  1. I am normally a very level-headed person who ignores many things that you all post, but when you blatantly condemn our school and players, I will speak out. Can you really believe we would be happy when you take our seats? The sections are CLEARLY LABELED. Can you all not read? I do not care if you think thats a low blow or whatnot because you have no right to say things like we are playing dirty or trying to start fights with our cheerleaders because you did just as much on the field. What do you have to say when your guard goes and chop blocks our safety/quarterback 20 yards down the field? What do you have to say when your defensive lineman throws coulter on the ground after the play? Don't give me your BS about class. Thats all i have to say about that. We shall play for state.
  2. And you know all about cocky catholic because you have either 1.) watched them, 2.) a fan of them, or 3.) go to the school. I love your generalizations but I think that you should make some valid statements. thank you /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  3. Always comes back to the refs, doesnt it?
  4. I knew it was going to be a great game. Man... Talk about a complete turnaround between halves... The score was 24-21 at half after a 44 yarder by Gossett who imo is one heck of a kicker. The first half for catholic, they were just getting knocked off the ball and could not stick to their assignments. For example, the best play by them i thought was the fake screen go deep. They set a man in motion and faked a bubble pass and threw to a wide open guy down the sidelines-Very smart play. TURNOVERS KILLED THEM. Catholic was lucky to stick with the through the first half. They had some very hard runs and i could not have been more impressed with Dorian, Cody, and Jordan, but we also had alot of losses. Daniel Hood caught another touchdown too. And then came the second half..... Biggest turn around in high school football I think i have ever seen. (I have been around it for about 4 years so there has probably been worse) But it was incredible how much of a turn around there was. Jordan Howanitz just put all he had out there on the field. No doubt. The blocking was significantly improved as well. On at least 2 of the 4th down conversions we had, we ran a sweep to the left. Howanitz just lowered his head and kept running. White House on the other hand lost Boone, and the run. When Catholic started recognizing the run, white house became very limited in their offense and Catholic's secondary stepped up to make some big plays. About the roughness at the end, I don't care who started it or who finished it, it doesn't matter to me. No excuses for it. It was a very emotional game so I think it is expected. Its hard for the losing team to walk off of that field no doubt. Congratulations to White House on a great season. You all played hard and you all were right about the fans! It was like a sea of blue. But I did not particularly like how White House fans were in our student section. But Awesome game. Thanks for going everyone. Go get them next year white house. (we won't be there to get in your way either!)
  5. Thank you guys, i hope you all can make it because it is going to be a heck of a game. And i just wanted to respond also to the kicker comparison. AE had the two dangerous return men so we kicked it shallow everytime like the other poster said. Against Gibbs in the first round, they did not return a single kickoff because they caught it in the back of the endzone everytime. We have a good kicker too and he is being recruited to D-1 schools as mention by someone on one of the earlier posts. I think I will make my prediction now- keep in mind I have my own bias and have not seen WH play. This is based solely from CoachT. Catholic-28 White House-17
  6. I'm not sure if anyone ever replied to you, so i guess i will. Williamson is our quarterback. He is not a bad quarterback by any means. He has a very solid arm and good mechanics, but definitely his biggest asset is his mind. He understands the game more then alot of people do and he is able to make those "bang-bang decisions." The coaches feel very comfortable with him leading the team and as a teammate of him in some other sports, he has the leadership abilities to make a big impact. Take into account the last drive put together against Kingston to win 8-7 in the rain. Perfect display of passing if u ask me if you take into account the pressure and conditions (rain as mentioned before.) So overall, a good quarterback. The second string quarterback is Ryan Ridley and he is not as experienced at Williamson, but he has poise and knowledge to be able to perform decently-but like i said, not Williamson. We run the Flexbone offense. Not winged-T. There IS as difference. It is not as simple as some think because of the deception involved and the constant pulling of tackles, guards, runningbacks and fullbacks for the many variations of plays there can be. (option, pass, sweep, up middle, pitch, fb run, etc.) I'm sure someone will come on here and say "Oh, we've defended the winged-T for years. We can handle you all!" DONT. This is a different ball game and different team. Let it show on the field. We take snaps under-center. Our best runningback is not really decided... We have Dorian Cozart, a junior #22 and Jordan Howanitz, a senior #3. (not to be confused with cofart and howanshitz or whatever the angry AC fan said) I'm not positive on the yards each have but im sure there is a listing with these stats somewhere on here.. Cozart was out for 3 games this season so his yards and TD's might be lower. Our Wide recievers are somewhat undecided too. Senior Nick Branum (#1) and junior Spencer Mackle (#11) both display great hands and speed, spencer has a little size at 6'2 or so, but not like anderson county's number 6 or AE's Jones Brothers. They are both pretty well rounded athletes and Nick Branum is fastest on the team. Once again, not sure on the stats. Spencer Mackle returns punts as well. So good luck everyone, should be a great game and i hope you like my little preview. Took a little time to write out so I don't want anyone hating because this is just what I know from watching every catholic game this season. Not predicting a win or anything yet.
  7. I agree with you in explaining how many athletes we have. But I also agree with you when you say that there is no comparison that is valid-until we hit the field tomorrow night. I'm excited to see you all there! Happy Thanksgiving.
