  1. You are correct saying this is a competitive district, any given night everyone has to play hard to win, but i think this is gonna be a 5 team race instead of 3, talent level is great, good luck in your game Monday against Sumter, SC done a little research on them they look like a pretty good team with size, good to meet you in person to, see you down the road in another gym somewhere. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL
  2. I agree with you HOOPSGURU, both of these teams will be in the mix when all is said and done in this district, the Falcons are quick and dangerous, Campbell can go off at any time for 40 points and the rest of the team is getting better everyday, as for the Patriots they have 1 of the bigger teams in the district, Buckner and Cox can step up any night for 20 to 30 points apiece, this district is gonna produce some outstanding games. Gonna be very interesting. :thumb:
  3. Now now MMcCroskey, you still aint showing no love for Union County in the district, They came to GP and should have won the game up by 5 and then missed the front end of 2 one and ones to let GP get back in the game and finally pull out a hard fought 3 point win, I am sure Union County will have that rematch marked on their calendar when GP comes down there. I said earlier I think they are a contender in the district.
  4. Congrats to Greeneville, Alcoa, Maryville and Webb for bringing state championships to East Tenn, I have been fortunate enough to see all of them play except Webb, I know this is not going to be popular with some people, but if i was rating the other 3 teams it would be Alcoa, Maryville and Greeneville in that order, that being said i believe these 3 teams are the best in the state regardless of classification, would love to see alcoa and greeneville get together, that would be 1 heck of a game.
  5. I agree fulton will be tough always are, went to central monday and seen carter play they are gonna be tough, gibbs was also there and i was mildly surprised at their quickness, but they seem to live or die by the 3 ball, not sure in this district that will work.
  6. If Betsy has any speed the field at GP will be muddy even if it is 80 degrees. lol
  7. williewho, you have got to be a really young person, if you thinkwest tn football is better than easttn football, young man you need to go back for the last 30 years and look who brought home the most gold balls i will say in single A you may have more but in AA and AAA it is probaly 2 to 1 or better for easttn, middletn probaly has more than west.
  8. Sorry about that bud, didnt pay that much attention to AAAA or AAA when i seen the record was incorrect for 2008, kinda got a chuckle out of that, seriously just kinda jawing on my part, whoever wins Friday night between Greeneville and Gibbs i will be for the rest of the way in the playoffs, i am for East Tenn teams when it gets farther in and we start seeing the Middle and West TN teams, good luck Friday night would like to see yory game but i am going to Alcoa and CAK it is closer.
  9. Well barb, i took your advice and went to greenevillefootball.com to see if i was right or greeneville2012 was right about greeneville being in AAA in 2008, seems i was right, they were in AAA in 2008, but since you told me to go there i did and lo and behold they say their record was 11 and 2, seems they forget to count their season ending loss to Maryville in their record for the year, you might want to tell someone to update that to 11 and 3 for the season. Dang those Blount County teams. lol
  10. I guess everyone in this District is still trying to figure out what kind of team they have since noone has posted about any team.
  11. My bad greeneville 2012, but i thought you were just put in the district you are now in last year, maybe you need to be sure you are right, i thought the year before last you were in AAA.
  12. Dang this pat our selves on the back greeneville topic is interesting reading, just wondering what kind of record the greene devils had before they got into the powerful District they were put in last year by T$$AA. :roflol:
  13. I agree with you on Carter and GP, not sure AE will be that strong, they are going to be a young team and will have some growing pains, but with that said having Lopez back will really help.
  14. ok where are my buddies, Turtle, Photoman, and MMcroskey its time to talk about AE, Fulton, GP, Gibbs, Pigeon Forge, Union County and Carter, hoops time in 3AA it dont get any better.
  15. Ok its about BBall time lets hear some talk about what is sure to be one of the toughest districts in AA this year
  16. I have seen the billboards and i thought it was kinda funny, they dont win one very often let them celebrate, lol, the really funny part is photoman from fulton and turtle from AE are the ones commenting about it, this post will probaly get interesting, shoot let gibbs have some fun it may be 20 more years before they win another. lol
  17. You are correct MMcCroskey the reference was to Cox and Buckner, Cox has grown this year to 6'6 Buckner is 6'5 and the Vitas kid who did not play last year is 6'5, if Union County gets a ballhandler this year they will be able to compete with Carter and GP, their inside game will be hard to handle this year, and if they can get a call this year at GP (ala last year lol) they will be in most games they play, also the transfer to Fulton this year at the point is as good as the kid at AE, cant wait for bball this district is gonna be strong.
  18. I saw AE against Morristown and GP, seen Gibbs against Fulton and Union County, this is gonna be a great game between 2 good teams, cant wait to see outcome, still think Gibbs wins by 9.
  19. Knoxville Carter should be able to play with anyone in the state this year in AA, another darkhorse in East Tenn no one is talking about is Union County, being in the district with Carter, AE, Fulton and GP they are getting overlooked this year, but if they find a point guard they will be tough, inside starting 6'6 6'5 and 6'5 this team will be tough to defend. Cant wait til the season tips off.
  20. I was highly impressed by the kicker for Gibbs Turtle you need to go see this game the kid kicks almost to the endzone on kickoffs and is pretty consistent from 35 to 40 yards on field goals almost automatic on extra points and i was told from someone from Gibbs he is a sophomore. If it comes down to kicking game AE is in trouble.
  21. Let me give a shot at predicting this game, I have seen AE and Gibbs play twice this season, AE has a little more overall speed, Gibbs has a little more size, both teams are not very good at passing the ball, the key to the game as i see it gibbs is a little quicker than people think, and their blocking schemes are not really to block, they just kinda step in front of the defender to give their backs time to turn up field, they are going to give AE fits on the corners, now for AE, they like to run toward the line of scrimmage looking for any kind of hole to open up, once the hole opens they hit it and will not be caught from behind. That all said i predict Gibbs 35 AE 26.
  22. This subject has been going on since early this season if Mr. Anderson and Judge Irwin think this kid needs repeated chances now that football and basketball season is over let need take him home with them and rehab him from there, i bet both of them will wash their hands of him now that his athletic career is over, Pryor has gotten several chances just because he is a great athlete, but i would be willing to bet everybody throws him overboard now that he cant win NOMORE games for Always Eligible, i also dont think Coach Mitchell was really hating having him on the team so everyone responsible needs to step up and except responsibility for his actions ENOUGH SAID.
  23. If this fight really happened, and according to other people it must have, the administration at AE and Coach Mitchell himself should have to take some of the blame, it has been said all year that Pryor was a loose cannon waiting to go off again, yet he still gets put back on the court to play, so should the school itself take some blame for this incident happening? Is win at all costs the only thing that matters at AE?
  24. Is there any truth to the rumor that Pryor is in the Cumberland County Jail after beating a teammate up in the locker room last night after losing to Stone Memorial, if this is true it is a shame and something needs to be done. Where were the coaches when this fight was going on!!!!!!!!
  25. Come on Luvgolf, just because the kid is talented doesn't give him the right to break laws and still remain eligible, if he played for any other school in Knoxville he would have been out of chances long ago, and you being a AE (Always Eligible) fan should be the first one to admit that. What about the other kids on the team who practice hard everyday day then give up their playing time to him when the LIGHTS come on for game time, just because it gives Always Eligible a better chance for victory. AE motto WIN AT ALL COSTS, give me a break.
