  1. Multiple posts from multiple posters complaining about fans.No ,not the BAND and RIOT as they are GREAT!!It'sfamilies of current or former players .No folks its not 1986 ,Todd and the boys arnt about to repeat history,as great as that might be--its just not going to happen. Your kid is not a D1 prospect. I'm sorry. If they were the whole state would know it. Afterall who at their position is the prototypical college player? who has the speed stength height / weight / power/skills and stats 4 a D1school?few are close but none that haveit all and can back it up. We are a young team with few starting Seniors. Oh parents I got one question . who among you can attest to a dedicated workout that there kid did in the offseason? I know a few can but I say most cannot. I say LETS all get over ourselves and get behind the TEAM ! Please! Pretty Please ! GO PATRIOTS !!! dvp4life !!!!!! PS.... The morning after a brutal loss I brought my son breakfast in bed.....He said " You didn't have to do that." I said "would you rather I help you with your plays ? " we laughed and he ate . PSS.... I saw a 6foot 4inch 225 pound player he benches 315 and runs a 4.40 40 yard dash ! but he plays for another school.......sorry " I need more cowbell" SNL LOL
  2. Barb,Ican assure the no whining was intended,I was mostly commenting on the oversight(or lack thereof) of the officials under the TSSAA. In no way am I implying that a missed/mistaken call led to the downfall of tha Pats last fri. However I respectfully request that you review the tape from the game and you will see the the (JC) qb threw the ball from behind the line .Again ,this is in no way meant to take anything away from the Greeneville team .Further my comments about the weight room were meant to encourage and motivate. Its my hope that we keep a positive attitude about the team.I can tell you that the players and coaches feel bad enough about the loss.In fact.I saw a player the next day who had a less than stellar performance during the game ,he was clearly "beat down"and depressed. In fact felt the need to apologize to Me! I just told him nobody was perfect in any game and that he was still a loved and respected person and player and that afterall I was a PATRIOT and not a .... (hate)triot . GO PATRIOTS !!! dvp4life
  3. Greeneville won ,no question who the better team was that night. As a Patriot fan I salute the Greendevils for a honorably fought game.I must also fight the urge to strangle the side judge for calling back that 65 yard TD that (JC)Bo caught...he waited till the Patriots were celebrating in the endzone before becoming confused as to where the line of scrimmage was. Although Im just kidding about the "strangling" part,It is a shame that there is not more oversight on the refs---no complaints are heard.....no opportunity to review and learn from mistakes ...... No real oversight or concern from TSSAA on these matters .Until refs/judges are held to a higher standard we will continue to see(on occaision anyway) these sorts of issues arise . On to the Patriots many great things were seen! Bo,Brad,Trevor,Thomas,Anthony,Travis had good games,Im sure there were more but I dont have a film to review. Of course after a big loss my first initial response(at least privately)is too demand/suggest a bunch of wholesale changes. For example move this guy here or there or run different plays or schemes. On further consideration Im glad I kept my mouth shut.Afterall I'm not at practice everyday and I really dont know who can do what.I do,however, believe and almost said to the coaches that the team should be in the weight room and be serious while in there, But again I would have been out of line because they had already thought of that and had them in there HITTING the weights this past Sunday! This strong committment to the weight room is whats going to take us were we want to go!!!!....I implore all serious Patriot Football players to get in the weight room 3 to 4 times a week/work hard while in there/and watch their nutrition/HIGH PROTEIN every 3-4 hours !!!! Parents and families and supporters lets get on board here and help and encourage these FINE MEN ! GO PATRIOTS !!! dvp4life
