JCM and Haywood (Wilbert Jones)among other were top of the class along with Covington in the late 70's. Lost track of them after that. And I agree with Chargerfan...Dyersburg ugh..

Covington was dominated like I haven't seen in a while. Game doesn't hurt them in district but it had to put a question mark in their mind as to how good they may be. Haywood is up next for district action hope Covington can pick up the pieces and continue their winning ways next week. Go Chargers!

Just looking at the scores of the teams North Side has played it appears Covington shouldn't have much trouble barring injuries or unexpected issues with players.Glad that Foster decided to rejoin Covington as he has been a huge plus. Hines is starting to find his way also so add Norfork that is three running backs Covington can rely on. Just think five years ago we were pursuing a .500 season and now we expect to win every game. Off topic: Covington freshman and the middle school are also coming along nicely. If we can just keep our coaching staff intact Covington should be competitive the next few years. Go Chargers!

Lol @chargerfan... I'd settle for Brett Favre tossing around the ball in his backyard with his kids. I know Watson can throw the ball and Russell and a few others can catch the ball. Anything just to loosen the "D" up for the running game. Doesn't have to be 40 or 50 yarders just some play action or something where we are not so predictable would help.

If we are comparing them to last yrs team....we aren't clicking on as many cylinders as last yr..If we are comparing them to Munford no comparison. If Covington wants to compete with the big boys they better find a passing game...but what's new about that with Covington. Covington will be competitive again this year with a good defense and and ball control offense. Sounds familiar doesn't it. Good game Chargers despite sorry officiating in first half.

So far,exception Milan and Dyersburg, Covington has developed good leads in the first half and forced teams to change their regular offense up in order to play catchup. Not to say Covington doesn't play well in the 2nd half (Dyersburg, Milan) but I think that jumping on Fulton early will be a huge key for Covington. Not sure Covington will change their offense up much if they get behind because they can strike so quickly on offense running or passing. Looking forward to a great game!!! Well the whole town of Covington is excited about this game. Playoffs appear to be common place for you guys but we hoping that this is just the beginning for Covington. And I do appreciate your civility on this thread. Lately we have had some doozies on here and it's good to just have a regular conversation for a change instead of having to defend our right to be here with the big boys.

From what I've read and seen fultons left side of offensive is huge but both players stood straight up when blocking. We both have fast players.. So far I haven't seen anyone that could out run our secondary. If your back can.. Provided he can break the line of scrimmage it will be a first for covington. Whether or not covington has the fastest team I can't say but I promise you they will be the fastest Fulton has seen. Good luck to both teams!
