This just goes to show that anything can happen come tourney time. I have seen both teams practice and I enjoy watching Cleveland. They work hard day in and day out. Congrats to both local teams for a successful year.

This one was definetly entertaining. Some talented girls on both sides!

That is a good win. Wonder how many years the ole coach has left in him? No matter if you love him or hate him..he is funny to watch.

Green for Seq. has improved from last season. Barker is the type of player that is fun to watch. I haven't seen some of the teams in this district over the summer so it is too early to pick a favorite, but Seq. should be mentioned at the top. GPS has solid athletes and the guard was right on with her 3's. Good luck to both teams and I thought this was a wise game to schedule.

I wasn't at all of the games, but did try to make as many in this district as I can. I have close friends that coach womens basketball and did some recruting in that area for Cleveland State many years ago...a Northcutt, 2 Woodlees and a Gipson kid....almost landed Rollins just from the great county of Grundy. I guess I am showing my age going back to recruting Carla However,I do not sit close to the court. The coach at Maryville when I would watch for him wanted me to sit among the parents and if I could tell the parents were going to be a headache mark the kid off. I wish all of the luck to Grundy and their upcoming program with a new staff. They will do well with Mr. Woodlee at the helm. I always respected him when he would come watch his daughter play in college. I believe I do know who you are since I am involved in AAU as well, thats how I believe I am putting your screen name to your face, but what you need to realize is that ALL high school programs with girls or boys for that matter run into drama..its part of it. Indian, I would like you to IM me if possible about chances of Barker and where she would be interested in playing college ball. I have been out of the recruting loop some, but still have coaches call me.

People are not going to like every coach that you have. I just think it is sad for people to act the way they do. I am a supporter of coaches because of the heat they have to endure. Seems like college coaches don't have it as bad living close to 2 colleges in my area because the parents are not around all the time. From the outside looking in I believe the kids are not truly the problem. Mtnman, people like you could be what causes drama on teams. To get on here and say she will not be missed is simply your opinion. I would bet you are the guy that I was talking about behaving bad at the games I attended. Almost made me not want to root for Grundy until I told you moved in to Grundy and transfered your child. May not be you, but more than likely is. What about the Jones kid from CCS? Will her knee be healed? Who is the coach now at Bledsoe? Was she a former player at Bledsoe from the mid 90's?

I was able to watch a couple of games at Wes Moore's team camp. Was glad to see Bledsoe and Seq. there as well. I also enjoyed watching Coach Tuckers team camp at Wesleyan this year as well. Grundy should defend their title, but its not going to be an easy task for them. I look for Jones to be hungry since having to miss last years title game. Was saddened to see Bledsoe and Grundy's head coaches gone in this district. Woodlee, the daughter, will be greatly missed. Classy young lady with a great head on her shoulders. Boynton was a class act himself. I always enjoyed getting to watch when he coached the guys, but he did a good job with the ladies as well. Sad to see good coaches get out of the game, but these days and times the parents have not been respectful of the coaches. Even with Tucker at Walker Valley as successful as he was, amazed me at how people griped about him. I have been at Grundy games and heard a disrespectful dad. Bledsoe I will have to say (the few games I have attended) their fans seem to be good people. Indian, how young is Seq. this year?

Great game last night and win by Grundy! I was suprised reading the paper this morning that it has been that long since Grundy has won a championship. #34 shot better than I have ever seen her shoot. I have seen her several times this year and not seen her shoot that well. Did she even make the All District team? Sarcasarasm, knowing that you have something against Grundy is why I am assuming you posted your post. If you have followed this district at all you know that Watson has not played but maybe a game all year and Jones hurt her knee. You are wanting to say this is the only reason Grundy won. You are a Grundy County hater. Gives props where props are due.

Good atmosphere in this game until the end. The foul was unnecessary, these are high school kids and do get frustrated and sometimes things like that happen. I am not sure though what happened after the push because people started standing up in front of me. Some of the Seq. fans were talking that Grundy's asst. coach pushed a player. What is the penalty for this if he even did or did not?

