  1. I’m not discounting what you’re saying, but this is the 12th game of the year and that’s a far cry from a scrimmage or week 1. What I saw on film for Southwind was a good team, but not a great team.
  2. I just wish they would play Beech so we didn’t have to travel all the way to Memphis. Lol
  3. The real point was I didn’t say anything and I’m typically on your side. This time I was just eating some popcorn and watching and you wanted to drag me in to some little fit you decided to throw across several threads. It’s ok though, you’ll be in hibernation Saturday.
  4. Man… I didn’t even say anything to or about you, but we could take a poll on reputation amongst those that have interacted with us most.
  5. Beech has played up and down to their competition all year. Beech will be ready. All joking aside, I believe Beech wins by a couple scores.
  6. I’m guessing the band don’t go. I’m also guessing the game will be closer as long as Baker is/stays healthy.
  7. If you need bulletin board material from a message board, that may be a problem in and of itself.
  8. Beech is clearly the underdog with a 7-4 record, facing an undefeated 11-0 team that is clearly rolling, coming off of a complete dismantling of Springfield. Southwind has only given up 60 points in 11 games I just hope Beech keeps it respectable.
  9. I said no such thing, however… Line Read Line Southwind has athletes and there’s a lot of talk about the QB, but I think we’ve seen 3-4 better QBs this year.
  10. Ok… I like Perry, but this is funny. Pillow Perry. I’m sure he will even laugh about that one.
  11. You completely misunderstood what I meant. Everyone I have talked to is extremely happy with this year and I believe they have found a good coach. I just know it will take some time and I hope people understand that and stand behind him. Seems to be a great guy as well. That’s what I meant by expectation, is simply knowing it will take some time to get where they want to be. It’s not one or two years.
  12. South side Cafe for the win! Good food. Great people. The question is will this game be more of the same from two weeks ago or will Hendersonville make a game of it.
  13. Hearing stories and being there are two different things… Like I said speculation and conjecture. I’ve spent a lot of time in the training, recruiting, and 7v7 world and I promise you it doesn’t go down like people think/say. Those kids ask for advice on certain things, but it’s not like Buck is running around telling kids to leave one program to go to another. That just doesn’t make business sense. When you do what NPA does you can’t do things to intentionally alienate coaches.
  14. Just watched the Southwind/Springfield game and from what I saw they’re ok, but not great. That 62-0 score makes it look like they’re special. Comparing them to who Beech has played, I don’t believe they’re close to Collierville, Riverdale, or Henry County. Several athletes, but looked like a lot of backyard play design and missed tackles. Throw in a bunch of turnovers and the fact Springfield has no offense and it turned into disaster.
  15. So many things to say, but I’d rather not. Let’s just leave it as no.
  16. It’s a culture issue that Stroup has to overcome. He had a good year and it appears to be going in the right direction, but it’s going to take some time. The freshman team was ok, but the JV team was terrible. They just have to have realistic expectations with him and realize it will take a few years.
  17. I agree completely. That’s where expectations and perspective come in. A first round exit isn’t successful for Oakland, Maryville, Alcoa, and a lot of other teams. If you’ve won 13 games in 3 years, 10-1 is successful. Obviously not the outcome you want, but far from where you were.
  18. I agree with all of this, but I also agree that it’s about perspective and expectations as well. If your expectation is a state championship, a first round exit is not a successful season.
  19. That’s good in theory, but not how it really works. I know that organization well and that’s nothing more than speculation and conjecture. That said, when you’re training the top talent in the state, people take notice of any moves. Boo Carter is a perfect example. Boo is a NPA guy and changed schools. NPA had nothing to do with that move, but because he trains with NPA everyone said NPA directed it. Maybe Gallatin should be more NPA and less Banks. Lol
  20. Kids move. Good kids want to be where they’re going to be successful and I can’t fault them. If you’re good, in a bad situation and you’re going to move, why not go to a good program. Also, not sure what you mean about NPA. They help a lot of kids in a lot of different ways. I’ve seen it myself.
  21. Three Region 7 teams move on to next week. Beech travels to Southwind. Hendersonville makes their second trip to Henry County in three weeks.
