  1. Hahaha that's not possible, Lopez is happy at Christ School and he's going to stick with that school. Trust me he is not leaving Christ I just thought i wld continue the rumors haha!
  2. I am a true believer in redemption and this is a case for it. We need to focus our attention to the fact that this kid has an opportunity to turn things around. His past is his past, and he has to deal with it. What we should expect is a worthy player playing bball for A.E.. AE's coach will be dealt with only when the parents want for it to happen. Until then, let him coach the way the staff, parents and fans want him to coach. Yes they are having a down year, but you deserve what you pay for. AE beating Carter was a waterloo and kinda shook things up a lil. Only time will tell, but one thing you can count on is Coach M, will find some way to talk to Lopez. Haha!
  3. Well well, it looks like there's problems in Fulton Land. First off this is only one loss so how can the faithful accept or even question Fultons ability to rebound. I went to the game and saw how West brought the pain, but you have to realize that West has a full bench of players able to bring a constant stream of capable players to the front. Fultons bench runs about 1 person thick. So in light of the loss I expect for Fulton to give West a good game tonight at Bearden. Maybe Fulton needed this loss to refocus their attention to the details, or maybe not. It just might be that West was a better team for the night. So tune in for the repeat of the only game worth watching in Ktown tonight. It looks to be a toss up. Watcha think??
  4. Well it looks as if another year is upon us, and Carter has heeded some words, suggestions, and harsh advice. Advice that at times seemed to be piling on day by day. What one year would do is in its self a reflection upon ones past. Carter has started down the road as being a team that wants to win. Coach Tony has gotten finally rid of all the pesky and non-functioning players (seniors) this year. Carter is counting on the duo of Wilson and Bennett to carry them throughout the season. Althought this is a great plan, what would happen to them if one of the two was hurt, injured, or was in a disciplined manner. Carter would be lost without the play of them. Look at the GP game, Wilson had 28pts, Bennett had 19, thats scoring for over 3/4 of the toal team score of 66pts. Carter has to be more prepared for the future and i'm quiet sure Tony is working on it. The season has sarted so lets take a break and see what it brings.
  5. I agree with you 100%. West will have the come ready to play, they almost failed the AE test of full on pressure. Luckly I was within earshot of hearing their coach telling one them that one of the players is playing scared. This senior player which i'm not going to mention by name was able to pull it together in the second half of the game and bring West back from the possible doom of a sudden AE win. West will need more bite in their play, more meanness in their hunger for the contol of the game. I still think this one will be close, but its going to be the game of the week.
  6. Hello Anderson County, I would like to take a moment and say that your team is progressing along just fine. Coach Wallace is doing overtime trying to prepare for the next game, as a matter of fact, I have had the chance to see him at several game, mindful that its his own time scouting other teams that you are about to play. I find that very interesting, because most coaches dont do that for high schools any more, because the rely on others, from asst., to their buddies. Anderson County has lost some talent, but I look forward to a promising year ahead. Alan, Tanner and the other players are stepping into some big shoes in a very competitve district. Coach Wallace continue doing your job, inspire these boys, and demand that they give it their all. Just wait fans because a great thing is about to happen.
  7. You are right about one thing, and that is that the players have to strive to get better, but then again we are in Knoxville. With your case in point, just look at Tennessee Basketball, those players worked hard to get there, and the opportunity to play SEC ball, but just think for one minute of what you said, because without Bruce Pearl coming in and striking a cord with these same players who were Buzz Boys before. Tennesse wouldn't be where they are today. Yes, Coaches have to inspire, they have to push until they get the best out of them. In no case am i'm here to bash the coach, but we must call it how we see it. Inspire those kids, get them to jump when you need them, motivate them just like Pearl did, and the other coaches as well. Support the team, but you must demand more of him, because these are your children. The children who are going to be impacted the rest of their lives. Thats all I got to say at this point, because I place faith in people who are teaching our kids, and its time for them to answer to the situation at hand.
  8. I'm glad to hear that Sullivan East is doing real good, and that I will have the chance to see them play in the Arby's Classic. Go East!
  9. Tonight perhaps happened to be a closer game then many would have thought. Union County with the playing of Tyler V., had a close game, with UC able to keep it within 7 hard fought points. Fulton with the dream team, in effect, seemed to under estimate the game that was in front of them. Leaving Tyler open for numerous 3's and putting him on the line for about 17 on the stripe. Fulton has a big game against West coming up, this game will be a game of hearts, strength, and the ability to score. So come on out and support both teams as they do battle.
  10. Hello Robpride, I take great pride in trying to give an answer to a problem that is riding on the back of Powell. Could you once enlighten us pawns of wannabees on the record of Powell. Could you maybe tell us one point that is not taken on our look of things, or are we destined to sit back and let The great coach O's, who's ability to inspire Powell to be competitive, falter and burn. Coach the dang team, stop sitting on all the talent of Palmer, Wilson, and the others, who are waiting on a coach to kick them into gear. If by coach O's leadership and coaching ability, as you say so, he is able to muster enough voice to uplift these fine young gentlemen and make them into a mean fighting machine, and kick some butt, not their own, would be a wonderful sight to see. So for the time being i suggest that maybe you would listen to these wannabees and maybe take some critical advice, and perhaps at least acknowledge that maybe these wannabees are on to something. If not then coach O's ability to lead is going to be a big flop, and he will continue to get his pay while these young ball players have to live and play in front of people like you, who as it seems want to lose.
