MC should not be able to compete with Camden and I think Camden does roll.. As far as Creekwood goes, I have seen both teams play and if Camdens secondary reacts to the pass like they did against the few that Huntington threw (especially the play action and I'm sorry Huntington but that was not a touchdwn!) they should come out on top. CW has a huge DLT but to slow to matter but the QB is good and a good WR to boot (watch the offensive left sideline).

Kindly check the new alignment and you will notice that 6 of the 10 games that JB played or will play this season are out of thier control including the game this week against HC. 3 of the 4 other non-region games were "touted as formidable opponents" (said to be equal or better compared to JB). It is not always easy to find games when you have had several good seasons in a row, 54-6 since 2005. Thank you for your concern though, it is appreciated and duely noted. We also appreciate your assumption that we will be in the State Championship VS South Pitt, however I am sure that JB is playing one game at a time as is South Pitt.

I'm not from Camden or Huntingdon but i don't think even i could sit through this one! Should be a good one! I would like to see the rain hold off but thats part of it both teams have to play in it! You're absolutely right. Now their choices are limited. (you can see available games on the TSSAA website) The fact is not all coaches want to play a tough schedule and Jo Byrns has had an awesome run over the last several years. I can see the logic in weaker 2 and 3 A teams not wanting to play a JB, TC, or SP, They don't gain anything and the weaker 1A teams don't want to take a beating either. But everything eventually cycles.

Here's what I got; 68 26-13 ER 72 12-6 JB 78 JB 83 ER 86 20-6 ER 90 12-6 ER 91 42-7 ER 92 14-7 ER ER opened as JB did in 1949. Along with Greenbriar High School. All 3 had the same floorplan and design. The new ER school was opened in 1990. 1974??? was won by JB after 5 OT's. (was a state record at the time) !975??? was won by ER. ER had a student/player die of meningitus and the game was postponed. When the game was played it was very muddy/rainy and ER moved a big TE to FB which JB couldn't stop. I have info stating 1959 as an undefeated season but there were multiple ties (2-4) depending on source. Somewhere between 51 and 53 there was a 2 loss season both coming at the hands of Charlotte.

OK folks, the "Jo Byrns 2009 schedule" thread got turned into the JB vs ER history. So I have retitled it hopefully to draw some more information. To give a little background "Shep" and "Motto24" want to have a trophy made to be passed back and forth between these 2 schools. Similar to the TN vs KY "Barrel Bowl" or the Alabama vs Auburn "Iron Bowl" On this trophy they would like to include the winners and scores of all preceding games. You see where this is headed don't you? That's where everybody else comes in. Below I have listed the information I have compiled and encourage all to add, take away or correct. The year, winner, and score are the main things but anything even the smallest amount would be helpful. Certain details about the game are encouraged. (i.e. delayed game in 05 or mud bowl in 88) The info so far has been collected via annuals, newspapers, internet, word of mouth and a little memory so there is no guaruntee its 100% correct. Games that an ER or JB are listed to the right of the year is the winner but I don't have a score. Have fun. OK, now back to scheduling.................... JB only has 9 games at this point. They are open in week 0 and week 3. Cannon Co was on for week 3 but backed out. Jo Byrns will be playing Todd Co (KY) but not sure as to which week. Randy Thomas (former Springfield coach) has been the coach there for the past 5 years or so. Personally I like the Todd Co matchup. I think it has the potential for a great rivalry. Similar size, similar communities, and not to far away just one is in TN and the other in KY.
