  1. I wish Coach Brown and York the best of luck, but shouldn't this be on the 3A forum?
  2. Thanks. That's about how I figured it would go. Wanted to come but had to stack a bunch of hay before it rained.
  3. How did the LCA / RBS contest go?
  4. I was told that they picked up a few experienced football players via transfer students. I'm afraid that they will need several of them to make an impact though.
  5. How did the Clay County scrimmage go on Friday? I wanted to make the trip over from Celina, but didn't get the chance.
  6. District 7 is anybody's to take this year. With the district championship finally meaning something for the first time in years you can bet that those games will be intense. I'd have to give an edge to Monterey to win the district I guess. Coach Loftis and Jackson County could just as easily walk away with the title. Clay County will be the dark horse of the group with several starters that are inexperienced at the varsity level, however I expect new coach Chad Barger to quickly pump some life into their program. Pickett will no doubt put up a hard fight as they always do, but I don't think they will be able beat one of the other three.
  7. What will the date be for the jamboree? August 17th?
  8. Week 0 - Bye Week 1 - East Robertson Week 2 - Monterey Week 3 - Upperman Week 4 - Jackson County Week 5 - Red Boiling Springs Week 6 - Pickett County Week 7 - Whitwell Week 8 - Lancaster Christian Week 9 - Clinton County, KY Week 10 - Macon County
  9. Clay County High School let head coach Bobby Majors go after one season. They will be looking for their 6th head coach in the last 13 seasons. Maybe having the opportunity to get away from District 8 on the schedule for the first time in years will encourage somebody decent to take a chance on this program.
  10. RBS is certainly capable of beating Clay. I think that Clay's boys are hungrier for the win though, coming in at 0-4. Time will tell I suppose. There's one thing about it, Coach Shoulders has breathed life into that program. Having someone in charge that has energy and hasn't fallen into the losing mentality has helped their program.
  11. Thanks a lot BluBellz! You're absolutely right our visitor seating is a disgrace. I guess they cut the budget there. This game is at Friendship though, just in case you didn't know.
  12. Games like this one make me yearn for the old day's when we used to beat FCS. Until the region was reorganized, around 2001, the Bulldogs were 6-0 against Friendship. However, 2001-2011 has seen 11 straight wins for the Commanders. This year, Clay's run defense is suspect to giving up a lot of yards. I'm sure that Long, Mitchell, and the receiving crew will have their plays as well. I'm interested to see how big a passing game they will have. The Bulldogs need to fight hard every play and focus on the bright spots they might have in this one, because they aren't at the level of the Commanders anymore.
  13. I've noticed the same thing, its kind of strange. Good luck to the Bulldogs. I hope you guys pull off the upset.
  14. They will have to Croz. There is only one assistant that is employed by the school system and he isn't being looked at for the job. There will definitely be new blood. I'm like you though, I hope they are good and will be a good fit for the community.
  15. Clay County's head coach resigned this week. This leaves them looking for their 9th head coach in 20 years.
  16. Man! I'm not surprised FCS has ten, but I can't believe the defensive stand they must be putting together to hold the Jackets like that.
  17. Keep it updated boys. I didn't get a chance to go and my darn radio won't pick up 1090 AM.
  18. Yeah, there were definitely some sloppy and inappropriate penalties on both sides. I think CCHS had 9 for 125 and GHS had 5 for 70. I just wish that CCHS's tightend had caught that wide open pass in the 2nd quarter. 14 to 7 woulda been nice at the half. Plus that questionable pass interference call on 4th down in the 2nd set up Gville for an easy score. Really shoulda been 7-7 at the half. Watson is too good behind that big O-line though. He coulda scored from anywhere on the field if they would have had more oppurtunities. I know Gville wasn't fired up for this one, but I thought Clay played a good first half. I sure hope the Tigers make a great postseason run. I love to see our region foes do well in the playoffs, even if my Bulldogs never make it.
  19. Yep, you're right I remember Ford. He was definitely a unique player for the classification. Oh, and by the way, thanks for straightening me out about CCHS being bad and GHS being good. I guess I had forgotten that obvious fact.
  20. Yeah, I knew he was a junior. He sure is an impressive ball player. I've not seen a kid like that in this neck of the woods for a day or two.
  21. Croz has big old number 53 for you guys had interest from any bigger colleges? He seems like the kind of young man who has the size, strength, and agility to play some serious ball on Saturdays.

  23. Sonny Moore's Power Rankings has Gordonsville winning by 34 points. Massey had you guys buy 36 so it seems the jury has come to their verdict. I will go with Sonny Moore's prediction though. This would make my prediction of no mercy rule come true (small victory).
  24. No problem. If I hear anything different I will let you know. I just hope that stuff don't happen again in basketball. It would be a shame to lose the gate money from the games between these two schools. Plus it makes our schools look like poor sportsmen, when week in and week out I know that neither of our programs are that way.
  25. As far as I know the game was counted as a win for Clay, but they may have changed that. The TSSAA still has the win counted on the Playoff Standings page though.
