  1. LOL hog, we will be there but I think we are coming a day or so early to do something about that smell. Should be another battle on D next week. Both of us have some pretty good talent there. We better improve on the offensive side or we could be in for a 0-2 start. Alot of work has to be done. Tonight will take away some of that chest thumping, that's for sure. We're young up front with alot of work to be done. See ya at the pen.
  2. Let me give you my take on this game. We flat out stunk on offense, looked pretty dang good on defense until we wore down in the 3rd. WV stunk on offense as well, defense looked pretty dang good to. Rebs, to many stupid mistakes, WV capatilizes on those mistakes. That is the short of it, period. Take the win WV and move forward, Rebs take the loss and get better. Both teams have A LOT of work to do if we want to see extra games come week 11. Congrats to WV on the win.
  3. I'm here pal. Congrats on the win but news flash junior, you might win 5 games if your lucky. You sure ain't all that.. And I'll be the first to admit it here, we will be lucky to do the same. Good a pretty good D but our offense is about like WV, and that would next to none if you know what I'm talking about sho.
  4. Couldn't have said it any better than BigD. Congrats WV on the win although you have issues to get through as well. Tonight got you in the right directions, but you better improve if you want to play come playoffs. As I thought, Rebel D was pretty dang good until they wore down in the 3rd. WV had to much beef up front and it took its toll on the Rebel line, both sides. They better get better real quick or the Rebs will be in for a long season. Saw some good things (I think) from the offense but boy that is a work in progress. Get back at it Monday and prepare for the Lions.
  5. Understand watcher, last year was a good year for us and we are anticipating another (we HOPE). The game last year was like you said earlier, pucker factor of 15 or more. Games like that you hate to see one lose, but it was nice for us to come away with the W. I'm putting last year away and hoping for another year of we gotcha in the books again. Crossing the fingers and hoping the boys come out tonight and play like they can. We'll see soon. Good luck again and hate your not going to make it. Would be nice to met you over with ole nucklehead, but we can met another time. I'll kick ole butchie in the rear for ya, how's that. Let's GO REBELS.....3 hrs and counting
  6. As the old saying goes a W is a W, and we took it. Couldn't disagree with your assessment of last years contest. That did take the wind out of the Chargers for awhile and yes it was a pretty bad officiated game, but what game isn't nowadays. As for you better than us last year, well you have your opinion and I have mine. Still up in the air on this years team. Guess we will find out in a few hours what we are made of. Hopefully, it will be a good night for the Rebels, just have to wait and see. And the same to WV, good luck this year except for tonight of course and all stay healthy. See ya in a few.............
  7. I remember guiet well. Seems to me that the score would have been a little worse if it wasn't for the two back to back TD's waved off. We can forget about keeping things in pockets, because that is not going to happen. Never has and never will in HS football.
  8. From what I saw last week, you might have overlooked Dresden you think. I don't think any Rebel fans are overlooking anybody since we haven't seen the 2011 version of the Rebels. Yes a scrimmage here and there then throw in a Jamboree but that is not a reliable source of what we have in store. Hopefully it is like years past, but we will have to wait another 29 hrs or so to see. From all the mess have read on the T, we have lost everything and are weak this year. I would say you and others better not overlook us.
  9. I say you are partially correct. The Rebels did not roll over in either of those games in the second half. 09 we were pretty even the whole game. A break here or there and we would have come home with the win. but didn't. 10, we had it handed to us in the first half with a few busted running plays that put the Lions up quick on us. Second half, we held them scorless (I think) and made a game out of it. So IMO we just could have won that one to if we played better in the beggining, (but again we didn't) This years Rebels are still a mystery to most. They have as much talent as any team we have had the past few years, just young in alot of places. Growing up quick will determine how we roll this year. I have seen glimpsies of them being top notch and have also seen them be somewhat below standards from Rebel football of the past few years. We all have opinions, like it or not, but I say we will be just fine this year. Our D is just as good as last year and the year before which will keep us in every game. We grow up on the line and not to many will be beating us.
  10. I hear you on that. Tell you how much confidence I have me Rebels, I am planning on visiting Humboldt that week to see them play Jo Byrns. Should be more entertaining game
  11. Good luck to the SP Pirates this year. We have a few of your Pirates here in M-town playing for our little University now. Josh Wilson, Jakoby Reynolds and Raquis Hale are here playing for the Bethel University Wildcats. Saw them in action a few weeks ago during a team scrimmage. Guessing from that, Hale will be dressing this year with the other two redshirting. Raquis is quick as lightning thats for sure. Anyways, good luck again and I'll keep you posted as the year goes along for you former Pirates. Here is the BU football link for those that want to follow them in college. http://www.bethelathletics.com/sport/11/12.php
