Didnt jasper beat grundy at grundy. Just a thought. If the boys from coalmont are all that dont you think they could have won that one. seeing how the big kid from jasper is overrated according to some coalmont shouldnt have had any trouble winning that game. Personally i think the cartwright kid from sequatchie is the best player in the valley and any team with him in the mix would be a good team. my picks would go as follows: numbered by postion 1. Daniel Cartwright 2. T. Robinson. 3. Fults 4. J. Fennel 5. C. Henegar. There are alot of good players out there but those are just some that stuck in my mind. Cartwright will have the point guard spot for the next 3 years in the valley. He is that good. Dont really have much on coaches though. if you had to choose, Jason Smith would take the head coach's spot just out of experience. The others need more time. Most assistants are there to fill a spot so who knows there. Any suggestions.

If i remember from some of the previous post from the past years games. It has been sad that Sp could play with anyone. Even the great Maryville and Alcoa. Alot of trash talking about polk co i guess upset the team from benton and they decided to just but sp in the mouth. look awful good to come to beeny stadium and get a win. When is the last time sp has had 2 losses in one year. Doesnt look too good vic now does it. Man with all the trouble he was in this summer and now 2 losses, he should really watch his back with wilson in the school now. We all know the dirty deeds that had to occur to get wilson a coaching position.

I just love it. I really thought SP was better than this. Goes to prove they need to stay down in 1a.

Dont really know what i need to craw(fish) on but if you will enlighten me as to what you are referring to I will do my best to help you out on what i am trying to say. I just think that OP is behind the Pirates when they are doing the city some good and winning. When they are down he kicks em. Better tighten up the slack on that jock strap Op. Go back and read your post, you have repeatedly talked about the basketball team and how they need a new direction and that something needs to be done. Undisciplined is one word that comes to mind. And to repeatedly comment that fence jumpers have caused Marion's team to profit and If Ands or Buts about Muir Henegar or Brooks, when you seem to put your blinders on to the fact that SPHS athletics is full of fence jumpers from Stevenson or Bridgeport. Even years ago Tim Starkey and his little Brother Marcus were seen in Jasper Middle School going to school and involved in sports. Raquis Hale here recently just came to SP after years at Jasper Middle. What would have really happened if they had all stayed north. If ands or butts OP. you finally come clean and show some support for the basketball team after they win a few games. You will never make yourself believe that SP is full of fence jumpers. Just as you will never admit that Trousdale County was the better team. The Pitt is full of people that believe they are the only school in the valley and that they deserve more than the rest. You people cant even finish the Princess Theater. A priceless piece of Property that is older than any one still living and you cant raise the money to finish it., but you could raise almost $100,000 to waste on additives to the gymnnasium where only 20% of the population of the school and community will ever see inside of it. Come on is there any more i can say to you OP. She really needs to hit you in a different spot with that skillet.

Is this really happening? Is this the same fans and posters that were on here during SP's 2nd run on the gold ball only to come up short to the hands of a wide out. someone refresh my memory on that game or the games before that where sp football team seemed to show a little lack luster play. Did we see any bashing of the kids or coaching, other than one mad father stating how vic didnt have a clue what he was doing. I dont recall. If i do recall from earlier post about the sp community and how they came together to build the multimillion dollar gym without anyone elses help and how community leaders banded together and put all the extras in there and how it is the nicest thing in marion county and blah blah blah blah blah blah!!!! I really believe these opinion boards are in some form ruining sports in tennessee. players say they dont look at them but come on, they are kids they love these things. to tell the truth as always grownups thru out the county and the state should just shut their mouth if they dont have any thing positive to say. but do they. NO. we hide behind a screen name and just bad mouth anyone we care to. OP sounds like a worn out jock strap--- You keep it until it does you no good! Just like sp football and basketball. as long as they are winning or doing ok he is ok but the minute you get a rip in that strap he is ready to throw you to the garbage. It would do every kid on here some good if OP's wife would fire that head up real good with that skillet once in a while and maybe he will realize that these are just kids and they are led by just coaches and after high school none of this will matter. These same kids will go on and do something with their lives (maybe if they get the chance) but basketball and football will have nothing to do with it for the most part. So go support your local teams and cheer em on or just stay home and shut up!

well was it a blowout or not. the coach at sp better hope it was with all the talk of a blowout and the dedication of the new multi-milllion dollar gym. gonna be different when they come to whitwell next time. tigers will turn things around

I just have to know, what does any of this have to do with anything. You have listed good backs and great backs but what have they done since. Are they at practices helping with the younger kids or supporting them, Probably no. It would be a good idea to not let some of these veterans teach these kids anything, seeing how most are not what some parents would want as role models. I agree with the poster who stated that " Cody Walker just got a head start on what most Pirates do after graduation" Take ten of the greats and tell us what they are doing now and see where they stand in your rankings.

from what i have been hearing the kids aint buying into his program, this year or last year. he is just not disciplined enough to handle the kids he has. i have heard that they need more stucture down at sp in the basketball program and it aint happening. rumor has it that the players quit in alot of games last year. and there was alot parents or grandparents that is, that werent to happy with his coaching style. just to much going on. his teams in marion would have told you he was just to friendly. oh well we will see how he does this year. i think thacker will do some good in whitwell, the boys just need to listen and learn.

is it true that marions assistant coach from last year left and went to so pitt what does that leave marion with who is there assistant now webb

what bout marion, will they win ballgames this year or will they just sqeek by like last year. looks like the got the guyear kid back so that may help them but looks like after him they have nothing but young kids that play scared half the time. who do they have that will make them a top valley team to beat

I tried to go to the open house of the new gymnasium the other day but found out it wasnt open house after all. They were actually having a dinner or something for the boosters or people or businesses that donated almost $90,000 to fund extra things in the new gym. Also heard that one of the board members was highly aggitated that they were having that, but have yet to even say a nice thank you to the ones that made it possible to even build it. I am just wondering if those same donaters would give that much to put extra books or more computers or learning technology into the same school. Probably not but it cant hurt to ask.
