Score? Tellico was up 13 - 12 at halftime. Very bad played and coached game on both sides of the ball.

I guess we will get use to it. I remeber when the Region 2AA schools would always beat the Region 1AA schools every season. Upper East Tennessee football is just not that good. Hampton and Couldland are exceptions, but that is it. I remember when the folks at Tennessee High went to the semis against Maryville. They brought a butt load of people, and the fans seemed very confident. Of course, it was 35 -0 at halftime. I was really upset that I did not get to see a good game.

That place has been the biggest waste of talent I have ever seen. There are some fine folks over there, but for some reason, they can't get it done. I mean they were ready to hang Coach Meadows after Tellico beat them in 1999. Of course Sequoyah went on to win the rest of their games until the Quarterfinals. As far as the extra game goes, I call that "B.S.". Besides after an 0 - 10 season, would you want to play an extra game?

I wonder who is the better coached team. I like our play on defense and offense, but sometimes the play calling is well puzzling. There have been several face palm moments this season. But I am going to pick Tellico by 1. 20 - 19.

I'm sure you will win,but I'm not so sure you will have a better draw in the 2ond round. This just proves you know very little about the football in this area. the OZ and TP game should be a slug-fest, both teams are physical up front and run the ball well. It will not be the cakewalk for TP that you make it out to be. And then to compare Hampton (who defeated teams with a combined record of 34-65) with Oneida is just downright funny. No doubt TP and OZ got the best bracket of the two! I think you'll see that when you see what Rockwood does to Unaka, the second seed from your district. I never said it would be a cakewalk. In fact it will be a very close game. Hampton is in our bracket. Oneida is in your bracket. We have a more favorable bracket between the two. O well, Boyd is going to whip whoever they play in the semifinals.

OK, if we somehow meet in the Quarterfinals, do we get the homefield since we won head to head in the district?

I guess they had a better overall record, but does head to head not mean anything? Seriously, this whole thing is screwed up. Oh well, IF we win, we have a better draw in the second round.

Dion is going to play. He could have played last week, but they really did not need him against a very bad Midway team. BTW, Tellico was going to host a playoff game anyway. I really, really want a playoff win for this program. Ironically, the last playoff win for us was against Oliver Springs in 1994. It was a 35 - 28 win for us in the second round. It will be a very close game, and we have to play well to win. The penalties have been very bad this year.

I figured this would be the matchup. By the way, this is not the first time that these two teams have met. We have played them several times.

This is high school, and they should take their beatings like men. More importantly, the younger guys are not seeing as much time on the field. They work their butts off in the off-season, the pre-season, and during the season. They deserve it. Seriously, who thought of this?

So, you have a new coaching staff this year? I didn't know that. And I do realize it was only one fan, and not a reflection on the entire fan base.

Dion O'Dell from Tellico is up there. He should have been the player of the week on a couple of occasions.

Tellico owned Greenback tonight. How about that run by O'Dell in the first half? If a news camera was there, it would have been the play of the week. It was as good of a high school play I have ever seen. Tellico and Greenback both scored on their first drives, but after that, Greenback could not do jack squat. By the way, I guess O'Dell will be fine. They have a bye week, don't need him against Midway, and would probably have a bye week in the first week of the playoffs. Oh, and to the jack@ss fan who wanted Greenback to to hurt one of our players. You are a real piece of work, and a tool. Yes, let's cheer for an injury for a high school player. You are a real man. Great showing by the Tellico fans tonight! Outnumbered the Greenback fans, and even had a few sitting on the home side. All due respect to Greenback, but it feels good to be on the other end of some butt kickings for a change.

I am afraid that Rockwood wins this one. Things are so much better down here, but they match us on the line, and have better balance on the line. 21 - 14

I have never understood this. Morgan is a great coach, but when it comes time to win it all, he and his team does not come through.

2005 - Semifinal game against Greenville

Great showing at Walker Valley last night. I was very impressed with the number of folks(especially students) that you brought to the game. I was pretty blown away. Now, let me ask you this. A few years ago, Shelbyville probably had 50 to 75 fans for a semi final game at the girls State Championship semi-final game a few years ago. Just wondering if the girls still get little support(despite being a power house).

A lot of the time, you will play a team you have already played 2 or 3 other times that season. Look at Bearden-Farragut. Bearden won by 43 and 23 the other two times, but only won by 7 last night. And Carter defeated the best team in the State last night. Still though, that is the way it should be. I don't want to go back to the 4 sectional tournament games. That was a very bad idea.

Hard to believe that a team that lost 13 regular season games won the State Championship. They are just a bunch of corn fed country boys who love basketball. They will continue to be very good.

If the opposing team, coaches, or fans have a history of jackassness, then I am all for it. If the opposing team or coach has a history of running up the score, then you better do it.

Where can I find scores for past State tournament, and even Sub - State games? TSSAA's website is so poorly put together, that it is like finding a needle in a haystack.

The coach from Meigs County. In my opinion, he is the best coach in our district. I would like to see what he can do with some real players.

And I never blame the games on officials. Most of the time, they are not "out to get" the other team or coaches. However, they are only human, and emotions can get the best of them. The best ones know how to handle that. For instance Jeff Caple(from Oklahoma) really jumped over an offical after a call. He was very antimated, but no T was called. His team had been playing pretty bad, (something like a 40 - 15 run for Kansas) and the officials just talked to him, and he calmed down.
