  1. I'm with you BHS! My son has moved on to the next level but I still like to check in to see how things are going and used to enjoy some great game recaps by you and others. I see where the The Facts Only has shown Ravenwood is in the finals along with Brentwood, however, I haven't seen anything anywhere about how Brentwood was the runner-up and Ravenwood won their district? .....ah,the good ole days.
  2. The midfielder Ravenwood lost is Brandon Saunders....playing D1 at St Marys now. Agree a big loss but Linder and Mason will be strong.
  3. sounds like a ryan fan in denial. ravenwood had the better of play the entire match and missed several opportunties of their own. ryan's physical play was matched by ravenwood whose backs had an excellent game.
  4. agree ravenwood probably was overlooked but they have their work cut out this weekend in hendersonville where they play father ryan, knox west, and mcminn. they have injuries and will be without key players especially saunders. will be interesting to see how they do
  5. At Franklin tomorrow night at 7pm. Twelve wins and no losses between the two teams (Ravenwood 6-0, Franklin 6-0-1) Predictions?? Should be a great game and a great crowd at Franklin as no school on Good Friday.....
  6. looking like ravenwood's center mid tandem is off to a good start. will be interesting to see how they do when the competition ramps up. they will be at the hendersonville classic where i believe they play knox catholic and father ryan. will also be in cleveland end of march against alcoa, cleveland, and others. i think ravenwood led by saunders, linder, and a host of other returning players may be a pretty good side to watch this year. maybe a state tournament attendee?
  7. Saw Ravenwood play Oakland the other night and saw some pretty good early chemistry on Ravenwoods part. Besides Brandon and Will they do have some other solid talent like Ben Semmeraro, Marshall Holt, Gabe Lawerence, and some others. Brandon and Will made things difficult in the middle as usual and think Will had a couple goals and Brandon had at least two maybe three assists in a 4 to 1 match. Think they'll be tough again this year.
  8. Agree. Would add the best coaches see the bigger picture and aggressively use scrimmages as a chance to answer the questions they have about individual players in different roles and positions.
  9. A coupla nights ago Ravenwood 4-1 over Oakland on a sloppy field
  10. Brentwood will be strong again with much of their offense coming back especially up top. They lost most of their starting defenders but expect they'll reload. Ravenwood has a young team with many returning underclassman that contributed last year. They'll be very strong in the middle as both Saunders and Linder will be back.
  11. think ravenwood has some players that need to be in this. while they got beat 1-0 in substate to hendersonville they had a very good year and if 2 of there key starters hadn't picked up concussions (hospitalized) a week before playoffs things may have been different. mcguinness and saunders weren't the same afterwards but were definite standouts before it happened. will linder, center mid brandon saunders, center mid andrew mcguinness, forward
  12. Region 11 AAA semi-final Ravenwood 3 McGavock 0
  13. haven't seen riverdale play but know they have some good players like compton. have seen franklin play though and they are a good team. will be interesting. where is the game being played and when?

    11 AAA?

agree sokker they made it happen when they needed to. my bet is they'll be playing again next thursday. will be very interesting if it happens as they've each won one against each other. believe ravenwood will have an edge of they are healthy by then. two of their key players have had concussions within the last two weeks. ive seen them play several times this year and they didn't look to be on there game last night.
  15. how are the players decided? by the coaches?
  16. the team has already been named under a thread called all district teams

    11 AAA?

ravenwood gave up early goal on mistake by the goalie who had hands on the ball but didn't lock it up. brentwoods desalvatore knocked it out of his hand with his hip as he ran by and it rolled in. majority of play was on brentwoods defensive side but ravenwood didn't finish on several chances hitting posts on a few shots and other solid chances. brentwood scored very late on a nice cross for tap in by desalvatore. flow of play seemed to favor ravenwood but brentwood finished on the chances they had where ravenwood didnt. these two teams could meet again next week if they both win their regional games. congrats to brentwood on another district title.

    11 AAA?

pulling for both underdogs i see....chs and indy. interesting. think you might get one right at most.
  19. how about father ryan losing to bga. think that ended there season didnt it and they were the number 1 ranked team in d2 i thought
  20. better position to be nationally ranked than to be one of the teams playing them. theyre nationally ranked because theyre good teams. didnt seem to bother brentwood much last year

    11 AAA?

ive seen both teams play and watched them play each other a couple weeks ago. too much ravenwood in the middle for indy to handle. ravenwood 3 Indy 1

    11 AAA?

    Ravenwood 9 Hillsboro 0

    11 AAA?

the great escape, houdini, etc, etc., .....ravenwood controlled play at all times but didn't finish amd had many chances. very good game by indys keeper who had many, many opportunites to gain experience. Indy never threatened, possession was probably 75% ravenwood and they had the ball on indys side most of the game. indy had to have felt relieved to walk away with a draw.
