im pretty sure the west tn teams are traveling just as well as any other teams in the tournament right now. i can assure you that gc and westview will have SEVERAL fans in attendance friday for the semifinals.

I just hope the stripes keep that whistle around their necks and let'em play. Both teams like to run so they better check the lights on the scoreboard. I know Rechis will get hers, but if MC keeps her to average, MC wins. 68-58 i agree this could be a really entertainig game if the refs let it happen.

i was not overly impressed by mcminn today.. their pressure defense won the game for them along with greenville missing numerous layups and free throws. thats not going to happen against westview, they have face gc pressure many time so they are going to be ready for the pressure, and they will finish their shot better than greenville did. im going to say westview win with free throws at the end. westview by 7

1. i dont care who it is there is not a shooter in tennesse that will make rechis look dumb, you have obviously not saw her play. 2. they may be true but dont count out westviews shooters, they have a couple girls that can really get hot and light it up 3. im not so sure about the student sections either, gc and obion county are well known for having CRAZY student sections as well, you have to remember that westview was in the state semis last year so they are not going to be stunned by the atmosphere. 4. not sure what that is supposed to mean but im pretty sure you can go ask CPA what west tn ball was about and they'll help ya out.

i expect it to be a more competetive game than last year. but i would not count on butler not having any help. haynes is a pure shooter and if given that many good looks again i dint see her shooting that poorly. i think what bothered reedy and griffin was that CPA was that CPA had very good post players that were bigger than them are they are not at all used to that. If CPA had one more shooter they could really be dangerous. I only saw one post player for south greene that has the height that CPA had. I believe griffin and reedy will do much better in round two,

haha i understand what your saying on complaining and i am by no means saying the cpa player was intending to harm the pllayer, but from where i was setting it looked like she took a pretty good shot to the head. their was two players going full speed in this situation. i will just agree to disagree on this point, but the bigger picture is it was a GREAT ball game and you could definately tell both teams gave everything they had. i think they had to bring the towels out more in this game than the rest combined to wipe the floor off from players diving for the ball

from what i saw today i really dont think south greene has anyone that is going to be able to stop butler. if haynes can hit some shots like she has been up until today where she could not hit anything, reedy and griifin will get theirs and im not worried about that. south greene is very capable of beating gc as they looked to have a couple players that could really shoot it and the big girl down low. i just dont see gc shooting that bad two games in a row. gc by 15.

the refing was very different game to game. one game they would let them play and the next game they would be calling it tight. just comes with different refs. polk sure didnt seem like the slow it down team everybody made them out to be, they didnt have no problem getting out and running today, just didnt have enough to stick with south greene

first off, CPA should really be proud as they are a very good team and fought to the end today. heather butler is pretty amazing when she gets it rolling. on the flagrant foul... im pretty sure that was as flagrant as a foul can get, not saying the cpa player meant any harm but it was a clear shot to the head and completely unneccesary. cpa defense was some of the toughest we have seen all year and you can tell it by the shooting %. on the foul shots, alot of it had to do with the way butler was driving to the basket and cpa pretty much just shot jump shots and posted up, not much driving to the basket.. that said it really is hard to believe they were not fouled on a single shot. but in the end gc was the better team and this was a very good basketball game to watch.

i think they way gc ran through the postseason last year and seem to be doing it again this year everyone feels that they are the favorite in every game they play. its really hard to argue that but remember last year marshal county was in the same situation and everyone knws what happened to them

lewic county just better have somebody that is a defensive stopper because amber rechis has the ability to completely take over a game as she did against fairley in sub state and obion county in region semis. once she starts scoring its nearly impossible to knock her off her rythym.

i think what really seperates gc from other teams is the ability of three different players to take over a game. lately its been the heather butler show but if you remember last year at the state tourney it was heather GRIFFIN that recieved the mvp award. and reedy is about a guarentedd double double every night and some night will come out a drop 25 or so. the thing is, you cant just leave everyone else alone, just ask manasas what courtney haynes will do if you let her shoot. i believe she had 5 three in the first half the other night against them. but as i have said before, teams dont get this far because they are a scared and not any good, anybody that makes it this far has the ability to beat ANYONE.

