  1. Glad somebody else noticed that. I'm pretty sure McCallie's Chase Martino had a slight cough. Surely he should be on the all-star team instead of Cash.... right?
  2. If D-I and D-II were combined, who would be left standing out of the two divisions? --- I guess what I'm trying to perceive here is everyone's thoughts on a Tennessee team that would contain the best of the best. --- 103: 112: 119: 125: 130: 135: 140: 145: 152: Justin Cash 160: 171: 189: 215: HWT: You pick 'em
  3. Hey, no one said anything about that. I would wrestle if I was sick too, trust me. I wouldn't be stopping the match 3 different times so that coach connel can come over to me and talk strategy, as well as getting some water down my cotton-mouthed throat. Congratulations Michael Hooker for making it t the state finals while you were sick. Is that what you expect people to say? Sick or not, Doster wrestled a spectacular match, and I believe he earned what he deserved. I was never one to make excuses for anyone, so how about we put an end to this thread. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE STATE CHAMPIONS OF 2009.
  4. This topic has really been abused, but might I just add something to the topic of interest. Fact #1: Hooker is an incredible wrestler. Fact #2: Hooker has great balance and a wonderful feel for the mat. Fact #3: Hooker RARELY goes a full 6 minute match - good for him, that is something to be proud of. Fact #4: Doster pushed him to that 6 minute match that he hasn't expereienced all season. Fact #5: Hooker didn't know what to do when his gameplan was dismantled. Fact #6: Best match in the entire state tournament? YES I'm not sure what all the Baylor fans were screaming, but the one chant I will agree with is simply this: "Being out of shape is NOT an injury" If you are too sick to wrestle, then swallow your pride like Cole Hayes did and sit it out. You are a freshmen in high school Hooker. Wrestling is a GAME. Life is NOT a game. End of story.
  5. CBHS most certainly has a spectacular shot at this thing now that Baylor's Hayes is out of the race. I'd place my bet on CBHS over FH if Baylor can't pull it off again. The purple wave have the best team they've had in a long long time, as their team in strong, talented, and full of many guys that will place in the top 3.
  6. Well now that the shoe flying off at "the right time," has been blown up and everyone will be looking for it, can we expect to see the waving of the index finger around to indicate "an injury" or is that an obsurd observation as well? Either way, aside from the 125 lb match, what kind of "upsets" can we expect through-out the tournament?
  7. Oh no no no... IHSV, you've got it all wrong my good sir. Baylor people have their own opinion, but mine is not one of them. I happen to come from Chatt-Town myself, but Baylor is not my game. I am merely a spectator to this day: no kids. However, his is exactly why I came into this topic. I have upset some feelings, and that is what my primary goal was. But if I were you, I wouldn't put down one of the Doctor's sons - he can get into what he does, and that doesn't mean just in his dentistry practice. Hehe
  8. Chattanooga is by far the largest wrestling city with the most wrestling interest in the wide state of Tennessee. Nashville is too difficult to get around, Memphis is too far away from the rest of the state, and Knoxville is has lost its fan base over the last 10 years to the point where a team is lucky to fill 14 spots on the line-up. UTC has an uprising program that brings in support and interest to our state in wrestling in general. McKenzie Arena is a spectacular place to have the State Wrstling tounrmanet, FITS EVERYONE INSIDE, and is extremely well-run. There are nice hotels, and grows larger and larger every year. Saturday finals work much better for everyone, but as it has been stated before, Wed, Thurs, Fri state tournament will draw a larger audience than thurs, fri, sat anywhere else i nthe state.
  9. Perhaps we can ask Mr. Allen Jones since I know he has pretty good connections to the media. That would be nice for the "people who can't get off work" to watch it in TV or on the internet if they are out of town.
  10. Funny you should bring that up and no one has responded to it, B-Fan... I too have seen the cheating strategy by mccallie's young 125 lber. Not to often does this kid need to kick his shoe off, but when he gets pushed to that level there is no doubt that thing is coming off. As far as the referees catching on to this... SURELY THEY HAVE cought on just as we all do. Cheating to win has never been something to be proud of in my book.
  11. Best finals match: 119 - Daniel Baucke vs. Alex Manley (Manley Wins) Eye Opening Match: 125 - Stuart Doster vs. Michael Hooker (Doster Wins) Most Brutal Beating: 112 - Zach Watson vs. everyone he touches (Watson Wins... again)
  12. Baylor wins 98-0. 84 points coming from pins and another 14 points of un-sports-man-like conduct. 1 pt per match awarded to baylor.
  13. You heard wrong. Cole is strong as can be and ready to rumble. Aint nothin can stop this young man from going in there and pounding heads with anyone.
  14. This topic is ridiculous, but the people that complain about the rankings are absolutely ridiculous. Its all in good fun. nothing to get heated over.
  15. This match will not be close at all. Frances hasn't had his best year and neither has simpson. MBA has got some work to do for next year to catch up to FH. Good luck to both teams and may the seniors have the most fun FH-MBA matchup in their careers. This is the last so have fun with it and wrestle hard.
  16. As far as D-I goes, I would say Bradley is in the driver seat sailing smooth. D-II: Baylor 1st (Coaching Staff gets better and better each year) McCallie 2nd (After a very close upset over Father Ryan in Semi's) F. Ryan 3rd