  4. Thoughts and prayers from Jefferson County Patriot family.
  5. Come on BIG BLUE ! Lets here a few positives on the Jamboree and maybe a couple of good natured remarks about the season opener against GREENVILLE ! ! AUGUST 21st starts the season (away again ? ) Go PATRIOTS ! ! dvp4life
  6. Good luck this year HERITAGE. It was a honor to scrimmage you guys this year.Your team has alot of class! Thanks for having us over twice this summer(7 on 7) and the scrimmage. JCHS Go PATRIOTS ! dvp4life
  7. Farragut at JCHS ! whoa ! Ive heard it said that sometimes it pays to play a better team and man thats what we did thurs night...I make no excuses for the Patriots,They just outperformed us. Again it should be said that the Farragut team played the scrimmage with alot of class and fire. They clearly have a few D1 players on their team and thankfully all of their top talent wasnt on the field. But you gotta give it up to the Patriots for their NO quit attitude/Heart/and Toughness .The men gave it all they had and can feel good about the effort.(Ive seen the bruises !).I did see MANY BRIGHT SPOTS for us on the field. and with continued hard work on everyones part I believe ,as do most of us, that we can make an improvement from last years record. I challenge everyone to make EVERY effort to help this team make it to the next level.Players: are your grades good?/staying out of trouble?/encouraging each other?/extra workouts on your own time?/diet? Coaches: Positve attitudes?/thinking outside the box?/teamwork? ... Parents: are we supportive of the players/coaches and each other? Dont get me wrong I want to WIN but I also want to feel like Im part of a Team, a School and a Community !!!!!!! GO PATRIOTS ! dvp4life
  8. From the Jefferson County family to yours, our deepest condolences .
  9. I gotta humbly say the Jeff Co men looked pretty good last night. 3 to 1 is how I saw it.Great effort guys !The Heritage program overall played with alot of class. There were no cheap or late shots or taunting that I saw.All players were quick to take a knee when any player was hurt. As far as the Qb situation last year #1Christian only played in three games, its not easy to evaluate a player with so few games at that position.I will say that without a doubt Christian gave his heart and soul to the Patriots for 4 years! That being said the team needs to consider who has the needed skills to play that position. We are running the Veer afterall. The "read"/speed/quickness/strength/leadership/ability to make things happen on the fly/and a" can do"positive"fight to the very end" attitude are just some of the things needed.simply put you must start with a tough runningback type player.IMO Christian was THE best choice to start last year. But again you have to look to the coaches to have the best player choices in the pipeline and have them prepared to take over for that position in the event of injury and graduation .In all fairness ,Christian saw no snaps as a freshman/sophmore or junoir- yet we all knew that Zach Long was going to graduate 2 years ago.Sadly, too often coaches have bent and some believe continue to be pressured from outside sources to play or practice players at positions that are not right for them.Im sure Coach Anderson,as he continues to gain experience at the Head Coach position, will consider these points and do what is right for the team.Go Patriots ! dvp4life
  10. Also Vick Gilbert [upcoming soph][football/basketball] [ probably /maybe a starter on football]transferred/moved to Mo West. He is a great kid but, I say if the dont want to be a PATRIOT then be gone. GO PATRIOTS ! dvp4life
  11. Great scrimmage,"DK" Wright was all over the field! Hey lets hope the intensity continues all thru the summer. GO PATRIOTS ! dvp4life
  12. Im right with you on this one Jbpatfan. Ask ourselves this one.If this happens in a big game will the resulting penalty have a negative outcome on the game?would it be a out of conference game or maybe a playoff game that sends us home for the year? Seriously this fighting has got to stop.It wasnt cool last year on JV and its not cool this year being pulled outa of a game at Science Hill!
  13. Alot of swarming to the ball ,gang tackles on defense.Players excited...high fiving ...hooting....hollering ! 1 of JC kids ejected for fighting wasnt a good thing . Sure hope this type of thing doesnt continue . But all and all this was a good showing for both teams. The edge would hafta go to the Patriots . The score was 3 to 1 [i think] , With JC not playing anyone both ways. Next up the Blue and White game on Tues May 12[5 pm ?] after school at home, expect to see players to play who didnt see much playing time against Science Hill. GO PATRIOTS ! dvp4life
  14. Word is Big blue travels to Science Hill on friday May 8 th for a scrimmage after school. The following tuesday There having the Blue and White Game at home ,of course. No confirmation On Sullivan South. Sure glad to here about alot of preseason excitement !!! Any word on who is looking good at their position? I know there are still a few players still on the baseball and track teams .
  15. Science Hill for the scrimmage, then a" Blue and White " game the second week.I dont know times/dates .
  16. R McCash [DC} is at mo west, JB Brimer Is off the staff, New hire at [DC] is Parker Dykes or PD to his friends,he was a coach recently at Carson Newmon and multiple other schools. A quick google on this guy is pretty impressive ! Ive heard that coach Wood is coming back to assist with the qb/offense . For those that dont remember he was the [hc] of the freshman squad 2 years ago.
