  1. Congrates Alcoa. It would be awesome for this years Seniors to win the State. Not too many can say they won State all through HS. An amazing accomplishment.
  2. Congrates Polk for have a great season.
  3. Rivalries run deep. Rivalries are a key component in making athletics what they are. But sometimes rivalries elevate emotions beyond reason. Thats when its time to step back, take a deep breath, think about things like our troops over in harms way, etc... and take a break from our petty dislikes of others simply because they support a team other than our own. From my perspective (CAK fan) the Chargers have absolutely nothing to be blasted for as it pertains to their performance on the field against the Warriors. They came, they competed, they were tough, they had a chance, they were good sports, they just fell short. These are 15-18 year old boys/young men that worked their tails off to represent themselves, their families, and their community. Just as I'm proud of our young men at CAK, you are and should be proud of your Chargers. Looking forward to meeting you on the gridiron again someday soon. Hey FootballDAd, I second that. The fan that's mouthin is not a rivalry team and he's from a team that Central hasn't played in a long time. I'm fairly new here, so I don't know how long. They are not from our area. Some comments are best ignored I guess. Good luck with your game Friday night. And thanks "FiftyishfootballMom" for your kind remarks. I'd love to come see your game Friday. I can't but I would love to. I pray no one gets seriously hurt.
  4. Hey Charger5, since you're the manager of this thread, why don't you close it. This thread has been a respectable and decent thread. Now there is a fan from another area tainting this thread. Central and CAK have respect for each other's players and program. Fans who were at that game know how hard fought that game was. Those kids played their hearts out. I want to respect and remember this game just the way it was. Every player played with all their heart. They gave it their all all the way to the end. It's tough to loose a game in the last 5 minutes. It's emotionally difficult. CAK took advantage of plays when they needed them the most. The only score that matters is the score at the end of the game. Let's give honor here where honor is deserved and move on to games and teams that are currently playing. Let's encourage your team of choice on those threads. I am so proud of every single Central footabll player and coach. They had a good season. Those 13 Seniors will be missed. The Jr. and Soph players have big shoes to fill. Go Chargers!!!!!
  5. I'm rooting for CAK on this one. For a team to face the only opponent, within two weeks, that they've lost too....bummer. It's time to for you guys to beat Alcoa. Go Warriors!!
  6. Footballdad, #11 is not your normal kicker. He's dead weight lifted 400+lbs, one of the fastest runners on the team. He's 6'2" weighes 185 lbs. He bothered his coaches all night to be put in the game to rush the QB. When they did he got his hands on the back of the QB. He's been known to put a hard hit when a runner thinks that all they have to do is beat the kicker. NOT this kicker. Blitz remember when we brought that kicker home. He was 7 weeks old. This was one of our most blessed times in our family. He walked at 8 months old. Literally had a soccer ball at his feet at 10 months old. At 1 yr old we had to put the soccer ball outside. He kept kicking and trapping the soccer ball at the entertainment center, tables, and couch. At age 7 he would score from sweeper position, goal to goal. By age seven his peers called him "The Rocket". Govolsknox - so sorry we didn't get to meet. God bless you guys, players, and the school. I really care about the Central football players. There's a lot of good kids on that team. I pray they regroup, train, and work hard for next season. There are 13 seniors that are leaving key positions. Coach Goodin had a good first season. We appreciate all the coaches that work hard with these boys. May God bless the central coaching staff, players, and families. We've had A LOT of fun.
  7. Good meet you FootballDad. And good to see you again Blitz. Ol Crazy Blitz is what you need to change your name too.
  8. We got home at 12:20. I got in the hot tub to relax my shoulder. Man what a game. I'm so proud of the McMinn Central players. They had it won until the last 5 minutes of the game. I believe CAK got a little surprised. I'm so sorry you couldn't hold on. But I'm honored to have sat and watched 11 football games this year. To our son, Jamin. I loved those punts. 50, 60, and I believe one was really close to 80. They were high, long, and pretty. Your Dad and I are so proud and honored. We just have only one regret....that you had played sooner. I cried all the way to my car. I just watched our son kick his last HS football. I'm crying sitting here typing. So let's go on. You guys on this thread will be saying. "Get that woman off here." hahaha For those at CAK, this was Jamin second season touching a football. He's never thrown, kicked, nor touched a football at home or anywhere until April 2008. I picked him up from soccer practice and he was at the football field. He asked me if a 55 yard field goal was good? LOL I wish CAK well next week. Alcoa has to loose sometime. Next Friday is as good as any. God bless.
  9. Lord willing, I'll be in my spot. Up high on the bleachers and around the 50. I'll have cameras ready. Colors...too cold to care about the colors...I'll have on a warm coat. If you cut one arm NC blue runs. If you cut the other arm TN orange runs strong. I'll see everyone at the game. Kick off 7:00. GO CHARGERS!!!!!!!!
  10. I agree smokey. Polk wins over Kingston. Go Polk! Central wins over CAK. Go Chargers.
  11. I'm so excited. Go Chargers!!!!!! 24-14 Central wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Numbers, scores, wins, losses, that's why it's called an "upset". It may make no sence. It's a game where everything seems to go the direction of the underdog. Numbers are good for resumes. Every Friday night the only numbers that matter are the numbers on the score board for that game and that game only. The side with the highest number wins the game. Go Chargers!!! Smell it? That's not the smell of food from the concession stands. That the smell of "winning".
  13. Back to some serious football. I truly believe Central comes home with an upset. Central 24 CAK 14 GO CHARGERS!!!!!
  14. Thanks for the picture Govolsknox. We are having way too much fun on this thread. It's like we really don't want to beat anyone. NOT!!! Maybe I should sing something after we win. Our son went to Fairview Christian Academy in Athens until his sophmore year. I still have one child in that school. (The 4th grade) I'd be glad to come up and speak in Chapel some time. I don't play the quitar much Blitz. (12 string) I was in a car accident this summer and I can't raise my right arm above shoulder height. My guitar is too big for me to manage until I get this arm fixed.
  15. Bobby M? When I made a tape and you gave a donation to Small World? Wow! How come I don't see you at the games?
