  1. Oakland wins by two touchdowns in a runaway.
  2. Yes PBD, I will next time I see ya I will come by and talk.I also agree with blaze.I hope it doesn't rain in this years game lol.
  3. Thanks PBD on that post.Didn't get a chance to talk to you after the playoff game last year.I am glad to hear your son was ok on your post's last year.I saw you and your son at the mtsu blue and white game.Could he possibly be staying at home, and playing for mtsu? I would enjoy watching him here.
  4. Otter, the only 'flaw' with your reasoning is two years ago Coach A had an O-line that ALL got rides at the next level. One of which is at Fla State and even started as a Freshman. What did he do with it and the WingT? 5-5 that year and R'dale did NOT make the playoffs for the first time in 20 years. I was talking about what you said earlier, and that kid which you refer to in this post, his senior year they did not go 5-5 that year.
  5. LOst isn't this what you posted earlier? I was talking about this, not what you had said earlier about the o-line coach.Go back and check out the history of the 2207 team, and you will see the record was not 5-5.
  6. LOD, here we go again just like last year. But first I would like to correct what you said in an earlier post about having the best o-line in the state, and going 5-5 that season. The person that started as a freshman at fla.state the following year, his senior class didn't finish the season at 5-5.That was 2007, and you can double check the record on the warrior website.Nobody talks much about the o-line we had last year, but I feel it will talked about and appreciated more down the road in the future imo.Riverdale scored more points than anyone else in the district last year, plus more run yards than everyone else including Oakland.I am really shocked that nobody has mentioned the new o-line coach Riverdale picked up from Trousdale County. This guy can really coach the blocking technique for a wing-t offense.imo the rest of the district will soon know who he is, if they don't already. He is a winner, and I am really excited to see him in action working with our young men.Oh yeah nobody is talking about the defense, but coach Wells will have them ready I promise you that. With the early schedule starting with two home games against Antioch and Hendersonville, I see a 2-0 start going to Lavergne after that Riverdale has most of their big games at home this season, and after last season, the kid's that are seniors know what it takes to protect their house.Last year's team tought them that.
  7. Thank you Frags for the comments. Now maybe we can stop all the panic and rumors of a total revolt against coach A and his staff.
  8. Just got back from my sources, two quit because they didn't want to play anymore, and the other two were in line to start, but wasn't guaranteed a spot to start.I just don't understand how you can wait three years to play, and then when you have a chance to earn a spot you quit.Tells me you were just along for the ride in hopes of a ring.
  9. I will still like to know the exact number of kid's that have quit.Lost, I am waiting for a number.I feel like the number I posted earlier may be all that actually quit, but I hopefully will get an answer from you later.
  10. I believe Riverdale will be in it again this year.
  11. Lost I agree everyone has an opinion, but I heard of two leaving, that wasn't projected as starters after the spring, so do you know an exact number of players that have left?
  12. I am not sure why you guys are posting about people quiting the team. This is the first time that I have seen anything about people quiting Riverdale football.Let me tell you, kid's quit the program every year here, just like they do in Smyrna, Oakland, and Blackman. They had people quit last year, and still had a winning record. It's not for everyone(football), and most kid's have so many other distractions now. Most of the kid's who play all four years are the one's who really love the game of football.
  13. Thanks PBD, that is exactly the point I was trying to get across.Just ask Blackman, siegel, and especially Oakland who ended their season last year.Riverdale was one of four teams left in the playoffs last year.Well I would just like to say a big thank you to this years graduating class of football seniors. The whole senior class this year brought back the chop to Riverdale, and good luck to everyone in your future endeavors.CAN"T STOP THE CHOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Wow, I can remember those exact words used last year dad.I told everyone on here last year we were going to throw the ball more, and look how far our boys went.Last years senior class showed all the underclassmen how to work hard, come together, and how and most importantly, to win again. Our boys will be good this year, despite whatever you hear or see.As I have also stated in my earlier posts, be very patient with our young Qb this year. This kid will get better each and every week of varsity games. Why do I know this?Well I know what kind of competitor this young man is, and he has the skills and what it takes upstairs(if you know what I mean), and he will never quit until he is one of the best QB's in the county.I know a lot of work needs to be done, and he will happen over the summer.
