  1. Think about this. If a school quarantines thru contact tracing based on being in class with a positive, imagine how many kids/student athletes could be affected by one positive individual considering changing classes and having different students in a lot of classes. 80 quarantined students could be due to as few as one or two positive individuals due to contacts tracing. Schools don’t have time to view cameras and may not have cameras in every class to confirm who has been within 6ft for 10 minutes or longer. My nephew has been quarantined twice already for 14 days each time because he was in the same class as a positive case. To his knowledge he has not contracted Covid himself. Not all schools are contact tracing the same way. Some are overly conservative where others may be not so much. This is like playing Russian Roulette or pin the tail on the donkey. Kids who were truly exposed (in the halls, after school, etc) slip thru cracks while kids who were truly not exposed continue getting quarantined. On Friday nights you have a lot of players out who probably don’t need to be and some players playing, who have Covid, and don’t realize it and probably shouldn’t be playing.
  2. But he would still test positive at some point over 3 plus weeks of testing multiple times a week....right? Or are you saying he could have it and show no symptoms and never test positive? They are using both the PRC test & Rapid tests in combination.
  3. OZ coaching staff went on record on social media they never did such things towards the Cherokees. We are supposed to believe the kids were all liars. We all know most coaches get their nose out of joints occasionally, some warranted and some not so much. It happens, they are human & as competitive and passionate as the players are. The thing is just own it! Antics toward another coach or staff are one thing but when the players are involved it’s just wrong IMO.
  4. Ditto! Those freshman show a lot of promise & had much success in their youth. They are growing & developing every game.
  5. It’s highly possible the thought “source” of exposure to another who tests positive was not the actual source. Could have caught from another “unknown source”. There’s more than a few of those around. There’s a lot of logical guessing going on. One would think that an individual would test positive after being exposed without a mask in close quarters two different times to two roommates. One roommate caught it from the other (supposedly & highly possible) but the other roommate never did. None had symptoms...just positive tests. It’s a mysterious virus for sure!
  6. Well it may catch someone with some sort of infection in their system but highly possible not Covid. A very high percentage of “Covid positives” do not run a temp. I was told by a college medical staff 95% or higher of the Covid positives they are seeing never run a temp and have almost no noticeable symptoms. Right, wrong, agree or not this is leading to a growing lack of “fear” of Covid. I’ve heard people say it was nothing at all but a pain to have to quarantine. Many that feel they may have been exposed are probably not going to be inclined to speak up (if not contact traced) not wanting to test or quarantine especially if they have no symptoms. They don’t want to put others into quarantine due to contact tracing guidelines. I know a college football player that has been quarantined twice due to two different roommates testing positive. He’s missed 20 plus days of participation and been in lockdown and tested negative both times. He never caught the virus from his roommates. At this point he wouldn’t mind catching the virus and get it over with to keep from having to live in lockdown for nothing. Then you have football players in college testing positive and then testing negative and showing no antibodies so a fair number of false positives. A lot of these players say if it wasn’t for the required testing protocols they would have had Covid and never knew and never thought a thing about quarantining. I guarantee you we all have been exposed to Covid positive individuals and possibly contracted it and either didn’t know or we never got it. I’m not pointing fingers but this whole Covid situation is getting more insane the more we learn and the more the stats keep coming in. How long do we continue to react as we are now? Do we live like this until there is a vaccine knowing that it is very possible that will take awhile to cycle through to everyone & also knowing a possibly high % of people will not choose to get the vaccine? Is it another year, 2 years, or is there no known stop date? How many of you all would go get tested if you ran a temp or developed what seemed like a cold? I know a number of people who have and started feeling better...never testing.
  7. He’s been surfing in South Florida....JK! He hates the ocean. Can’t find any bass or crappie in those waters. Prefers the lakes and mountains. He’ll be back at Cooper Field some, especially now that another family member will be suiting up in the Orange & Black carrying the pigskin!
