Oh you are taking me wrong...I dont think RW is an idiot at all....I'm just afraid predicting too far ahead creates the stage for bad karma to rear its head. Course Im an old school baseball guy and you know how superstitious we are? Im as excited as the next guy about our team this year and hope this IS our year finally. No high school deserves it more than ours!!!! And RW, I actually enjoy your posts.....you certainly post with substance....just don't jinx us....lol

Amen HCFan...I probably haven't posted in over a year, in fact I had to go through the password recovery process in order to post this. I'm sure RW enjoys stirring the drama on here and uses this board as an entertainment venue for himself, because we all know the REAL coaches have not looked past the CURRENT upcoming friday for second. I suppose he was the ONE coach that wasn't superstitious or else he is trying to jinx us. As such an "experienced former coach" we all know he should know better.....maybe he isn't a henry county fan and all this time his posting has been a conspiracy. lol

Henry County has a freshman who has started every game this season who has been their primary lead off hitter. His name is Thomas Bomar and he is the real deal. At least up until recently(not sure if still is) he was leading the team in batting avg.

Perhaps he was trying ensure the run rule? Not knowing the circumstances it could be any number of factors. It is getting closer to the postseason, and perhaps his pitching is running thin and was trying to not use his bullpen. Or maybe he is a jerk who cares more about run differential than baseball etiquette.

This type of issue has been going on for a number of years. At least here in HenryLand but guessing happens other places too. Yeah I know, and I am really a supporter of Counce. He was coaching here when I was in high school. I just say he needs to support the other sports as well as his sport gets supported. Who knows at this age which sport may carry this kid to college. The kids future should be just the most important thing.

Well a little controversy stirring already with the new coach. Here it is baseball season and the coach is already telling a freshman football/baseball player not to throw any curveballs even though he is a pitcher and its in the middle of the season.

Well according to the PI we will know Thursday.

AMEN Yanker!! The reason you have kind of a celebrity-type status on here is because no one can match your unique, passive-aggressive, but very competent perspectives. Its hard for the Henry Countians to keep their "feelings" out of their posts, thus your objective viewpoint is always looked forward to by me. The program will be fine but many will still complain. Gets to the point of ridiculous sometimes in Paris, but think its become kind of a cultural thing or something. Lol. Don't get me wrong, the passion here in Paris is awesome, and I would rather have the drama than the dead program we had not so long ago.

I don't read that as against Counce but who knows the intent. Markum would be stepping into something TOTALLY different if he got the job. I would think he could do it, but there is a WORLD of difference in running a middle school program and running a big time high school program. Take it from a guy who has done both. Oh by no means was that meant against Counce. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough. Counce did not fumble the ball on the goal line, it was the fullback. Going undefeated up to that moment was Counce's fault. lol

My honest opinion....UC's coach used to do instructional training to a few of my travel ball kids a couple of years ago, including my son. My son and 2 other of the kids he trained have made their high school team as freshmen this year. My son and one other are playing varsity already as freshmen. UC's coach is a former college star and minor leaguer. He is a sure baseball man who worked very well with my kids and really taught them alot that winter. My travel ball team won a state championship that following summer and won a world series championship last year as 13 year olds. Unless there is some administrative thing going on at the school that I am unaware of, I would say your son is in fine hands with Jeremy.

I'm a fence straddler in the arguement for who would be best fitted for the head coach job. But, I will remind you that Counce, SR was the coach of the '85 team that went 10-0 in the regular season only to lose a heart breaker in state playoffs to a Whites Creek team on a fumble at the goal line that would have likely won the game for HC. That team produced a senior squad that sent one player to Auburn and later on to an NFL career; one to MTSU; one to Troy St; one to Lambuth; and one to Murray State. There were two juniors on that squad that went on to MTSU and one to Lambuth as well, and I am probably leaving someone out. If Counce is chosen, I don't believe it can be a bad decision, not saying there are not other good options.

Hello from Henry Co land. Henry County beat Springfield Monday at Henry County by a score of 10-0 in 5 innings. The rematch scheduled for Tuesday was cancelled and is being played today in Springfield.

For those of you who dont remember, Markum has already had a stint at the high school several years back.....not as the head coach but as an assistant. He went back to Inman where I believe he prefers to be. He has been extremely successful for many many years. I personally think it may hurt to see him leave a position where he not been given the credit he deserves in preparing future high school players when they are most impressionable. He deserves as much credit for the talent seen recently at the high school as Gaddis in my opinion. He would be a great high school coach, but hate to see him leave a vital role he has at Inman too.

Riverside played Henry Co Tuesday night in a wooden bat tourny in Camden. I personally saw the Gant kid hit 89 once on the radar gun, and consistently hit 86.

From what I heard from a very reliable source, it is indeed true.

HE is the one who is confused. He can't remember which screen name he is using. He can't remember which team he is for this time. He can't remember if he is coaching at NW, NE, Springfield, or somewhere in Kentucky. LOL.
