  1. He tore his ACL(I think that's what my son told me) at the end of his 3rd match at IU against Monaco from Indiana. He was winning the match by a big margin with about 20 sec's left in the 3rd period when it happened. He did win when both wrestlers stood still in the center for the remaining sec's. Seth Seneca wrestled the remaining 2 matches at the tourney.
  2. Looks like everybody else except you folks in Alabama thinks it was bad judgement to ref the match. I emailed the main USA wrestling website and they cautiously replied that he should not have ref'd the match! It was bad judgement and a self preservation mentality has scales over your eyes. Just admit it was bad judgement--take it on the chin and stop trying to justify it. And this was a very close match--3 or so points in which 1 point was given when he kicked the coach out--a couple calls different and outcome different--it's at the least a tainted/scarred win for the AL Red team. Who wants to win when it appears that the coach and ref are in cahoots-oh thats right they are not in cahoots they are just brothers--no conflict of interest- Common sense says don't do it but common sense is not too common at the Dixie Duals!!!!!!!!
  3. Looks like Mr devout christian needs a lesson in being above reproach. If he is truly a devout christian, shouldn't he want to publicly apologize for having poor judgement in reffing the match anyway ? Or do y'all still think it is okay to have a person ref his brothers match?
  4. Your post is a feeble attempt to divert the attention away from dishonorable behavior. I'm not sure what you think you will achieve on a TN post posting irrationally trying to justify behavior that will never be justified!
  5. Scott Thanks for your heart felt post! I will address a couple of items you bring up; 1. The decision to leave was made after our coaches had requested to start the final match without taking a long break but was told no by AL red team because they wanted to go home for a break and freshen up, take showers, eat etc. Unfortunately team TN would have had to hang out at the gym with out a place to relax and freshen up waiting on AL Red to get back. We all had 3 plus hours top drive and wanted to finish up. 2. You said you pretty much agree that the coaches brother should not have officiated the match. Shouldn't you totally agree? Common sense and wisdom says a person should be above reproach in a circumstance such as this one. It seems that instead of lecturing us about honor, loyalty, sportsmanship you should be lecturing the AL Red coach and his brother about integrity, trust and good judgement.
  6. I did and realized my error after it was too late. I posted it late and the next morning woke up and logged in and had a good chuckle. I was wondering how long it would take someone on this board to pipe up and correct me /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />
  7. I was/am very proud of our team. TN was represented well!!!!!. I also want to thank Shawn Cordell and Josh Bosken. The team was well coached and physically/mentally up for the task. I had an opportunity to interface with most of these young men over the past few weeks and I have to say they are outstanding young men.
  8. I have sent an email to USA wrestling about it. In the mean time, I noticed that the refs had AHSAA on there shirts so I researched and found this regarding the rules for refs re:this issue. It's page 24 from the AHSAA rule book--read # 7........ AHSAA MINIMUM STANDARDS Regular Associations 1. A planned rules program will be conducted at each meeting. Topic assignments will be made in advance and covered thoroughly before other areas or topics may be discussed.
  9. Team Tenn just lost to Alabama red team by three points but...................as they were wrestling we were noticing strange behavior from the ref along with very questionable calls in AL favor ----then the ref kicks one of our coaches out of building. Well wouldn't you know it, the ref and the AL team coach are brothers. What else should we expect from AL.
  10. Team Tenn defeats Alabama Select team in round 3
  11. Team Tenn shuts out Louisiana gold team in round 1 Team Tenn defeats GA Blue team losing only 1 match ( 160lb) round 2
  12. Hey Shootfirst, no poaching going on by the Team TN coaches. They posted an open invitation to anyone in the state and I inquired about my son joining the team. After talking with the coaches and then observing the first 2 practices this past weekend, I am thoroughly impressed!! I was also impressed with the overall attitude of the wrestlers from the Chattanooga/Cleveland area attending the practices. I know that the coaches are wanting good wrestlers to represent TN regardless of what part of the state they come from.
  13. Sorry I actually thought they were seniors. They do deserve recognition whether juniors or seniors! (maybe on another post)
  14. Randall Taylor(BC) Bailey Jones(Cleve) Two more outstanding young men who truly deserve to be recognized with the group that is considered to be the best! I think the guys who placed would agree. I know one who does.
  15. I have a son who is a senior wrestler at Independence High school. They have wrestled Clarksville 3 times this year and all 3 times were in Clarksville(the 3rd being the state tourney). Let me say not once did we feel anything but respect and admiration for coach Jordan and never did my wife or I feel like he tried to use unfair home field advantage tactics. We actually sat in the middle of the Clarksville fans for the state match. When we realized we were surrounded by Clarksville fans we almost moved but decided to stay because of the great view. Not once did we feel any wierdness and all we saw were family and friends doing the same thing we were doing--rooting for our team to win!!! I say shame on the newspaper guy in Chatt for using his paper as a tool to personally attack coach Jordan!! Just another example of mainstream media misusing a platform to communicate a biased agenda!!
  16. great--I'll leave my pink '79 pimped out Yugo in your trusted hands /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  19. any suggestions on where to park at UTC next week during the state tournament?
  20. Hey Rigger, Where is the good parking located if you don't mind sharing?
  21. I totally agree that the best thing for the sport would be to have the best teams at the state tournament regardless of geography. Tssaa really should find a way to fix that debacle. Also, the Cleveland and Chattanooga area wrestling programs are like the programs I"ve seen in the Midwest. There are other strong pockets in Tn and more area's will continue to get stronger if they the develop programs starting the kids at a young age along with the schools hiring good coaches.
  22. Hey Bear, what bayou you from? bayouself /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> just kidding--I'm from cajun land myself. JS
  23. I totally agree!! My son started wrestling while we were living in Indianapolis Indiana during his 8th grade year due to his football coach strongly recommending he wrestle because he was a smaller athlete . During the 3 years he was in that system, each weight class was at least 3 deep with kids ready to step up. They are serious about starting them young!
