It still really amaze me that people think Melrose is going to run thru the city when they lost 3 of the states best players. They lost Jones, Rucker and Hollimon. Adonis was the 3rd man at the end of last year. They going to have quite a few losses. They have no tough post at all. For all the criticism Nate Rucker got, everyone see how important he was to that team. Jones was just a tough kid that could score at will and Hollimon was dead on 3 point shooter and defender.

I want to thank Melrose star Power Forward Nate Rucker for great memories at my old stomping ground in the mound. He is a tribute to the old school big men. Hard working and nasty in the paint. Thank you for letting us see a true dominant big man that may be undersized but played bigger. I really hate he was not able to leave a lasting mark on the state tournament. I had chills when the Melrose fans stood and chanted his name, I will never forget that feeling. Nate was not a part of the group of players that went to the camps and got all the rankings some deserved and some dont. He never had respect until he took it. Melrose never would have got to this point without the big guy. What a great second half of the season. Im told that he will have surgery on Thursday. Lets all of us say a prayer that everything goes well and that he can have a quick recovery. Im looking for big things out of him at Northern Illinois. From a Melrose fan. Congrats bearden for a great season. Hard fought game. Fans was classy in the loss. No team should feel bad loosing to the eventual champs.

Nebuntyn this was one of the best years for high school basketball in Memphis. Seriously on the AAA side. These kids got some bright futures. Never have we had these many games all year where fans were turned away time and time again. The Joe Jackson domination, Chris Jones showing he belong. The Southwind rain of 3s, black being a monster, Adonis living up to the hype, the nate rucker monster dunks, Mayo looking smooth, the central bigs. The list go on and on. Great job players. Thanks for the memories.

Congrats to the Melrose Golden Wildcats. This win is good for the community and the school. Coach JJ u finally getting your due. Melrose proved they are just better than White Station even with the big guy out. They should be 5 - 0 against them. Chris Jones came up big again as well as Adonis. Every player did their part. Thanks orange mound for coming out strong. I think shutting Hollis down again was the factor. U stop him and u put all the pressure on Joe. Joe Jackson what a heck of a career, good job for a great kid. I talk with Nate Jr and he said Nate III will get surgery on next week hopefully monday. Doctors said if everything go well he will be back to going strong by late june. Lets pray for the kids speedy recovery, because he earned his respect this year and proved all his critics wrong.

I honestly don't know what to say. Without Rucker Melrose has a problem. U just hate it for the kid. He proved and got the respect he deserved as one of the best big men in Tn. To most coaches he is a Joey Dorsey type player. He is the most important player on this team as someone else. Stated. That being said the most important player tonight is Adonis Thomas. If u going to be the man he has to be the man. Hollimon got to shoot better. Hopefully Jones is in that zone. Dang what a nightmare situation. Let's go Golden Wildcats

Just talked to Nate Jr . Nate did break his ankle. He. Will have surgery next week. Knowing this family I'm just heat broken. Get well big guy and get ready for NIU.

Melrose had Adonis and Nate on the bench the entire game. U did see what Nate did to those Softs big when he was in the game. And make no mistake it was not they did not show up. It was nothing they could do. Guards was throwing the ball away as soon as a defender came their way. That was the reason for the 19 - 1 lead. Please!! Jodyjoe u called it correct. People cant come on here and say congrats but try to find some other reason to put the team down. U know what at this point it dont even need another reply. Lets get ready for Bearden.

This game was over at the tip. All that crap talk they was down 19 - 1 in the first quartet. They did call Ricky tack fouls on nate and Adonis. Nate got his 4 while just standing with his hands up. Come on. Like everyone know we are a team not just one player. It's crow face time. Siegel is horrible. Can't handle pressure and big guy soft. Go Golden Wildcats

Saw the team this morning before they left and I was happy to see that they know this is serious business. There was not that usual joking an playing. They was all about getting to boro and taking care of business. Whatever JJ has done u can see the Discipline and its worked over the last 3 weeks. Im just glad to see this mean what it does to them. I talked to Nate and Adonis and both said the same thing. This was their mission from the first year. Even tho it was rough hard work paid off no matter what happens from this point on.

Yea and thats part of the reason his numbers have been off a little. But he do so much more that helps the team. Specially on defense

Traderb I think if Nino had stayed at Melrose they would be undefeated. Nino and Nate in the line up would be rough.

Ok now that seem to be finally put to rest. Im not going to say melrose wins by whatever. LOL like I said Kids!!!! they can make u eat crow so fast your head will swim. If the Melrose of the last 3 weeks show up it spells trouble for any team. Just ask the defending champs.

First Off what is the purpose for this silly argument. Remember Melrose was ranked in the nation long before they got the 2 transfers. They got into the substate last year with the big 3. They was ranked and undefeated long before Parks or Ced became a factor. Ced really still has not quite fit in. Took parks deep into second half of the season. This team would still be here without those players. As I said before, its the big 3 that got them here. Jones, Thomas and Rucker. Melrose cannot function without either one of them. Whats the purpose of going on and on with this. Without those transfers they still have 5 D1 players that was there. Jones, Thomas, Wilkerson, Rucker and the best 6 man in the state Jermaine Hollimon that came out of nowhere. With Parks and Ced they have 7 D1's. Did those transfers help with their dept of course. Good for them. Lets get back to bragging on our teams and talking stuff because who transfered to where dont make any different at this point. Because thursday evening will setting all this.

Melrose did not come to the state last year this is the first time. This team JJ got when they was in the 9th and 10th. They had 2 transfers that came in. All these kids u see here other than parks and ced went thru the fire. First year they lost darn near 20 games but got to semi of the regional. Last year they got to sub state and lost. This year they made it past the sub state. So this team was built from the ground up. They took steps year after year to get here. Give them credit for that. Ced and parks are good transfers. But it still going to boil down to the big 3, Jones, Thomas and Rucker

Mcfan10 they will rank up there high just because of all the D1 players on the team. I think Hamilton will still be one of the best in a long time. They ran the table and had some heck of D1 players also. I think White Station will be up there as far as Schools doing it over a long period of time.

I think both teams will bring their A game. Adonis will be big, Jones will do his thing. Not to mention parks, Jermaine, Ced and winkerson And if one of them bigs try to stop a Rucker Dunk well we all know what happen to nino of white station. Just check youtube. And if Nate stay out of foul trouble he going to be a hand full down low. They not ranked in the nation for nothing.

Ok guys this was fun now we headed to silly street. Brag on your team thats what the board is for. Defend your team. Have fun boasting. But lets leave the name calling and personal attacks out of it.
