  1. Weezy, I'm so glad to read that you're a fan of my posts. Maybe I'll start my own blog and you can be the first member! Exciting, I know! Look, I made a comment directly related to this game to end all games thread. If my one sentence post took so much time from your life that you were unable to enjoy the rest of your day without thinking about that self-absorbed poster from Seymour constantly talking about the soccer program he supports, I apologize. At no point did I say anything off topic whatsoever. I gave you a tidbit of information that you may or may not have known beforehand. Take it for what it's worth. If you were truly a soccer fan, you would be as excited as I am that the sport's popularity is taking roots in areas other than those traditionally known as powerhouses. Good luck with your narrow-minded approach to life. I hope that works out for you. If your and catboy's budding friendship doesn't blossom, I suggest you associate yourself with someone that embraces soccer as a sport that is open to everyone to play and discuss no matter their geographical placement. UCsoccer, I couldn't agree more with your post. Thank you for your comments.
  2. If they do I'm not going to be there haha. With the intense rivalry as a factor, both teams will be going all out. I don't think either coach would want to take the chance of injury. This might seem off the wall, but I would also think that both coaches believe they have the better squad and if played on a sloppy field, the opponent might come away with a "lucky" win. IMHO, I don't think that's a chance either coach will be willing to take.
  3. Balboa, thank you for the compliment. I appreciate you seeing that one poster's comments do not express the views of us all. You, too, post with class, and I feel like this will only work positively for the program at Berean. Good luck with the rest of your season.
  4. Fair enough, Weezy. I'll forget about where I grew up and the team I support and start obsessing about the teams you mentioned just because you're getting annoyed. Or how about I just talk about those teams, which I know very little about comparatively, and make posts like yours that really add nothing? Man, I sure am glad you said this because all this time my loyalty lied with the wrong team! Thanks Weezy. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> I added the post because I felt it was an interesting side note.
  5. Moser took that kick right? That's a Seymour transplant.
  6. Wow, way to put it on 'em G! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  7. Ref, I agree with everything you just said...except the first sentence lol. Whether you are on the field, in the stands, or on the internet, if you are a parent, fan, player, or avid spectator then you do represent the team with which your comments are associated. If I recall correctly even Coach Norwood posted a while back asking you to tone down your comments because it reflects poorly upon the program and the community. While some of your posts may be entertaining, the vast majority are negative in nature. Posters to this board that haven't seen Seymour play or don't know much about the team only have our posts on which to base their opinions. I hope to build respect for the program, and I hope at some point you'll do the same.
  8. So easttnref dug that "ditch" in front of the home goal like he said he would? I thought he was kidding around. I guess he got a jump start on April Fool's! /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> Did he cover it up when Berean defended that goal?

    HAHA! Talk about making someone's day! I love it! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  10. Seymour's Jacob Lindsey scored the first goal 13 seconds into play. /motorbike.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":motorbike:" border="0" alt="motorbike.gif" /> WOW! The first half ended with Seymour leading 3-1. Berean's keeper was athletic and made some quality saves coming out of the net for them. Goals for Seymour came from Lindsey, Alex Shelton, Michael Mitchell, Robel Scott, and Carson Jones. The last two are freshmen. Despite the early season online tension, the match was physical but played cleanly on both sides. Good luck to the Berean squad for the rest of the season.
  11. I'm getting pretty good (or lucky) with these predictions. I said 4-1 in the other thread /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> . Haha. Thanks for the congrats akula. Keep those district wins comin' Eagles!
  12. I'll say Seymour 4, Berean 1. Should be an interesting game either way with the hype surrounding it.
  13. Akula, I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiments. I think I can speak for the entire Seymour staff in saying that ref's comments are in no way a true reflection of the program. Bobby has worked extremely hard to get the team where they are today, and what you're saying, regardless of motives, is detrimental. I also heard that the call was questionable. Apparently some of the Seymour fans felt like their defenders legs were taken out with a slide in order to score the goal or something to that effect. I wasn't there nor would my opinion of it change if I had been. Say the call was missed. I highly doubt it was intentional. Most likely, it was a player doing the exact same thing Seymour's boys do, hustle. Calls are missed all the time. While that particular play at that particular time in a big district game may be a tough pill to swallow, it's still one that's got to go down. The past is the past, it's time to move on and represent, as a fan, the positive qualities that you should want to see from these young men as players.

...except the team that already beat you I assume. 5-1 right?
  15. Thanks for the link, mjuhb, and for taking the time to do the rankings as well. It's always nice to see Tennessee teams ranked among the best in the nation. With Bearden and Farragut being closely ranked on both lists, the intense rivalry is multiplied going into Friday night's game. I have to agree with ref's assessments. Seymour lost a close one to a great team and rival in Alcoa and dropped a match to Maryville in a game that was much closer than the final score infers. Catholic, on the other hand, lost to a quality, yet unranked, side in Loudon. I'm interested to see how the rest of the season and postseason unfolds.
  16. I think LilG is an aspiring rapper...
  17. I think you spoke a little prematurely, akula. Not until "Oh Snap!" is posted in a topic does it get interesting. And what's wrong with huggin' it out?
  18. There is a thread already devoted to this topic. If you check in there you'll get most of your questions answered.
  19. That's right, my bad. I'm not taking sides in the public vs. private debate, but aren't a few private schools moving up as well, no matter population? Seems like I heard that Catholic would be moving up a division in football because it was a private school competing with publics. I could be wrong. Maybe only football is getting totally reclassified etc. How is CAK going to be classified next year? You don't antagonize me, nor do I hate you. I just don't agree with some of your points or how you make them. I think we should all just hug it out.
  20. What a shame for all involved. I commend the Fulton AD for levying the punishment he did. I also wonder what type of punishment the Gibbs team got, if any, and the reasoning behind it. Do they feel less at fault, etc.?
  21. This would definitely be an excellent opportunity for any coach. Having to face Seymour in the region might turn a lot of the applicants away though. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> jk G, good luck in the search, and I'm sure you and the staff will find a great replacement for Coach Pifer. I don't know about the other stuff that ref says on here (more so on the men's board), but that one got a chuckle out of me.
  22. I probably want a rematch as much as those closely involved haha. It definitely was closer than most expected and that, to me, is a win in and of itself. From what I hear, Seymour did an excellent job strategically with their game plan. While I am a bit partial, I feel that this is a great credit to their coaching staff. The district title may seem out of reach, but stranger things have happened. As long as Seymour takes care of business through the rest of the season, everything else will fall in place. Either way, while homefield advantage is nice, if you want it bad enough, the location of the pitch is meaningless. G, I might splurge for the plus. I spend enough time on here as is, I might as well support the site.
  23. Thanks a lot, G, the feeling is reciprocated. The C-N does stand for Carson-Newman. I'm class of 06.
  24. Game Over Alcoa-2 Seymour-1 Congrats to akula and the Alcoa squad.
  25. Still tied 1-1 at half. Alex Shelton scored for Seymour off an assist from Jacob Lindsey.