  12. Duck, Butchie leaving us out in the cold...
  13. Don't know if I will be as loud since I don't have one out there anymore, but I'll try to uphold my reputation Maybe even get some commentary with you and coach, lol. As for the tunnel, gonna need a semi to get that thing on/off the field. It only adds another distraction for the opposing teams. Their fans will pay more attention to us than thiers, that I promise
  14. Not sure why you want to go with WV. Saw the same game you did against the Lions and, and well lets just leave it at and. Agree with their RB's, couple of good ones they have but that big old line you're talking about couldn't do the job against your Lions and I see ours as better. Destroy is a big word, ain't gonna happen. You been hearing some nonsense from others that don't have a clue to Rebel football. The new QB, well he want hit many corners running, that I promise. Put him on the move a little, that is were he is best. Explain the stud reciever your talking about, which one? We have a few pretty good pass catchers. Stud I don't know about. We are not the same Rebels from the past couple years, but don't come thinking lightly. Just might get a kick in the rearend. We are young all over on offense but more than likely the best talent we have had in several years. The defense is about the same as last year if ask me. Come Friday, we start another year of Championship Rebel Football.
  15. A huge congrats goes to HC tonight. I first want to say that there is no better place in W TN or the entire state for that matter to see a football game. The atmosphere tonight was one of the best I have ever been at for a football game regardless of the level. The folks around us were as classy as you could get. I'm a huge Rebel fan and proud of our program and Friday nights but going to a HC football game is unreal. Rebels are 1 in my heart but HC is a close second (doesn't hurt that my wife is from HC as well). After tonights game, I'll be attending more this year since mine have graduated. You have a special group of young men on that field with explosive talent and I look forward to seeing more of this years Patriots. Good luck and if you see a fan there in Rebel Red (maybe I'll have to buy me some Henry County Red), give me a shout. Would love to met some of you Patriot faithful.
  16. and he gagged on a bratwurst to...... Middle School Jamboree was more fun than this game
  17. I can tell you what happened. Looked like a square dance in the middle of the field. I did not see anything from either side. Run middle gain 2-3 yards take a flag and move back 5. CAN NOT pass at all. Hope WV does because they hit DB's better than Rcvrs. WV has two pretty descent backs, 27 and 8, and thats it. Line is huge but slower than X-Mas. We play to our potential and we cruise to 2-0, BANK IT.
  18. Well, well, well. Time for the favorite part of the year to kick in gear. Been since last season for me on the T. Kind of hard on me yesterday watching the Rebels since mine graduated last year. Bittersweet to say the least. That was my first look of this years Rebels and was excited in what I saw. Overall, we looked pretty darn good for that being the first real test of the season. I liked the RB's we have this year, a little bit of everything back there. Matt was running better than I remember and Junior was a beast, reminded me of Jake alot. Boy sure does like to run over folks. Hunter, speed is all I can say. Better not let him get the corner. QB's looked a little off. Folks around me said that was not one of their best days. Going to be a little different in this years slingers. We are not as mobile in that department as the past but better overall throwing. Should be fun when teams stack the box for the run and Luke slings one out 40 yards on them. He has some targets to hit to. Chadwick looked good catching the rock, Rob T dropped a few but he'll get better and nice to see Hicks out there running routes. A 6'5 frame is easy to find in the secondary. Lineman are big this year but young. Have alot of talent up front and they will only get better as they get time under the lights. I saw some good things with them. They get a very good push off the ball when it's a running play but a little slow on pass protection. When they do protect the pass, we will be deadly. Defense was great as usual. Got to the ball very well and had some pretty good hits. LB's looked very good, of course with a Mr Football finalist back, that is gonna help. He will help Junior back there alot. Hicks and Matt looked great on the ends. Opposing QB's better get rid of the ball quick because them two will be all over you. They both will have a awesome year. My only concern was the secondary. I saw some areas that are going to have to improve. Way to many missed tackles when the ball hit the corners. You have on pads, use them and not arms. Overall, we haven't missed a beat on D from lasy year. My opinion, I think we are even better than last years D in certain areas, definatley have more speed. Another exciting year in Rebel Country is in the future. Should be fun to watch and I for one am looking forward to it that's for sure.
  19. Congrats Eagles on the 2A title. You proved what 99% of the state projected at the first of the year. You earned your title this year by beating some very good programs. We would have loved our shot at you this weekend but we just fell short. Good luck next year. TCA, there is nothing to hold your heads down. You should be proud of your accomplishments as well. No one thought you would make it and you did that represented your school well. Most don't have any idea of what kind of program you are and what you go through every year playing much larger teams. To accomplish what you did this year should be a motivator for schools around here the next few years. Although the outcome was not what we wanted around here, I am proud of the way you represented the West. Good luck to you as well next year and we will see around week 5 of 2011.
  20. wow...........not what I thought. I guess it goes to show why I shouldn't listen to rumors. Picking up Adamsville instead of Camden....
  21. I have heard several others complain about the same thing this year.....
  22. That they may. Both teams may end up wearing hockey skates. Heck it might even turn into a hockey game........
  23. They will not have to worry about a wet field Friday night because we something else to slow them down and that would be the Rebel D......