  15. Guys from what I understand, coach H. and coach A. have been friends for a long time.I wouldn't worry to much about seeing him around. He probably hasn't got started spring yet at Hunter's Lane.Unless he is coming back to coach special teams and running backs?Just a thought.
  16. Elrod I believe is at Hunter's Lane, and he didn't start there until last year, so I really don't see him and coach A coaching together simply because he is with coach H. who was previously at Riverdale, and he is loyal still somewhat to him.Lift-a-thon was last night. No new surprises for me.Thought everyone looked good and strong, but can they play football.I believe they are just fine in that department, as most people will see against Gallatin on May 3.Mr.Nolan will find the right man for the job, just like he did when he hired coach wells last year.I think this year the defense will be a lot faster than last years, from what I have seen.
  17. While I will say that Coach Britton is a good coach, I agree with hoop dad.He will not be selected as the next o-line coach.I look for coach to bring in someone he has worked with in the past that knows how to teach the blocking schemes to run the wing-t.Look for it to be someone that he coached with in the last ten years.
  18. I was hoping to hear from someone myself.I am looking forward to this year's rematch with my warriors from Riverdale.I know it is a long bus ride, but hopefully the young kid's learned from their loss to Maryville, and know a little bit more on how to play big time away games in east tn.I know looking at the film, we just didn't execute very well at all.I was really impressed with the Farragut QB last year.I felt he didn't get as much pub as he richly deserved. He is a good QB.
  19. I don't want to say what side of the ball until I have a chance to talk to him and confirm for sure what is going on.I think that is only fair to the coach that is leaving. Also I am not sure if he will be around during spring practices or not, so hopefully I can talk to him later on today.
  20. TDCMAN, Frags is correct with this information.I was waiting to post on the second scrimmage until I found out for certain on the date, which I just found out today. Also heard today that somebody on the coaching staff was leaving, but I don't want to say who until I have a chance to talk to him.I will post later who it is.
  21. I know those were the two teams that I heard of last week.I will check and double check on that.Last year Franklin came here, and the year before that we went to their house. It seems like coach a has something worked out with the Franklin head coach on spring scrimmages.I will get back with concrete info asap tdcman.
  22. I keep telling lost that we have a kid coming in, that can flat out play the Qb position. He has played this position I believe since he picked up a football. He is definitely an athlete, and a smart kid in the classroom. No dummy. While Cody gutted out great games while hurt, he by himself didn't get the team to the semi-finals last year imo.Special teams gets overlooked, and this area we were tons better than the previous year when we went 5-5.Kicker was great, snappers were great, and kickoff and punt coverage was awesome.Just ask Oakland. They couldn't get many yards at all in the playoff game remember.Defense gets left out, but Coach Wells coming on board this past year, was the best hire Coach A has made imo in the last three years. Not only does he know the game very well. but knows how to teach and motivate these young men.I am looking forward to the spring scrimmages.I know all the running backs will be more mature and I should see more leadership this spring out of them.
  23. Not really sure who's tearing it up, but I will try and find out.I can't wait and see when they put the pads on, who is ready to step up and be a leader for this year's squad.
  24. Spring practice starts April 20 this year. The schedule is the same teams from last year.If we played them away last year, we play them at home this year.Very simple. The weight meet will be right before spring practice starts. All big district games(Smyrna,Oakland, siegel) will be played at Riverdale.
  25. Lost Old Dad, what are you doing brother. Our QB had more heart than talent.Even when Riverdale has a good season, you are ready to even go as far as to say that Lavergne will beat us.C'mon Man.I think when you win district mvp(which Cody did), you have a great amount of talent.Give him credit. That's the least you can do.We have another good QB coming in behind Cody, and this kid has a lot of talent, and yes he can throw the ball.Next year we will again have some big hogs up front, and it will be another good year for the warriors.Lavergne, C'MON MAN........