  8. Do you know how to spell or use any kind of grammar?
  9. Why would you leave a comment like that on a Knoxville Catholic vs. White House post? Nearly everyone makes the same comments as you because they are clueless. Check my previous statement explaining the financial situation. You can even call the school if you want to check.
  10. The thing is, you pay your tuition. If you are catholic it is a certain amount. If you are not catholic it is a certain amount. There is financial aid available for people that can't afford the full tuition, but it is not picked by the school, it has to be cleared by the diocese of Knoxville after sufficient records are provided showing that the student and their family cannot afford the full tuition. That is the only way to get the discounts on tuition, but the rules are strict for financial aid and it is not based on athletics.
  11. Why do you people not understand that we don't give out scholarships? We don't get financial aid to athletes because of athletic ability... Knoxville Catholic High School does not give out scholarships. We are not allowed to give out scholarships. That is for teams like Webb.
  12. There is no justifying the games that were close early in the year and trying to compare the schedules. YOU PLAY IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT REGION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Play in our region and tell us how you fare against the teams we play. I'm not saying we are better, but at least use a little logic in your arguments-there is no way you can draw any comparisons from that. I haven't seen your conference and you haven't seen ours- so who knows, it could be like comparing SEC and C-USA. Make valid arguments. Thanks. And Thanks for the laugh Golddust
  13. It's Catholic Vs. White House and David Lipscomb Vs. Mitchell. Should be good games but i think it will end up Catholic and David Lipscomb. Catholic is just too good this year and their team is so remarkably fast its hard to see anyone catching them.
  14. that was always a good matchup... shame to see it go. Now the only two teams in the battle for the bluff are Catholic and Webb...
  15. No one ever did point out anything about White House really, but from what i have read, they are not exactly a speed-stopping team and their fans think that they will come over to catholic with 5,000+ fans to win on our field because we are going to be "complacent and cocky because it is our time to choke." I would have to say no, you are wrong. There won't be any 35-7 wins by white house. Shutting out AE- who was on a 10 game winning streak since we beat them is pretty remarkable. Catholic kept the Jones brothers (Division 1 prospects) from making any big plays and limited them to barely anything. Considering they had 2 starters out from the arrests, i would doubt that it would have made that much of a difference in a 45-0 shutout. Remember all of you who were predicting a close game or an upset in the AE game? This is proof of how KC plays. The offense we run is completely unlike any of you have probably ever seen so good luck with the run because as people have said, we will run it until you stop it- and so far no one has. If this team has any problem with speed, this game will not be a game, because that is what KC is based on. But i have no prediction so far. I hope i can hear a little more about White House. And by the way, there was someone sticking up for white house and i thought it was funny you spelt it "since" instead of "sense." So next time use your "sense" when you are that fired up about something.
  16. I am obviously a Catholic fan as you can tell from the name and i was just wondering if anyone could educate me a little on White House. Maybe go through the positions and give me a 1-10 ranking of it or something. Thanks
  17. 45-0. Big win for the Irish. Williamson with 2 touchdown passes, cozart and howanitz with over 100 yards each, d hood with a touchdown reception, branum with a 90 yard touchdown reception, kropilak with a touchdown run and cody shirley played a heck of a game running for some tough yards and a touchdown. I don't think anyone saw this coming the way it played out, but a great game. Round 3 here we come.
  18. here it is boys. game time in just over an hour. Get pumped. I know that the excitement is through the roof at catholic and i know they are absolutely ready to embarrass AE but they are playing with a chip on their shoulder. Both teams are for that matter. You better watch out. great game. Watch for my best friend T-dubs (Tyler Williamson) to have a good night throwing the ball, even with the Jones brothers. Should be exciting to see the strategy for that. also watch D. Cozart and Howanitz to take it up field. You can tell who im for. Catholic- 24, AE- 17
  19. Congratulations all AC fans who dissed Catholic's passing game, their running game, their defense and their secondary. i guess 1st and 10 on the 12 yard line and not being able to score with the "mismatches" you eluded to is good right? I personally feel like it was a semi-sloppy game for both teams, but AC had some fight in them tonight which was better then last time. It is also funny no one can catch our 6'5" 250 lb tight end running down the sideline after a screen. Major stiff arm on #6 And mystery dude... whatever your name is- 1st off: your second touchdown in the 28-14 game was against our second string defense. We had our entire secondary out along with all of the defensive line but 1 sophomore and our 2nd string line backers in. 2nd of all: Tyler Williamson is a very good quarterback who does not call the plays. He cannot decide to throw the ball when a running play is called which 75% of the time it is. And why would you not run the ball? It runs down the clock and lets a team control the game, and when your running backs are averaging 8.0 and 8.1 yards per run, there is no reason at all to not let them run it. 3rd: Spencer Mackle and Nick Branum are two very solid recievers. Nick Branum is one of the fastest kids in knoxville running a 4.4- 40. Spencer mackle is also tall and fast and runs a 4.5-4.6-40. Smack has great hands and if you were at the kingston game, you would have seen the one handed catches he made in the rain running down the side lines. BUT, i will agree that this game was closer then everyone thought and the 40+ point predictions are ridiculous. Overall, I think the better team won and i truly feel bad for anderson county because they had such a good year this year and a very strong senior class. Don't only watch out for catholic this year, but watch out next year because we lose 5 starters.