Sorry. I guess you couldn't tell I had my tounge in my cheek! Gibson has a great team I am sure, but CPA will play hard. Of the four losses, two were to AAA teams. Quality wins include Ensworth (DII state champs) and FRA (DII runner up - small division), Forrest-twice (ranked #2 in A), Ezell-Harding (ranked #4 in DII), Macon County (ranked in top 5 AA most of the year). Two losses in the district which includes Libscomb, East Literature and Hume-Fogg. Generally considered well coached with strong programs. What I want to know is how Obion County beat Gibson County. If I remember correctly, it was double digits. Obion Central would probably be the second or third best team in this field....They were #1 for a week, got bumped by McMinn without losing a game and then stayed around the #2 ranking the rest of the season... To the person who said GC was 57-1 the last two years....Actually it is 67-1 and over the last three years they are 94-7 with three straight tournament appearances... sorry you are correct on that, i wasnt completely sure and was to lazy to look it up obion played an outstanding game and macy right could not miss a shot that night and gibson had a really off night. obion is a really good team and its sad that one of these three teams had to be eliminated so early. westview and gc just had the experience that i think made the difference. on to this game i think that gc will win but im nottreally sure about what kind of team cpa has. the way gc is playing right now i dont see anyone beating htem unless they help them out with mistakes. westview is very good team and much better than their record. they are playing their best ball of the season right now. gc is just a really tough matchup for the lady chargers. it is really hard to beat a very good team multiple times and i believe gc has beaten westview 8 consecutive times in the last two years. its crazy to think about but that just shows how good and consistent gc really is. gc played their worst game by far in the last two seasons when they got beat by obion county this year and still only were beat by 13 by a top 5 team in the state. this group of girls coming graduating from district 13aa is one of the best ever

We have a guard named Heather Butler, she likes to score. We have a guard name Courtney Haynes who likes to shoot 3's and doesn't like to miss too much. We have 2 post players name Aubrey Reedy and Heather Griffin that like to grab rebounds and score points in the post. We have another guard named Khadijah Alexander whose been stepping it up alot here lately. THERE ARE YOU HAPPY? It's common sense that every team up there is going to be good. We've been there before. I have not said one thing on here being cocky or arrogant. I know we can be beat as we have already this year. I just know very little about CPA except that they have some big post and some decent guards. LOL, come on gcpioneer, you know whjo i am very well. i am a big gc fan and have been to several games, i was refering to the poster saying he did not know what to say sibnce everybody has handed teh trophy to gc, i know you have said nothing about it as i have not seen any gc fans xsay anything, just other fans from other teams

so your not gonna say anything about your team because everybody thinks gc is the favorite to win. I mean they are something like 58-1 in the last 2 seasons and defending state champs so its not really going out on a limb saying they are the favorites. That being said, if a team makes it to the state tourneyt they are also a very good team and capable of beating anyone, gc is by no means unbeatable.

i would agree with the nuetral sight for the regional championship if it was not originally scheduled for your home court. But i feel the home court for substate is an advantage givin to you for winning your region and it should remain the way it is. that being said, lexington sure is a long way for westview and gc to travel to play against each other. lets hope they will make an even longer trip to play each other next week

it really is startin to look like gc is primed and ready for another tourney run, they are playin some of the best ball of the year. ready for westview/gc round 4. wonder if they will try the stall ball again on wednesday

gcpioneer i was refering to volfan saying that westview felt they had to play that way to have a chance. i just feel that a team with that amount of talent should feel they can beat anybody. your right about the seven or so victories in a row but when you have a scorer like rechis and you dont give her anymore opportunities than that i dont feel its your best chance to win

so you honestly think westview cant beat gc? they return the same team from the state semis last year, they have the talent and are capable of beating anyone on any night.

you're probably right but one can wish cant they, lol. anyway i agree that gc is the team to beat, but i dont know much about the other teams but from what i hear it is very possible that a few 14aa teams pull some upsets as well

it would be awesome to have the region at gc instead of lexington, i believe that it is a real possibility that 13aa comes away with a sweep. im looking for gc/westview round four. i believe obion blowing the game will turn into a really bad decision for them as it can really hurt the mentality of the team.
