It doesnt matter if they make it or not. East Tennessee ball is by far a lot weaker than anywhere else in Class A

Wartburg was terrible. That is just the difference between East Tennessee girls basketball and the rest of the state. That team finishes 4th in a lot of districts. Would be nice to play in a district like that every year.

Everyone is forgetting about Forrest because they had an early exit. Coach Jean is an outstanding coach and will have them ready for next year. Remember guys they do not loose much.

It doesnt't matter at this point about the Moore County game. They will make it to state, maybe win a game or so just depends on who they get matched up with. As far at the officiating goes, it was awful. Moore got more of the calls and were aloud to push off all night(Garland). She is good high school player but I am going to be honest. I can find 10 better players than her. She has no outside game, and is out of control going to the hoop and with that being said she had a sophmore guard D her up. She got bailed out on a lot of calls. The girl that was guarding her is a big time player. Thats who you should be keeping up with. I cannot wait to watch the Lady Irish play next year as well as other teams in 9A/10A With the one fella on Rachel(Papa Tiger). She would start on any team in the region and be a force for any of the teams including Moore. If i had to say you are probualy one of those that has never played before.. " A WANNA BE"

I would say Houston County had a great year. They went 28-5 and were ranked all year in the State Polls. The game last night was a lot closer than the final score. Houston County was up at halftime, and was only down 4 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Some people posting comments saying that Moore is 30 points better and Houston was dismantled is a false report. Houston County gave Moore all they wanted. No doubt about it, Moore and Houston were the top teams in the region this year. It was a fun filled year of hoops. A lot of good posts and comments. I will say that you will see Houston County back again only loosing 1 player off this years team.. McEwen also had an outstanding season. They were in the semifinals for a reason as well.won over 25 games as to end the season. Lot of good kids/basketball players on that team as well. Good Luck to the 5-A region...I know we compete againest each other, but it does looks good when we come out on top as a whole. I hope Moore County wins the state even though that will be a test with how many good teams in Class A there are this year. Good Luck

Rachel needs to play instead of predicting who McEwen is playing in the finals.

you cannot compare scores. McEwen and Houston County could beat White House Heritage as bad as they want. 50 or 60 as well if they wanted.

Flash- It's asured that you have not been keeping up with scores. Moore County and Houston County will be a great contest. I think that game could go both ways. Both teams have been in the top 10 in the state polls all year. I think that the winner of that game goes to the state tournament. I was bad that the 3 best teams in the region tournament were all in the same bracket. McEwen seems to be playing well but remember Houston played awful in the Championship and beat them 2 times during the season. I am looking for a Houston County McEwen rematch.

I feel that we are going to have some upsets in this tournament. If we get to see a Moore County and Houston County.. that might be the best game in region play.

My opinion on the upcoming games: Moore County 65 White House Heritage 20 McEwen 58 Community 36 Houston County 55 Cascade 53 MTCS 47 Nashville Christian 35 but of course I have been wrong before, Great games coming up! Good Luck to all teams.

Maybe VandyCHRIS will write a book on highschool basketball since he is making all of the bold picks. Man it's tournaments...Let them play out rather than you naking like 4 or 5 teams that will beat Region 5.Odds are in your favor.

ECU seems to think he knows a lot about this district. McEwen and Houston County will both win opening rounds of Region play because they can beat Community, MTCS, or Cascade. They will not see Moore. As for pulling upsets. This thing will play out just like its supposed to in 9A. 1. Moore County 2. MTCS 3. Cascade 4. Community

I think Houston County is the sleeper in the region/substate. We all know for any team that is a contender, you must have a lot of breaks to get that far in post season.
