sidelines while being mocked and persecuted AND criticized by OTHER Christians instead of confronting the problem in the first place. The most misquoted verse in the Bible is when people say we should always "turn the other cheek" as Christians, and in a sense become a doormat for the world. So if you sleep better at nigtht by being a coward and not fighting for what you believe than so be it. You will fit right in with the other 90 percent of Christians who practice your theology. David did not turn the other cheek, he cut off Goliath's head. Upon Jesus' glorious reappearng, he will come with a sceptor dipped in blood, not a message board calling out other Christians. God Bless
  12. What would people think if they knew that I was a Jesus Freak??? Anyway, aside from the sermon on the mount from BBALLjones, to say that a 6-0 score against the 0-whatever RBS bulldogs is misleading or does not tell the whole story is kind of crazy. Last year LCA beat RBS 12-3 and it was 6-3 until a kid took a pick 6 at the end of the game. The score was not misleading, RBS gave LCA all they could handle and after the game, coach bolles said that it was the best game they played in a long time. To say the score was misleading would be a lie and a discredit to the effort that RBS gave. Bottom line is Pickett has displayed low class actions. It is one thing for kids to act like kids, it is a whole different story when it comes from the top down. Coach W can try to squeeze his way out of the game Tonight by claiming that Travis Tritt is shooting a video with their school bus but it won't fly in Smyrna. God Bless
  13. I believe that you are making too many assumptions. I will try to answer them one by one. Firstly, I hold no ill feeligns towards PC. I am just stating facts. I even said in another post that coaches have to be careful running the score up because it comes back to bite them. The other point I was trying to make was that people feel that Christians should never get angry or it makes them "unChristian". I stand by what I said because it was completely classless what happen to those kids from LCA and that coach from PC taught his boys a life lesson on how to show your butt. It is OK to be angry when God's people are challanged. Honestly, I can't believe your so worried about checking the scriptures John Hagee when the whole point is that the kids from LCA were treated poorly. How about condemning actions from a poor role model rather than trying to explain what righteous anger is. God Bless
  14. Are you referring to the two previous times PC and LCA played? I can tell you first hand the story of both games. LCA beat pickett 33-6 and turned the ball over 6 times in pickett territory and then kneeled down inside the picket 10 to end the game in the first match. Pickett had 1 or 2 injuries during the game but it would not have changed the course of the game, it wasn't even close with or without them. And then the PC kids posted quiestionable material on the Internet about the LCA program after that game. The second game was a blowout as LCA had 8 starters hurt and 11 total players out with injuries. PC up 35-6 at half kicked an onsides kick to start the 3rd quarter and was throwing deep bombs at the end of the game up big. Coach Walker attributed that play to kids rambling on Coach t. That is BUSH LEAGUE. Not to mention the coach had the LCA kids change in a baseball urinal outside after the teh Principal of the school offered the team the gym to change in. Totally classless. Say what you want about how close this game will be, only time will tell but I still Coach Greene from LCA will be all class in that game despite the poor showing of the PC staff. What's funny is people question a school's Christianity when Christians get upset. Last time I checked, Jesus threw tables over in the midst of sin. GO KNIGHTS!
  15. I read somewhere on Coacht that the coach from PC made the boys from Lancaster change in a 1 stall urinal and then did some "bush league" stuff during the game??? I hope that PC can back up that kind of stuff up because it comes back to bite you later on .
  16. Every year its the same from RBS. The only reason people are talking is because of the new coach, and to be honest I don't even know his name. I believe he was an assisstant from last year. Again, RBS's only chance for a W was against Pickett and they lost. The rest of their schedule is too tough. to even say that RBS has a chance against G'Ville is laughable especially after losing to PC. PC is for lack of a better term, terrible. RBS had a better team last year, but the coaching was not all that good. Once RBS is sitting at 0-4 or 0-5, all of the talk will die down and it will be football as usual in middle Tennessee.
  17. I agree with mo$$$$. RBS lost to a very poor Pickett Counth team. Sorry RBS but I think that your only chance for a W just left last Friday. The next closest thing is MJCA but even they are much improved from last year. G'Ville by 4 TD's easy.
  18. LCA looked real strong against MJCA in a 49-19 blowout, but then played a close one with a 9-8 victory to an unknown in Faith Covenant from Alabama. Pickett beat RBS 6-0 last Friday, from what I hear, both PC and RBS took a step back this year so I am going to go with LCA in an easy victory over PC. People might make a case that a healthy PC beat LCA 48-12 last year but LCA had over 11 starters injured in that final game and LCA has added some talented depth this year. I think that LCA will roll to a victory 44-0. LCA will be looking for payback for many reasons.
  19. Lets say my information was from a reliable source, like one of the Zion coaches. Again like I said, scrimmages can be deceiving. From what I understand, the scrimmage was very controlled and it allowed RBS to appear competitive. I don't have any interest in either team, just reporting what I hear. However, I do hope that Pickett gets beat by RBS. I am not a huge fan of PC or their staff.
  20. The scrimmages can be very deceiving. I think RBS scrimmaged a freshman team and then they got whipped by Zion Christian. Someone posted a 49-35 RBS victory in that scrimmage and I read somewhere that it was actually 30-6 in favor of Zion and also that Zion took it easy on RBS. Way too much is made of scrimmages. I don't intend to be negative on RBS, I just think that some misinformation has been spread to generate some interest. They should be improved but I don't see them competing in the Blue Cross bowl. Their region is one of the best in TN for small schools.
  21. I agree. I hear that Pickett switched to a spread attack. With only one or two decent players it is hard to run a spread. I think that RBS ends the losing streak against Pickett but it will not be a high scoring affair. Neither team seems to have much in the way of depth or talent but again, from what I hear, PC only is dressing 13 or 14 kids. RBS should be able to outlast them. Good luck to both teams
  22. Did anybody see the Knights play MJCA? I saw the score and and looked to be a blowout? I wish that program (LCA) well as I have alot of respect for their head coach. Any predictions for the LCA-Pickett county game? I think LCA plays an Alabama squad this week but will have their home opener against the Bobcats in two weeks. Good luck both teams. GO KNIGHTS
  23. Has anyone heard anything about Pickett County? I know they scrimmaged a few teams and switched to the spread but last I heard, they only had like 13 kids on the team. Sounds like some forfeits in the making. I am looking forward to the LCA-Pickett game, I think that LCA has payback on their minds. Good luck all teams to the start of a great HS football season!!!