  11. West has played well, but for one moment in time it looked like the old west of past was coming back. So stick with the game plan and listen to coach . Play team ball n not selfish ball. Now how was that. {Hint Andre was in the House.}
  12. Any predictions on the West Game, It must be West's to lose!
  13. Tonight was a challenge for the powers that be at West, I would advise that all cameras, TV that is, to be left at the front door. We all know how you look already, and once you realize that you do look just like you have for a while, then you can get back to playing team ball. This is basketball not the step team, so stop looking pretty and play your game. Because if you don't you will be on TV, stating this is West's first lost. Play like your coach has taught you, and the team will look like stars in the near future. Just a word of advice.
  14. Is it me or is it something in the water over there at Fulton. So far it has been an impressive start of the year. Steele is still doing his thing (no pun). Nanna is still trying to find his place, but still is an outstanding player who will soon rise to the top for his breath of air. Lamar is deep in the battle field putting up resistance, and lobbing ball busting game defense. Galen, "G", if you know him is stepping into new found land and is setting up a playground in the heart of Knoxville. Coming out of the shadows to take over the Kil Junior player of the year, that is if they have one, and the shine of the Sophmore of the year, Lester Wilson, has been rained upon by the KUB water flowing of "G", and the real deal Steele. Having his game exposed, is a hard glass of rain to swallow. "G" has set a newfound way of playing ball for the mighty Falcons. His ability to pound the glass and take the challenge of playing the hardest players to guard against, has made him an almost player of the year type guy. If he keeps working on his handles and speed, tweak that shot just a lil, and Mane u have a top notch player on your hands.
  15. Hey what can I say for the Sullivan East team from the far East side of the Bluff City Swinging Bridge. I will make my way up real soon to see how far Jordan Cross has come. Do anyone have any updates on who they have played so far this year, and how have they matched up against them.
  16. Well well Well, I see that things don't change. AE has over the years been a fine school of basketball, but of recent things have changed and the dynamics of it has followed. Fulton is coming off a heck of a year and with the addition of Galen it looks like they are headed back to state. AE on the other hand needs a miracle to even break even this year. Althought they have very athletic boys on their team, they also lack the skill level to remain competetive around knoxville. The trends over the last several years is the telling fact to that therory. Maybe the next 2 years will be a guiding point to the come back of AE. Im not just gabbing wind, but if the Roadrunners want it, then they will have to put in overtime to attain a reasonable level of play. I'm not counting them out, but as things look their future is in their hands. This is truely Mitchell's test of coachmanship.
  17. Hardin Valley as we know is still young and new, but with the influx of several players that happened to now go there, you would expect for them to step up and play some decent ball. after watching HV play this year i noticed that some of the players are in the ME mold of playing. HV step up and play, get some heart. Dj settle down into your role, D. Ratliff and Nate this is your senior year of playing so step up and lead your team. If playing at your best is what you are doing now, then mayby step aside and let your junior players lead. Tevin, Hunter, Justin and the others work hard and win. It all starts with work ethic and heart. There were many of close games so far this year, but the difference came down to who has more heart, discipline and skills. Work Hard in practice bc it will pay off on the courts. Word of Note: This is a bigger improvement over last year.
  18. I have been able to attend a few Knox West games and have come away impressed over their performance from last year. The starting 5 which consisted of Devin, Caleb, Jujuan, J. brown, and another of either choosing Tookie or C. Brooks, are putting in great playing time. Their bench is backed up with depth, quickness, and an attitude that lets ppl notice that they want to be the starting 5. What i'm getting at is; West is evolving into a team that is demanding respect and some attention. As anyone knows, I was all on them last year about being lazy, out of control , and selfish. Well things seem to be changing for the better and i'm looking forward for West to make a big impact on bball in Knoxville this year. Keep working hard West, is all that I can say.
  19. It's painful to sit back and watch this team play. Not having Joey run point is something that can't be explained. Yes Flyod is a great addition to the team, but do you really think he is capable of running point. Flyod is better at putting trash back in the hole, he needs to be a top post or coming strong from the wing. T Palmer needs to get mean and control the paint. Maybe time will tell and the right player positions will be in place.
  20. You are right, most of the kids attending Oak Hill have at some point in their lives, not been able to attain the required requirements to go onto college from their original high school. Oak Hill has given them a chance to achieve something great. I just hope that by that time they will have matured some in their appearance in public.
  21. Well it is good to know that. I have been in NC for the past few weeks. I will be posting real soon, as soon as I can get up to date information. I have watched Oak Hill in the MLK tournament in NC. Watched Word of GOD, and a few other teams play, but it's now time to get back to Ktowns playing. LOL! I'm back!
  22. Stanton played in his first game against Gibbs. Carter is improving in their game to a certain degree. The real test will come when they play against Fulton, and AE again real soon. Some of the games that they have won have been against teams that, what we will say is on the lame side of bball. There are exceptions with Grainger, Carter was able to handle them, and to limit Skylar's performance during the game. The Gibbs game came at Gibbs expense, for some reason Gibbs decided to run a zone most of the game. This in turn placed Lester on the block and he was able to do his job with ease. Anthony Lewis went down after someone stepped on his foot, don't know how long he will be out. The Alcoa game will be a rehash of a game that Carter should have won on the first try. Time is an indication as Carter tries to overcome the pressure from the postings on CoachT. Maybe this is a wake up call for them. Enough Said!
  23. Well gentlemen we will have to wait on the Fulton and AE game. I just hope they do honor my ticket when I come to the rescheduled game.
