  1. hes a junior. good, smart player. he and john barrick will run the wings for brentwood this year and will be very important. they are both very good and will be huge for brentwood next year. i think cambell runs some one when crowe goes out of the game, but im not sure. brentwood will be good this year...they beat antioch last week.
  2. williams is the best player on columbia and is very talented. sparkman (mr. football) is also very talented. they are both for real. columbia plays franklin tonight at franklin if you can make it.
  3. I stand corrected on McGavock...I read the rankings wrong. I'm still convinced that they have a ton of talent but will not be able to play as a TEAM. As for Stratford, I'll have to see them AGAIN to believe it...but if you say they beat Whites Creek, I can't argue against a win. Glencliff didn't impress me either. They have two players, #44 and #34 (do you know their names?)that are solid. #44 may be one of the best athletes in the state but they don't play as a TEAM either. Thanks again for the rankings and "debate". Franklin 54, BGA 56...just to let you know
  4. You have McGavock, and Stratford in the top 25...McGavock only beat Franklin by 5 in a close close game. Franklin started 2 sophmores and didn't play Josh Refegee or Ryan Nichols (2 starters who had just returned from football). They were a good team, but not top 25. Look at the stats, Franklin dominated for 3 quarters and lost a 10 point lead in the 3rd quarter. McGavock, top 25, no. Also, Franklin scrimmaged Stratford less than a week before season began. Again starting 3 sophmores Franklin won. They must have gotten really good over that one week period. Rumor has it that half of their team won't be eligible due to grades anyways. Stratford, top 25, don't see it. Either way good luck to both teams they are definately talented, but didn't impress me that much when we played them. Note: Franklin also beat Antioch in preseason...but Antioch beat Hilsboro who is very good....how is that? Good luck to all the teams and thanks CoachT for your rankings.
  5. soccercrazed...yes, Dunham has commited to Birmingham Southern
  6. Monica Dunham-Franklin High (state MVP) Taryn Holland-Franklin High (GK: state Championship team) Stefanie Holland-Harpeth Hall Taryn and Stefanie aren't related but they are both amazing keepers for freshman. Dunham is just amazing...you will see a lot of her down the road.
  7. What's up buddy...You're playing this year aren't you? Either way I think we will be pretty good from what I've heard.
  8. Who is going to be Brentwood's keeper this year...do they have one? They should be good all around the field, but will be hurting if they don't have someone to keep the ball out of the net. Just curious...let me know who it's gonna be. Also Tyler from BA is the best, Street was the best last year.
  9. is stratford supposed to be good this year? Franklin scrimmaged them about a week ago and beat them. Franklin didnt even have their football players (josh refegee, kevin murray) and started 3 sophmores. i wasnt impressed with stratford (except for #44) but it may have just been a bad game. lemme know how they are supposed to be this year.
  10. I played against these guys a lot growing up, going to Grassland and then on to Franklin. Walker is good, John Berrick is good, Danny is good and the "Woodland boys" have gotten stronger and better. I saw them play at the Franklin Jamboree the other night and they looked impressive. They will definately be able to play outside with anyone and will be deep, too. As for their inside game, they have some tall kids but I don't know how deep they are and that could be where they can improve. The football players weren't there during the jamboree so hopefully they will get a few big guys that can play inside. Ravenwood is the scrappiest, reachingest, throw you off your gamingest team ever...very young and not very good but annoying and they may come up with a few wins this year....I hear brentwood had a time of it for 3 quarters the other day with them.
  11. Sis....I stand corrected on Fugate, he is a solid runner. However your comment about how Brentwood would win A game on A game is totally off. Stats obviously point toward Franklin in a game where both teams play their best: Offense Franklin 407/ 33.9 per game Brentwood 331/ 27.6 per game Defense Brentwood 107/ 8.9 per game Franklin 142/ 11.8 per game Opponent's Records Franklin 71-63 Brentwood 58-72 Most points in a game Franklin 59 (3-7 Henry County) Brentwood 49 (2-8 Giles County)(0-10 Kenwood) Fewest points in a game Brentwood 7 (9-2 BA) Franklin 7 (4-7 Lincoln County) Fewest points allowed in a game Franklin 0 (9-3 Blackman) Brentwood 0 (0-10 Kenwood) Common Opponents Dickson County: Brentwood 24-0 & 14-7 Franklin 20-13 Centennial: Franklin 28-7 Brentwood 17-12 Clarksville: Franklin 58-24 Brentwood 42-6 Henry County: Franklin 59-14 Brentwood 38-7 Kenwood: Franklin 56-6 Brentwood 49-14 It will be a good game but, your A game comment holds no merit. Good luck either way.
