I would not underestimate DB especially in their gym which is a large dome and gives opposing players fits because of the depth perception and the lighting. DB's middle is very good and can take over when she is on the front. Having said that I watched Bearden play in one of the tournaments in Nashville and they are playing very well - would not be surprised either way. I don't see Farragut or CAK having any trouble whatsoever.

You have got to put Malik McGue of Science Hill in this thread. Probably not a QB at the next level, but as far as high school QBs go he has to be one of the best in the state. Ask the folks at Brentwood Academy if the kid can play - I think Science Hill put up 600 + total yards which may have been a record against Brentwood.

Farragut has a good team - but to assume they are going straight to the finals in AAA is a pretty big leap since ravenwood/Brentwood have owned this for the past several years.

Dobyns Bennet beat TN High last night to guarantee themselves a spot in the regionals. Tn high and science hill will play tonight in the finals of the losers bracket to see who moves on to the regionals and will play DB in the championship.

Nope it is a "true" double elimination in District 1 AAA as South has been down that path before. I know the State tournament is different - as we have been down that path as well. I didn't like the state tournament rule as I think it is unfair - but no one asked me.

In District 1 - AA - Sullivan South and Sullivan North will be moving on to the Regionals. Sullivan North beat Sullivan East in a 5 set thriller last night and South beat Elizabethon. The District 1 AA championship is tomorrow night. AAA - This tournament is double elimination so TN HIgh and DB play tonight in the finals of the winners bracket and a regional berth. Science HIll plays Sullivan Central in an elimination match with the winner playing the loser of the TN HIgh DB match. Of course, whoever comes out of the losers bracket has to then win twice to claim the championship.

Better add dyersburg to your list. I think AA is quite a bit deeper than last year.

I just saw Hume Fogg and Sullivan south were in the same pool at Brentwood. Also in that pool is musselman WV who has a MaxPrep all American outside hitter. Don't know anything else about the WV team though. South has been bit by the injury bug this year so not sure exactly who will be available but it is always great competition and should be fun.

I would think CAK fits in that mix somewhere
