  1. I think this is more a function of a weak district. Saw the game, OR looked strong early, then ran out of gas. They have good speed, but level can't be maintained for whole game due to conditioning/toughness. Farragut has the same problems they've had for years only less talent. Farragut looked timid/scared the first quarter then got into a much better rhythm. They should be commended for coming back from what looked to be a blowout. OR should also be commended for responding with one drive in the 4th quarter. Does anybody know where the personal foul was on the 1st down loss play that gave OR a timely jolt to midfield? A very gutsy rivalry game by both teams!
  2. Prayers to the Maddox family. Great season Colby!
  3. Thanks, you too. Right now I'd trade luck for plays 3,4,5 to see the light of day. Congrats and kudos to Maryville team for dismantling FHS, and to their staff for totally exposing Admirals weakness again......ours
  4. Guarantee it was noticed by every Admiral season ticket holder, Grannie with stigmatism, 5 year old playing back on the hillside, and Stevie Wonder.
  5. Former 44 - Please consider another viewpoint. The so called "Poor play calling" was not as awful as you suggest. We rang up nearly 500 yards total offense with a small number of play options. To surpise the defense is very difficult with lack of passing game right now. I agree with you on Doucette's return and getting lineman back into position. Don't recall any lost yardage, well except for the bogus phantom Blankenship flag! So tired of these The hardest and most difficult coaching call was to 'Rest' Johnson in 4th quarter. As evidenced by Johnson's, Rule's and Fain's production, the Admirals dominated the line of scrimmage. It really was the only logical decision; so it had to be done the right way without damaging Johnson. He is such a gifted athlete with his vision, unmatched cuts and abilty to play both ways. But, you cannot survive the fumbles he has made early this season. The 200 yards he gained is countered by the multiple fumbles, poor technique and inability to secure the ball. ( Sorry Jacob ) Our cans were saved by whoever recovered that fumbled kickoff return! The staff had to sit him at that point to ensure ball security. Admirals never slowed down in gaining the winning score. It was great to see them get Johnson back in for the game clinching drive. Another good call, and cudos to Jacob for remaining positve! The improvement in 1 week was excellent. If we can continue like this and stay healthy; we could surprise a certain somebody to our south. To achieve this goal we must: Perfect a clock devouring offense that dominates TOP! Be much more physical and aggressive on defense!! Take care of the ball!!! No way am I dissing defending district champs. But their last two losses were to a more physical team in Alcoa, and a faster team in White Station. It was great to see John 'Big Boot' King back. One at time Adnation.
  6. Riverdale like a hot Mack truck through soft cream cheese!
  7. You sir are wrong! It is all about the coaching. Who do you think is solely responsible for motivating 14-18 year old young men? It's not self motivation I assure you. Congrats to MHS for taking care of business.
  8. WOW Impressive playoff record indeed! Although envious of the wins, I respectfully notice a downtrend. Maryville has proven they had enough to handle the Admirals, but do they have the 'hosses' to go the distance. For Farragut to do well, they must be more physical than Maryville in the trenches. The FS must have a good game not giving any busts and Ads must keep Rebs safeties honestly respecting the pass and back out of the box. Special teams may well determine this game again.
  9. Dockery practiced this week. It's ironic how the 'young' offensive line is now the most stable part of this MASH unit of a team. Ads need to get Urevick more involved this week offensively.
  10. Obviously somebody does care. I would shudder to think how many pro-MHS posters would jump all over a similar comment in one of 'their' threads. You could of read this thread and smiled. You could have read this thread and done nothing. Yet you chose to be involved with a infantile belittling post. There is so much one could say, but better left alone in most situations. I frequently read Maryville topics and say nothing. Some are quite enlightening, some are comical and others are downright self righteous.
  11. Well you got your wish 44, although not maybe the way desired. Freeman looked good, ran hard, and was a load to bring down behind that improving offensive line. So now what as option #2? Will Hudson be able to go? The guy with the most experience at RB would have to be Hannay. He has played there for several years before this fall and was the JV workhorse last year there. Without Rule does a two back set become more viable? Overall the offense has improved leaps and bounds but can the injury obstacle be overcome? Two games to go with playoff possibilities. I wish all the injured Admirals a complete recovery!
  12. If you follow the previously given directions(pg 1), there are a number of restaurants on the drive up Kingston Pike. Little Joe's Pizza and Ott's BBQ are notables on the early stage and several mexican places that are right around the school. There is also a couple of Japanese grills on the trip up Kingston Pike. One I know has great sushi (East). Here's to a special 'creamed' cheese and warrior roll! Ya'll have a safe trip!
  13. Good points DBtp, imagine traveling 2 hours one way for this game. It is most inconvenient for a Knoxville team on a school/work night. Regardless, the benefit is it should be a great game with two big time programs!!