Is Wiseman injured? She seemed to have a limp and normally has alot of points and normally plays more. Good game by Grundy for 3 quarters and good game by Seq. for 1 qtr. Not sure why Grundy was not able to break that press, but from here on out they will see harder presses. Refs allowed the girls to play which was to Grundy's advantage. I was glad to see them play aggressive defense. Good luck to both teams in the tourney.

Grundys' stongest guard in my opinion doesn't play that much. #11 is their best one. The guards are definetly not Grundy's strength and Marion may pose a problem there...however do y'all have any post? Grundy have 2 good post players. Could be a good game.

Indian, CCS is playing outstanding basketball. I had a chance to watch them over the holidays as well in the tourney. They all hustle on both ends of the court and are determined to win. I have also watched Livingston and Cannon on the region side, but I do not think any of 7AA teams can compete with them. I maybe wrong, but I do not see it happening.

A majority of your posts are about the the Grundy boys knowing their players names starters and bench players. Are you a jealous Grundy fan?

In no way at all was I talking personally bad about the Freshmen pt guard. I think right now as a Freshmen she sees the floor better than the Sr. pt. gd last year. I have seen 3 games this year and the 2 I watched she really impressed me and the CCS game she did not play as good. I agree with the post that she has only played a few varsity games and that is to be expected her messing up. I apologize if her or her family took my post the wrong way. As for being a stalker...nowhere close. I just enjoy watching good girls basketball. I like watching this district. People do like to start stuff and make it drama, but in no way was I trying to do that.

Indian, When you were talking about going ahead and rooting for Grundy...I am not from Grundy, but like watching them. I like watching this district. I live in the Harrison, Cleveland area and venture over to watch Bradley/Walker/CLeveland as well. I always have liked watching Seq. teams coached by Barker even when they were not winning...5 or so years ago. I believe she gets things out of her players whether liked by parents or not. I started going to some CCS games more so when they joined this district however I do remember watching when the coach's daughter played and the post player that went D1. They were fun to watch and still are b/c they are scrappy. I watched Grundy for awhile when they went to the state tourney in 98 I was at all 3 games. I followed Woodlee, the coach there now, in her collegiate career at CSCC and Lee University. She also coached AAU in the area and took that team to the state. That is why I guess I am partial to Grundy b/c it seems I have more of a connection there. I did attend the CCS and Grundy game and the turnovers were OUT OF THIS WORLD. I do not believe I have seen a Grundyteam turn it over that much in awhile. I have watched them this year and the biggest difference from last to this year was the point guard could see the floor and hardly made mistakes. Last night it seemed that was all she could do. I look for the district tourney to be a good one though. Bledsoe is not a bad team, Seq. will just get better, CCS will remain at the top I believe and Grundy will be battling for that top spot. I am not from either school. I have watched Seq. and Grundy play different people besides the game Friday night. Grundy is FAR better than Seq. They won the game regardless of offensive rebounds, etc. you LOST...not matter if by one point, 10, 20...you LOST. There is always a reason why you lost and its hardly ever Seq. girls fault. I will not be able to make the game at Grundy, but I do not see it being close at all. Give credit where credit is due. Grundy does need to work on their defense. As far as the girl guarding #42 stopping her...not at all. #42 stopped #42

If #42 for Grundy would have played like she has been it wouldn't have been close. I was looking for the post from GC to dominate. Gc missed alot of their fts as well. At GC I dont see this game being close at all. Good win though for GC to stay undefeated. Seq. is a decent ball team. I still think it will come down to CCS and Gc though.

Very good game. Score couldv'e been worse with Grundy winning by alot. The Freshman is IMPRESSIVE!! Very, very pleased I went to watch this game to see how she is going to be. The 2 post players are good as well. I like following this team. Is Grundy playing anywhere for Thanksgiving?
