Chill out! You took what I said and ran with it. All I was saying was that after they lost one game you said they had lost focus. That is tough on a young team. I realize USJ has high standards and that is awesome but they are playing some great ball right now and that is all that should matter. By the way Dburg got beat by a good Union City team 9-3. They can really swing the bats
Milan, Dyer County, Obion Co., Crockett Co., Gibson Co., Westview. Dyersburg and Milan are tied for first right now and they have split with each other.
You were doing a pretty good job of rating the teams until you said Dyersburg didnt have a deep enough pitching staff to go the distance. That was some funny stuff!!!
You people are unbelievable. Liberty is a solid team. You are not going to win every game. Keep putting that kind of pressure on young kids and you will really see a lack of focus. Give Liberty some credit for holding on against a good team. Every time you lose is not because of a lack of focus. Sometimes you just get, flat, outplayed
The sad thing about the whole deal is that the kid did a great job and if they had a coach to go out and talk to him the results could have been different. Dont put all the blame on Messer. The high road would have been for the administration to say that we both are at fault but that would have taken too much guts to do that. Messer is a good guy who knows that he is partly to blame but take blame when it is deserved and then you might just get a coach to come their and try to keep up what Messer started.
Is there anything in there about the Easter Slam? This is a tournament that could become the same type of draw as the Warrior Classic, in Middle Tenn.. They have, never, given much coverage to the Slam. There were some very talented LOCAL teams in the tournament. I realize that they have a lot of things to cover but you expect and should get coverage during your season. Hopefully it WILL get better in the next few weeks.
At one time their were some coaches, in West Tennessee, that tried to start a new one and it gained some strength but then fizzled. This was about 5 years ago.
Dont give us that crap about a game being more important than graduation. Those sub-state dates are set by the TSSAA. Baseball already has to schedule around more STUFF than any other sport. Most notable...PROM. Any coach who has challenged that date has been dealt with severely. Its not that a game is more important but a lot of times coaches hands are tied when it comes to dates. I believe, and correct me if I am wrong, Milan had that dilemma last year or the year before. Their seniors had to make a choice or were going to have to make a choice of which one they were going to attend. Graduation or Sub-state? Personally, I dont think they should have had to make that. Either the game time or the graduation time could have been changed.
The TSSAA is supposed to be there for the schools and coaches. NOT the other way around. They are supposed to support what schools deem as necessary and that is not what happens most of the time.
