Coach Odom isn't there starting last year. Coach Sloane coached his first season here starting last year. It wasn't an awful year, but it was definitely a down year. From what I hear Sloane is a good coach. Came over from Siegel. It wasn't all due to odom leaving. We had a huge dip in talent with the departure of the last few senior classes. Not taking a shot at the current players, but the last few teams looked like men among boys compared to the team last year.

Baseball is good here. Regularly win district championships. In the last few years have made back to back state championship appearances and made it to the final 4 a few years ago. Have quite a few players playing college ball right now and starting.

Ugly win but I'll take it. The score doesn't tell the story. DC had almost 450 yards offense in the game. WC had around 200. Turnovers and penalties were just awful.

And I can see where he's coming from. We had warren down by three possessions at one point. We started good agains SM too. We even had LA 6-0 at the half. The second half has been a nightmare so far.

I'm here just reading. Not a lot to say at the moment. I can tell from coach trapps latest interview after the LA game he has a lot of frustration. Says we get very sloppy mentally in the second half of every game so far.

Honestly defense keeping them in it. Boss is running good, but we just can't pass on them.

I like Boss playing on defense. Strong physical player with some speed to add. I'm not sure about Jennings. Where do you see him playing? He doesn't fit the bill in any position that I can think of to be honest. Stone coming back helps. He is our best DL and missed the first two games. Last year he got a lot of sacks.

I'm not even going to participate in the usual banter before this game. I don't have any confidence in this Fridays game sadly. Whatever happened is a mystery to me, but I just can't figure out how a team full of young players comes back older and plays worse than they did the year before.

Everything seems a bit deflated this year. I'm not sure why. We came into the first game with all the returning guys and a good season in mind. But the first game against WC people were so quiet. No one got up for cheers. No one got loud except a select few. This is even at the beginning of the game. Last night was even worse. The players kind of stand on the sideline and silently watch. They're usually yelling at each other and slapping and what not. Coaches aren't even yelling like they always do. What happened? It's not just the play on the field. If you come to a game you'll see what I mean. It's like somebody sucked the energy out of the whole program.

This post might get lengthy. I saw a DC fan say they'd like to see an honest assessment and here it is. From everything I've seen after watching this program for years: We only lost 4 seniors and something like 14 of the current seniors are 4 year players. There's absolutely no reason to REGRESS like this. We played freshman in a lot of spots last year and played better than this. There are flashes of a good football team, but something is going on. Jennings. I hate to say it, but he is playing poorly up to this point. I know he is still young, but people (me included) have overhyped him. I'm just being honest and it may sound harsh. He locks straight on to who he wants to throw it to and he scrambles around while staring at that one person. He missed a lot of throws so far as well. Receivers are not helping him out when he does throw a good ball. So many interceptions off of a ball bouncing off the hands of a receiver end drives. Running back is solid. Only got 9 carries. Yes 9 carries. In those nine carries, averaged 9.9 yards per carry. Make sense to only get 9 carries? Didn't think so. Wide receivers are not what they have been in the last few years. Coach trapp is use to having great athletes such as edwards, molander and fullilove, but it just isn't there anymore. Stop throwing the ball over and over. It's not working, and it won't with what we have to work with. Defense. Tackling is terrible. So far we've played two teams that passed maybe twice in the whole game and ran the same exact running play non stop. We stay in the same defense. Not that it's all on the coaches, though. Last night #6 may have touched the ground three times on his back. He never went down. Refs just had to blow plays dead. We can't get him down. Or the WC back down. Our guys are just slipping off them like they're greased. It's honestly hard to watch. Play calling. It's poor. We pass pass and pass some more. Once again, this worked with our athletes the last few years. This year won't work. Stop doing it. Of course it won't matter if we get the ball ran down our throats. These sideline to sideline throws over and over are pointless. Sorry, but that's my honest assessment.

If you have a decent running back you can run it down our throats all night. We will be lucky to finish top 3 in district and I'm not even joking.