  8. Oh there’s a chess match going on for sure! The rest of 2020 should be quite interesting. There’s some keep your enemies close & not showing your hand going on. At the end of the day I don’t care whether a (D) or an (R) comes after their name. If they are part of the problem I want them gone. If they are guilty of doing what I believe they have done I want them locked away even if they are no longer in office or holding a position. There’s a reason the Dems are pulling out all the stops and throwing everything at Trump to see if they can get something to stick. I’m questioning Trump’s reaction here the last few weeks because I am shocked he didn’t fire Dr. Fauci, not saying he should have, just shocked the “Terminator” didn’t pull a trigger. Something is going on. We don’t know the half of it. He’s dodged every battle and this close to election with everything going on I believe he is balancing what he would like to do and what he feels he needs to do to win an election. I’m sure his advisors as well as the whole party are chiming in. I honestly didn’t think he had this level of restraint. I’m not sure he had the time in this term to address the things you mentioned you are waiting on. I’m waiting for the same things you mentioned as well. Hopefully he’ll get a 2nd term and everything changes and we have a GOP sweep. If not, I’m not sure I will even recognize my country before too long.
  9. +1 Some really good posts! On another note I want to share a convo I had with another Mom who has a son playing HS football. She was concerned about the kids going back to school and then proceeded to say “On top of that I can’t imagine feeling comfortable with him playing football!” Knowing this Mom well I had to respond with the fact she was so worried about him catching a virus from the very same people he’s been swimming & bridge jumping with since the weather warmed up and sitting in Sunday School with. I also reminded her “You do realize you have never had an issue with him putting on a football helmet & knocking heads knowing that there is a risk of significant injury and very slight risk of taking or giving a fatal blow, but you are concerned of him possibly catching a virus that in all likelihood might not even make him ill or might sideline him a few days or couple of weeks.” Maybe I’m viewing this wrong but my family is doing it’s normal thing, no masks because we are healthy and yes I care about others but if we were all honest we’d have to admit we’ve been sick before and not isolated ourselves thus potentially spreading illness to susceptible others who are elderly & immunocompromised. Honestly myself, I’ve went to my kids’ ballgames under the weather, with fever, but tried to social distance because I wasn’t going to miss that game. My sons have played ballgames when they had fevers & one was puking his guts out in the locker room. Call us stupid or whatever but I’m sure yours have done the same. Folks there are risks in life at every turn and this whole farce of an alternate universe I feel we are living in right now is all based on politics, greed & power! The buck stops there. Come November this might just go poof & we’ll wake up from the nightmare. Depends on who wins the election. As crazy a Trump win seemed to people 4 years ago, even crazier would be a Biden win. That man has some serious issues & Im not saying that in a joking or ugly manner. This world’s gone mad. My youngest said the other day we should be looking for God to wrap this up soon & take us out of this wicked world. People walking around in fear, murmuring & complaining like in Moses’s day, no faith. My disgust for government has hit an all time high. When they start ordering the doors to God’s house to be closed...well Houston we have a problem. My trust & respect for the W.H.O. & the CDC is tarnished. Also, why is it wrong for Martha Stewart to do what she did and okay for Dr. Fauci to do what he’s doing? That guy has HUGE conflicts of interest. I’m still waiting for Trump to drain the swamp. Too hard for one man to do, he’s gonna need help. For the record that swamp covers both aisles, it just seems a lot murkier on the left lol!
  10. Thank you RD! I’ll do no different than I’ve done all thru both son’s playing days. I would be surprised if you didn’t stick to your “story” and keep being ole RD!
  11. Thanks! He’s been given a great opportunity to play for a championship winning OC who has assembled an unbelievable staff. Brought some from Clemson. Holden had developed relationships with them at Clemson camp back in 2018 but never saw this coming. His position coach Joey King played QB at Carson Newman & was Trevor Lawrence’s HC at Cartersville, GA and had been coaching at Coastal Carolina the last season or two. The new OC is Charlie Weiss JR. (Bama staff & with Kiffin at FAU). RBs coach is former two-time Heisman finalist QB Pat White-WVU. DL coach “Mo” is from Sevier County mid 90s and played for UNC. He has coached for almost 20 years with stops at Temple & FAU (with Kiffin) most recently. The list keeps going on! They are scheduled to have a $65M indoor/outdoor training facility completed by 2021. They have over 25,000 students at the main Tampa campus alone so it’s big. It’s the perfect fit for Holden and the offense they plan to run! Go Bulls!