  12. Wesvols...you take Brentwood's Reed over Franklin's Holland? Holland is bigger, has a better frame, runs a 4.5 or 4.6 forty (which is moving when you are 6'4", 220lbs.), is one of the best pass blockers around, and all his receptions this year have been for either first downs or touchdowns(either 8 or 9 receptions). I don't know much about Reed but i couldn't put him over Holland for all Williamson Co. Also, I think Everson goes over Refegee...Josh is good but not the leader that Everson is. As for the rest I don't know much about all of them but you usually know your stuff so I'll go with you on them. You gotta have a big TE who can block and catch the football....Holland has to be there. [Edited by AllAmerican912 on 11-21-02 5:11P]
  13. The forecast is looking cold and dry Friday night. It's only supposed to get up to 45 during the day. Will the cold affect the throwing arms of Refegee and Everson? Also, will Everson play WR, RB, and QB or just QB against Franklin? I think Brentwood should have given Fugate more snaps against Dickson Co.; I'll be curious to see if his lack of experience proves detrimental, not taking anything away from him, he is a good runner, but experience is important this late in the season. I think Franklin has to find some way to score and establish some kind of running game and I think Brentwood's defensive backfield has to have a big night against Franklin's talented recievers...again. As for Everson, he cannot afford to throw into double and triple coverage like he did against Dickson Co. He had one picked off and two that should have been early in the game last week. I don't think Franklin's secondary will be so forgiving. Also, Franklin has to mix up their offense and not be just pass, pass, pass like they were last time they played Brentwood. All in all I'll say it again. I think whichever team has the fewest turnovers and whichever team's special teams has a big game will win....field position will be vital. Watch for Franklin's Joe Bell and Brentwood's Michael Clarke (sp?)...they're going to need big games. [Edited by AllAmerican912 on 11-20-02 10:48P]
  14. this justin?...how is MBA gonna be this year?
  15. hey...not too important but just updating crazybear...i watched franklin beat antioch in a scrimmage today. antioch had all their players (including football) while franklin is still waiting on a few of their starters. i was pretty shocked we beat em. im beginning to believe franklin will surprise more people than expected this year. again not important but i thought u might like to know
  16. hey sis...whether or not Franklin wins or loses in gal's soccer means nothing...this is football and time will tell who will advance. in clarification- "Same league"...last year Franklin beat brentwood in mens and womens soccer and beat them at least twice in basketball. Football, basketball, and soccer are the only sports I keep up with and as far as I'm concerned Franklin is not only in the same league as Brentwood but has been just as good if not better than Brentwood in this so called "league". My point simply is that these two schools have been historically pretty even. Anyways I'm looking forward to Franklin, Brentwood matchups in all sports. Hope you don't take this post the wrong way but Brentwood is not historically superior in athletics. [Edited by AllAmerican912 on 11-19-02 7:04P]
  17. hey... Franklin should be alright this year. we got no stars like the last few years but everyone is descent. We still dont know who is gonna be our big man and we got a ton of guards....look for a lot of 3s this carney?
  18. this pat or rose?....anyways how is BGA gonna be this year. You oughta be pretty good. Lemme know how it looks.
  19. Bruin27, noone is playing this rivalry down. The fact is that this is one of the most evenly matched games of the year and it just so happens that it is one of the biggest rivalries. Please don't attempt to turn a healthy rivalry into something it doesn't need to be. I go to Franklin and I'm just as into it as you are, but keep it clean boss. As for your promise that Brentwood will role on to the semis...I guess we will see. You wouldn't be the first to underestimate Franklin this year. Good luck to both teams!
  20. Franklin is young but is expected to be good this year. Brentwood will also be tough "as usual". Look for the winner of these two to advance to state. Good luck to everyone this year.
  21. hey i play for FHS and ill be out this year with a messed up wrist, but ive been able to watch and see how we are gonna be this year. i think despite losing cody, dana, and philip we are gonna be much better then everyone thought. it doesn't mean much cause its a scrimmage but we beat stratford the other day. either way when FHS and CHS meet its gonna be a battle no matter how good either team is....that rivalry always produces amazing games. i think people will be surprised with how well FHS does considering their senior losses last year....look for one of the best 3-point shooting teams around. i cant wait til my senior year so i can get back into the mix. GOOD LUCK TO BOTH TEAMS THIS YEAR [Edited by AllAmerican912 on 11-17-02 10:44P]
  22. This is gonna be the best game I've seen in 4 years of watching Franklin football...I encourage anybody and everybody to come out and enjoy the rivalry.
  23. Im sure there are a ton of hard hitters that i don't know but two I've watched since they were freshman are Quinton Lane and Cody Green. Pound for pound these two are a couple of the hardest hitters I've seen and they "lay the hat". Come see the Brentwood, Franklin game Friday night for one of the biggest games in the state...some predict there will be up to 10,000 people there.
  24. I agree with crazyhorse....but also you have to consider special teams. I'll be anxious to see if Brentwood kicks away from #33 to avoid any big runbacks. Another thing I'll be curious to see is if all the hype and nervousness going into the game causes any turnovers. All in all I think this is a pretty evenly matched game though. Whoever turns the ball over the least and has a good game as far as their special teams will win. Good luck to both teams.
  25. Franklin over Gallatin 21-14; what are your thoughts on the Gallatin game, potential Franklin v. Brentwood/ Franklin v. Dickson Co. matchup next week, or just anything... I said special teams would be the difference and it certainly was. Joe Bell, #33 for Franklin, ran back yet another punt for Franklin's fist TD early in the game...this was a HUGE boost. The Rebels racked up 21 with about 9 mins. left in the second quarter and would not score for the remainder of the game. Gallatin fought hard and made a run in the second half scoring 14 pts., but had allowed Franklin to get off to too good of a start in the fist half and were not able to recover. Congratulations to Gallatin on there season and good luck to Franklin the remainder of the playoffs. I hope to see Franklin play Brentwood at Brentwood for possibly one of the biggest rivals around. A backyard brawl to determine who advances to state.
