Girls and championship rings unite May 5,2010!!!

Looks good on paper but I'm not real certain coach Britton could serve on staff such as current one. Plus the threat of replacement to REAL if you catch my drift gang! Do you really think coach A is gonna hire someone that is old school Riverdale Football? Lets face it the past is just that, don't get me wrong I would love to see a coach with as much class and structure as coach Britton has return but it ain't ganna happen.

Congrats Shacobia Barbee for being named player of the year. Congrats Hillary Hodges for being named coach of the year. These awards come after many countless hours of hard work. It's a great time for girls basketball at RHS!!! Ladies keep up the hard work in the weight room and enjoy being champions. Go Lady Warriors #1 2007' 2010'

A little national recognition is nice and even if some think its meaningless others will look back and see it more like brick work. Just keep laying em' down one at a time. Enjoy some time off and lets do it again next year!

I can remember back when G.R. was RHS football and you would hear of kids from Fla., Cookeville and the B'oro. wanting to play for the best. If you were to ask me can the same thing be done with the girls basketball program I would reply, "It just finished pouring the foundation for the ground work"!!! The writing on the wall came last year when TSSAA (I refrain from mentioning names of others envolved bhs) attempted to put the breaks on a program that was ready to EXPLODE w/ success. Now it's time to RELOAD for next year. GO LADY WARRIORS!!!

This was a senior lead team with 6 in and out of the line up every game. Jaclissa was the leader and her on and off the floor leadership will be hard to replace. First team will have only one spot to fill as Olivia and Ty are battle tested. Maybe one or two of the 5 juniors that rode the pine will step it up this off season and make a showing their senior year, that would be good but after this year you have to factor in the possibility of a top notch transfer or two. Q. Will TSSAA spend the money that it takes to purchase rings for the state champions in all classifications or after charging $10.00 and $12.00 the past 3 days to the girls that have siblings over the age of two will mom and dad have to break little jr's piggy bank? I ask this with a bad gut feeling

HOW SWEET IT IS!!! The Riverdale Lady Warriors are 7 AAA season champs, 7 AAA district champs, region 4 AAA champs and now (still) with tears in my eye's I give you the 2010' TSSAA STATE CHAMPION RIVERDALE HIGH SCHOOL LADY WARRIORS!!! OMG what a season. What a ride. You ladies would not be denied and your hard work with determination captured the hearts of our community. You inspired us to never give in and never allow those that would bring you down to succeed. I will for one always remember the grit, determination and togetherness this TEAM brought into light every time they walked on to the playing floor. From all of my family to the coaches, players and managers we say, "WE LOVE YOU" and congrats!!!!!!!!

Great job MJ keep your heads high it's a shame someone had to go down, just two awesome basketball teams. They say, this Riverdale is on some type of "Mission" started last year when some powers that be tried to put there THUMB were it did'nt belong. Somebody kicked the wrong nest!!!

BEST game of the tournament hands down!!! To bad it was not for a title, thats on TSSAA. Just imagine what the gate would have done if this had of been 6pm Sat night (when the towns people would have been at the game instead of listening over a radio from work). It's a shame one of these two really great basketball teams had to leave in the first round. Just doesnt seen right and didnt seem right having to pay $10.00ea. for a 3 and 5 year old to sit in my lap only to go to sleep after the first quarter because their to little to understand basketball at that age!!! I would love to talk with the person that decided to charge full admission to age 3 and up. I really thought this was a family event, I mean come on guys. TSSAA + NO COMMON SINCE = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

MJ is a very good team and maybe the best in Tn.? If Riverdale gets down by 20 again like they did earlier this season at MJ it will be very difficult for Riverdale to come back again I just hope we can keep it close and some how find a way to win Both of these teams will have had 4 days to get ready for each other and this is one of those first round games that will fill and look alot like a championship is on the line. No predictions in this one, I just hope to hear that P.P.I. cheer when its all over. Get Ready LW!!!

Clevelands coach had to be happy with the flow of this game, being on the road. The way the refs decided to let em' elbow (Barbies eye looked bad), push and kick well, scratch kick ect... The effort to slow the game worked (double & triple down) until 3rd. and Cleveland who relied on put backs off missed shots from out side had no answer for the many 3s that Riverdale would deliver. I think it even helped to open the eye's of this crew working the game. Q. Does TSSAA do random drug testing on officials? I hope they do so and often.

If TSSAA even gives a crap about the poor jobs these so called refs are doing then heres the film to watch!!! My favorite in this one is 1st half, Cleveland in bounds the ball clean in the corner and another player for Cleveland is coming hard at the play, she runs over the girl with the ball and they both go to the floor hard, the ref. is on top of the play, looks at this turns and calls a foul on Henry. Watch 4 your self and view how far Henry is away from any contact made by the two Cleveland players running into one another. The elbows would have cost a player in NBA $, in high school if the TSSAA doesnt give a crap then the coaches tell the players to do what ever the !@#$ will let you get away with!!!

(hope BHS does well in their sub-state road trip, but that's a tall order) It is a tall order but Blackman did it last year so I know they know they can do it. Good luck to the blaze and safe travels to east tn., as much fun as it is beating you guys (x4!) thru the reg. season I will support you tonight and hope you represent district 7 AAA well!! Go District 7 AAA Teams!!!