  12. Jeffries has a motor for sure & to do what he does at his age is not found often. He’s got a natural nastiness about him but off field he’s a mild laid back young man. He can flip the switch!
  13. Yet to be decided who he is signing with. 2-3 visits left in January and then it will be decision time.
  14. Not starting a debate just going to ask you specifically you think any of your DL should take the spot away from GB DL #52 Bailey (who signed to play for VTech and is an early enrollee there)? I’m not saying that any player should automatically get a nod based on their college signing status but there’s a reason he’s getting that opportunity. Just asking?
  15. You did have a stout DL. Posed all kinds of problems for us. We adjusted in the semis to SP’s DL speed attack but looked lost at times against your DL. Probably had the most sacks/hurries on our QB than any other game with exception of our 1st game vs Loudon. Been too long to remember specifically. We scored on fast strikes and your O had the ball 3/4 of the time sustaining long drives. Wore players down going both ways playing mostly D all day. Your coach staff scouted & prepared well. You seemed to know our weaker areas. Looking back it’s almost forgetful we had a small lead late in the 3rd QTR. Then the wheels fell off in the 4th. You capitalized and we could not overcome the 3 injured starters down the stretch. So yes it was a 4th QTR beatdown lol! Honestly though your size & strength took it’s toll a play at a time from the get go. Our speed was a non factor on O because speed can’t kill until it get’s going downfield. Our QB was facing a jail break often and that marginalized our O. Well deserved win! How’s that LC RB that got injured? Hope he is recovering well.
  16. Greenback’s leading tackler #15 LB/TE got over looked. Trust me when I say he laid the hardest licks & more of them than any other GB football player on the field including our linemen. Gave 100% every play.
  17. Roy when you’re getting whipped up front I don’t know that it really matters what you are trying to run! It looked like a jail break most of the game. As bad as it was it was a close game until the 4th. Lake County was a very confident solid team. We needed more like that during the season and if you were honest SP would benefit as well with more competition leading up to the semis.
  18. Roy you still slandering right on in to 2020 or are you going to turn a new leaf? You know, I know & the good Lord knows. I have never “recruited” a player but you keep having fun with “your” world. I forgive you! Praying for you RD!
  19. I suppose they are just following some of the “adults” lead here on the social media platform called CoachT. That’s exactly what happens on here. Saying something when they haven’t even played the game yet lol! A lot of the Twitter stuff I’ve seen is from former grads & unknowns. Probably missed some stuff but not really looking for it...just seen some in passing. #23 did post something to the effect we’re winning & take it to the bank lol. Love the confidence & if that’s the worst he ever posts I’ll take it but gonna have to back it up or eat crow. What I’ve seen don’t hold a candle to the social media between GB & Sequoyah back in 2015. It blew up!
  20. Handicap tag considered a pass correct? Surely we aren’t turning away handicap vehicles and sending them to the “lower 48”.
  21. Don’t hold this as the gospel but I was told in the past that if someone has a handicap tag they are allowed thru the pay/pass gate (old school entrance) and can park in the preseason paid parking area that used to be the old school gym parking. This would be the overflow if the handicap parking in the south end zone is full & it will be. From that gate you can’t drive back around the visitors bleachers though (one way and no traffic except for players and/or handicap vehicles coming in main pay gate below field house) and that gate does not open until 5pm. If you get there early enough & have a handicap sticker you could probably drive thru between football & baseball fields and around to that area (could drop off passing visitors bleachers) & park. Handicap should not have to park next to new school & walk that far & I am sure GB allows accommodation so that is not the case.
