  1. The Rebels looked somewhat better than last year. We totally dominated the scrimmage against McNairy but that is not saying a lot. They looked very weak in all areas of the game. If I had to guess, I would say they had maybe 50 yrds total on offense. They scored on their second play from scrimmage and that was it for the day. The Rebs mixed it up very well with the run and pass. I think we scored 3-4 times with starters and once with the Freshman. I was impressed to see the offense move the ball so well. The run game looked strong and passing has improved. Saw more passes to the RB's in the scrimmage than all of last yrs games. The D looked very strong, the front 7 are going to be tough. They have the size and speed needed to make a good run. A much better test will be against Lexington this week. If they do well there then who knows what will happen. I can say I see us winning more than 2 games this year if all stay healthy. The biggest concern I see is depth, which is none. Our numbers are down compared to the past which hurts. I think adding Spivey will be a big influence on this team. He was rather vocal compared the past few years. Kids really seemed to bond well with him. Comer, Spivey and Thomas make a excellent group of coaches. This should make for a interesting season although the schedule is very tough. That first 3 games will tell a lot how the season goes. They win one or two of them then they should make a valiant run, lose all three then we start looking into basketball season.
  2. You got'em from McKenzie. The family, school and community will be with us in thought and prayers.
  3. I made it bigger for all to see ya trader....... I'm with ya though.....get'em Mustangs
  4. Thanks watcher and same to you guys this week. We gonna give them you know what, that's for sure.
  5. Interesting round 1 game this week. The Lions would like nothing more to come to our house and get a W. Saw them last week against the Stangs and again was impressed with the D, in the first half anyway. Stangs have a tendacy to make any team they play look weak. Should be another great game between us two. I don't think there will be to much love in this one so let's get it on and may the best REBELS I mean team win to face the Vikings next week. Oh and Amber, get back to work.............
  6. Congrats to the Cards on a big win tonight. You guys have a great team this year. IMO you will be facing Humbodlt in the semis which should be one heck of a match-up. Same goes to the Cardinals on a first class environment. I've been to a lot of places to watch football and you by far are one of the best places to play. I've never seen such hospitality given to a visting team and that goes all the way in town at the Saw Mill to the ladies taking up the money at the gate....you my friends are first rate in my book and have gained a new fan as well except when we play each other of course. I refrained from posting during the week but wanted to give my best the rest of the year and say thank you for the hospitality given to us. Also, the respect that your coach showed was first rate as well, Anyone that listened to ESPN's radio show knows what I'm talking about. That gentleman earned a lot of respect from me and others in the Rebel nation....again congrats tonight and best of luck on your run for the gold. And for those questioning their schedule....I'm telling you now that the Adamsville Cardinals are for real.
  7. I'll also add Tyler McPeak from Dresden Might as well throw in a nominee from last year, Colin Vison from McKenzie, pretty good one too.
  8. I’m going to ask this in the politest manner that I can for those that would like to take pot shots tonight. Two teams played an emotional game tonight with Huntingdon coming out on top. Please refrain from using ignorant and selfish post to your own threads. Both of these communities have been through an emotional 24 plus hours and the stupid remarks should wait for another day.
  9. Very well could. You mark it, the Stangs will come out of the West regardless of what others say including you radio33. You'll get your shot soon. I'm telling you now, they will run down your throat.....mark that in your book. And I say worry about others beside the Rebels. We took our whooping tonight, no excuses from me. We lost to the better team and you will to if you make it that far. powerp-the Sp vs Stangs match up would be very interesting. That is my pick for Cookville.
  10. First I want to say thank you to the Mustang community, fans and football program for the great pregame and halftime support of McKenzie's difficult day. Coming together as one regardless of the rivalry is what is was all about. Your cheerleaders coming over to support to one of our other cheerleaders battling cancer topped it all off. I for one have a new found respect for the Stangs and fans. Again, thank you from all of us in Rebel Country Now, for all in 1A football, you better get ready for those Huntingdon Mustangs. I’m going to tell you, they are for real. Tyler Warbritton is a machine out there. He would get my vote on Mr. Football if I had any say so. You are a well oiled machine and WILL be in the mix for the gold this year. Congrats on the victory tonight, you were the better team all around. I never thought in million years we would get handled that way, but it happened. I thought the second half would be our downfall but it started in the 1st and never let up. Again, congrats and best of luck the rest of the way. I’ll be pulling for you, that is for sure. Rebels, it has been a tough day for each of you. You played with heart and no one should say otherwise. You will have better days so keep those heads up and work for the next game. We still have some big games ahead of us so work on those and let this one go in the books. I am proud of you regardless and each of you will be with me in thought and prayers the next few days.
  11. Heard nothing different than 7:30. Good luck/injury free to both teams and may the best of tonight prevail. Rebels in a close one 20-17
  12. Negative sir, we play Adamsville next week. Our bye was week 0. There will be a game tonight although it will be tough on all, we must continue on for Taylor. She'd want it that way I'm sure.
  13. I'm with BigD58Dad tonight in wishing all would say a prayer for Taylor. McKenzie lost a family member in a most tragic way. Taylor was a great young lady that represented McKenzie High School sports and community. Tomorrow will be a rough day for all here and we need to keep the family, school and community in our thoughts and prayers. You will be greatly missed Taylor.
  14. Some of us have to work daily. Ole butchie can cover, no need for at least me to chime in ever two minutes. I have full confidence in the Rebels, in fact the underdog role seems very interesting this year. I sure hope the Stangs are over looking the ability of a few games we lacked in. I promise, what you think against the Gleason game will be far more different than that. I'm very anxious to see what happens Friday. Only time will tell, that's for sure. And if Comer was to hug Swenson, it'll only be to give condolense to that undefeated season washing down the drain..............
  15. What the heck you smoking......... Later,, back to work before I get fired or I'll be calling you for employment ya hoser......
