The rebel's won't get any love on the message board's this week, but come Friday night you will see what this team mean's to this town. Go Rebel's
  5. let me clear up a contrversy about the football team from houston county. my great, great, great, great, granddaddy told the story of a loveable ofe of a man from hc. this was a big huge red haired giant of a irish man. everyone called him bear because of his size. bear married a crazy women who lived in the recently setteled town. i know what your thinking, all the women in hc are crazy, yes that's true now but back then there was some good ones. any way here name was katherine, and because of here name and here nature everyone called her "wild kat" wild kat was fearsly jealous of other women since bear was such a loveable man. but bear was loyal. none the less wild kat run all the young ladys away. most setteled down nearby in surronding area's. but there were no young ladys left in erin. with the other gals out of the picture bear and kat began to have kids. slow dim witted boy's and crazy if not mad young girls. since no one worked back then in erin or now come to think of it, all bear and kat did was have kids. so many in fact that they had enough for a football team they had 7 girls that were well you know. and 11 boys. now the game of football was fairly new to the few resident's of erin so bear put his 11 boy's on offense and kat put here 7 girls on defense. poor bear's boys could not score against 7 girls. kinda like hc offense today. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> word of the erin football team began to spread and when people heard whose kids were on the team they began to be called the bearcat's. hence the confussion. it wasn't till later when more settelers moved in and kat and bear passed on that the named changed to the irish. which were the people that setteled the town. still to this day erin is full of crazy women and slow dim witted people. these are the offspring of bear and kat. you would think after 5 generations the crazy would wear off, but when you live in a hole and never leave it kinda sticks. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> i hope this clear's things up and gives you a little history leason as well. while the rebel's are making history this year i would love to so this team break one more record. the most point's in a game by a rebel football team. Hang 70 on them reb's. HC 0 SC 70 LET'S GO REBEL'S
  6. as much as i dislike, no that's not it, lothe, hate, can't stand the sight of blue and white tiger propaganda. i must give waverly it's porps. they are clearly the dominate team in this match up. let's face waverly is great. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> the tiger scouts keep saying that if they played stewart county's schedule they would be 7-0. i say if aunt gene had a pair she wouldn't be aunt gene. i've yet to here anyone say sc had 3 starters out the night the tiger cubs beat us. you know why. we took our beating and went home. got our heads on right and been playing good ball ever since. a word to the mustang fans. just stay at home. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> the tigers are the toast of the town. there going to bring a huge crowd and dominate this game. you know why because the killed us by 3 td's. and we beat you by 12. that means tiger scouts beat you by 30+ and earn another merit badge. i mean we all know the games are played on paper and that's clearly what it looks like /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> there is no chance of the mustang pride will show up. heck you might have to change sidelines to accomidate the tiger cubs fans. homecoming, sr night, pride, years of tradition who cares the whole jungle is coming. you better be ready to get mauled by the tigers /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> what are those sign's on the edge of town. what? no way? hunnington used to be champions? no really those are for looks right? oh and by the way if your take any of this to heart i mean every word of it. here's a thought. houston county will destroy the rebels ok that's the only part i don't believe.
  7. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> there is an old saying that say's keep your friends close and your enemy's closer. that being said you know why sc is big card fans tonight. both of these teams will bring plenty of big hit's and the cards team speed impressed me last week. i believe the cards will stop the run but the tigers passing attack could be the difference. the tigers threw the ball well in key spot's against sc, and i believe the only reason we left adamsville with a win last week was because of the card's pass defense. anyway go card's. card fan i enjoy the post! MY PREDICTION CARDS 16 TIGERS 12
  8. first of all congrats to the rebel's. huge win on the road. i would like to tell you all my prespective on the game i saw. the card's looked good on offense, there running back i think # 32 was exploding through the rebel defense at times. the cards would march down the field and just stale. i thought the cards defense done a good job against the run, but the pass is what beat them. this was my first trip to adamsville. you have the best looking field and stadium that i've seen and the people i talked to were very respectful. i hate that the game has this tanted feeling though. first of all about the kids grabbing each other in the crouch or twisting ankles, i just don't see it. i try not to look at it with blinders own. before and after the fight i seen players from both sides helping each other up and the occasinal pat to the head. to me that show's a mutual respect and good sportmanship for both sides. i have yet to see any kid pull a ref to the side or coach and accuse the rebel's of that. if so the ref's would look for it and if they seen anything close to that they, if they were a good crew, would bring both teams together and get the game under control. as for the trash talk on the field i personaly feel that it goes both ways. you've got different kid's with different pesonality's not just on the rebel's but on every team everywhere. trash talk is just that trash. it's a tactic used to get in the oppent's head. when you beat a trash talker you don't have to say a word because he will shut up. until then any player on any team will keep running there mouth if there a trash talker. now this is what really NO me off is the fight. football is a game of emotions it's the players, coach's, and ref's job to help keep these emotions in check. the fight happened on the sc side of the field in play view of the fan's. i know how i saw the fight go down. i can sit here and type about it all day and tell you how honest i am and how people that seen the fight are preacher's , teacher's, or whatever and that's the way it happend. but i'm not. if your from sc or adamsville you should blame 2 people for letting it get that out of hand. THE REF'S! the white hat and our sideline judge watched that fight. they were caught off guard i agree but they had time to react. they rolled, shoved, and pushed each other for about 15 yards before the first punch was ever thrown. bottom line is they sat it and watched punches get thrown. it's sad to me to think that it took a player leaving our bench , who was in the wrong, but maybe morally right, to draw the attention of the ref's. after that there was just a sea of red and white jersey's on the field. if i understood the ref's signal to the press box we had 1 ejection and adamsville had 2. some one mentioned earlier on here they hoped tssaa seen the tapes. i agree, but i hate to see the kids get punished when i sincerly believe the ref's simply did not act in time. they watched bottom line while 2 kids fought. if that's what they like here's a suggesstion ref boxing or ufc. this is football it's your job to step in and pull those 2 apart. i mean come on both of the kids together wouldn't way 275lbs. and your telling me you don't have the stones to step in and pull them apart. i hate to see any kid have to sit out of any game regardless. i truly believe that if the ref's act in time niether team has any ejections. any way it was a good game. good luck adamsville GO REBEL'S!
  9. i can see your point about sc playing the smaller school's, but winning bred's confiedence and put's butts in the seats. for years we played a tough conference with school's such as david lipscomb, good pasture, davidson acamedy, harpeth, lorretto , west moreland, and lewis county just to name a few. granted we didn't play all those school's in the same year but it was a murder's row of school's. the only team we ever really could hang with was houston county. our out of conference games were against decent programs like mcewen, montgomery central, clarksville academy. occansially we would win 1 or 2 games a year with our 20-25 man roster, but during the spring practice we could go to west tn and consistently beat or at least hang with teams from that area. so finally that light bulb went off. let's play these school's try to get a few wins under our belt and see what happen's. and guess what we started winning more games, more people started coming to games, and here's the real payoff more kid's see the program succeding and want to play. i love coming to west tn to watch games. the small home town enviroment reminds me of home. wheather you call them cup cakes or not i hope sc will continue to play west tn school's, and i hope we can contiue to play adamsville! i love a good rivialry game when both sides are so pasonite about there team's. GO REBEL'S
