  1. I think the Canes will go all the way this year, they only lost 3 seniors that played last year. With a strong offense, including a talented QB in Moore and the RB Jackson who ran for more than 1200 ids last year and the defensive unit with Rodriquez, Warren and Gatewood returning, they will take their region and go deep into the playoffs this year.
  2. East Hamilton • Biggest change: With nine starters back on both sides of the ball, the Hurricanes no longer can sneak up on anybody. • Spring outlook: While several Hamilton County teams are struggling with low numbers because of players involved in other spring sports, the Hurricanes have 70 from the sophomore class through the senior class. With starters such as running back Logan Jackson (6-0, 195), who ran for 1,200-plus yards, quarterback Hunter Moore (6-0, 200) and offensive tackle Fielder Dennis (6-3, 260) returning, expectations are soaring. Defensively, end Francisco Rodriguez (6-1, 240), linebacker Austin Gatewood (6-1, 210) and cornerback Cody Knox (5-11, 180) lead another experienced group. “We’ll use the spring to figure out who can give us depth,†coach Ted Gatewood said. “The kids know they will have to be ready every Friday night, because every team we play will be coming after us after we had a pretty good season last year. We have to learn to finish better than we did several games last year. That’s our next step.â€
  3. FowlBall.....you guys @ Hooterville are still jealous that you lost all the talent to the new school. If you remember prior posts, I have bee telling you guys since 2009 that the Canes were going to be awesome in a couple of years.....well now with only 3 seniors starting, you are beginning to see it happen. Next year will be better than this one and when the Owls come to Hurricane Hill they will go home without their tail feathers and a loss to an team they constantly call no good. It takes time to build a program and these young guys have done a great job to get to the playoffs in just 3 years. I expect them to Go a lot farther in the playoffs than your HooterBirds. GO CANES.
  4. Canes will take it one game at a time. We plan to get all the use we can out of the new stadium we have by hosting the games each week. That's what you get to do when you take 1st place in your District. We can play @ home till the big game. GO CANES
  5. . East Hamilton Hurricanes Defensive End, Junior,Francisco Rodriquez........an ANIMAL
  6. East Hamilton Hurricanes take on Brainerd @ Hurricane Hill. Canes won the last meet 22-13. This should be a good game, but I think Canes can outplay and outlast the Panthers. EH has gotten better with each game and are pumped to go as deep as they can into the playoffs. Awsome Offense and Dominating Defense will take the Canes on a wild ride to State Title on Decemcer 3rd. GO CANES.......
  7. Canes have had a really good season, now in 1st place in the district and headed into the playoffs, most likely as a #1 seed. I have been telling folks for the past 3years that this would be the year that everybody sees them move to the top. They have worked hard to develop a # 1 program. This years juniors and sophomores are an example of what is to come, next year it even gets better. And with a two platoon system, nobody plays on both sides of the ball. You will see them go deep in the playoffs. Go Canes, we are proud of you all.
  8. Junior, Logan Jackson, East Hamilton High School, Ooltewah, TN., after 7 games....122 carries for 918 yds.......... See ehhsfootball.com
  9. Rams will have a tough time against moving the ball against EH defense. Eh has consistently gotten better as season moves along. Good play calling and multi threat offense will win this one for the Canes....
  10. Canes and Rams meet up to fight for district win. Ought to be a good game.....I think Canes will take the Win this time.
  11. But at least Signal Mtn can come back next year claiming to be "Defending State Chumps".
  12. if Signal hasn't done something wrong, and they honestly believe that.....WHY would they change anything and make the kid sit out ?......Maybe it's because they know they are wrong and don't want to forfeit the rest of their season. I wouldn't be surprised if a Signal parent didn't 'drop the dime' ...they gotta be tired of importing ballplayers. Nothing surprises me anymore ....... What folks will do to win..... AND Signal has good athletes without busing.
  13. Canes are done with play against out of class opponents, only district play left. Some tough play, but it makes us better. We should win all the rest and cruise into the playoffs. Brainerd this Friday nite @ E H......come watch a good win for Canes.
  14. Junior tailback Logan Jackson #18 East Hamilton HS.....Hard hitting, hard running, Fast.
  15. Canes rebounding off loss last week, they meet Owls this week. This will be a big game, sellout crowd. Canes are ready for this one, it will be a good game, great effort from both teams. But.....Canes are the better team and will put a whooping on Ooltewah.
  16. Canes will run the ball up the middle and around the corners with ease. They will mix it up with passes for short gains and long yardage. Owls can't run up the middle and will be caught around the corners. Owls receivers will be challenged by Cane corners and defensive backfield. It will be a good game but score will be one-sided for Canes. Owls haven't practiced serious for Canes and will be surprised. Canes are in better shape and more physical and better coached. Canes know they have to win this one so they will be ready....
  17. This will be a good ballgame, kids have been waiting on it for 2 years. The Canes are still young, only 3 seniors starting, mostly jr's and sophomores. But....they have all the tools they need to put up a WIN this week against Owls. With the new QB comes a dual threat, passing to very good receivers and a running game that will challenge Owls. Both teams will have to have their line step up because that is where it will make a difference. Hope there is some good press this week to help motivate the teams. Canes win this one....
  18. I saw both teams play, Friday night will be a good game. I think Signal will see a different team than they saw the past 2 years. It will be a close game, and I think defense will be big part. Canes also beat Heritage in a full game scrimmage on Friday nite. We got to see a lot of depth playing. Canes can throw and run the ball, speed and size this year on both sides of the ball. We will see ......it oughta be fun!!!
  19. I agree, after watching EH this week in scrimmages with Polk and Heritage.....Canes sure look good, if the right QB is in the game, dual threat,in the air and on the ground. I have a lot of respect for Owls, many years supporting them, but I believe this years Canes will leave the posters on this blog with a mouth full of feathers.......OWLCH..
  20. Eh looked really good at the Polk scrimmage, moved the ball well on the ground and in the air. Defense looked especially good........ Friday nite a full game scrimmage with heritage, Canes came out ahead 21-13' went way in depth chart, to give lots of kids playing time. It's gonna be a great season..
  21. You must have already heard about the kicker/punter (see below from MurphyFair website). We graduated a good punter/ kicker, he got a scholarship to play college ball. This years boot has really improved, but so has all the team. I hope Owls have a good season, but don't discount East Hamilton! Murphy's Exclusive 2011 Top Prospects Click the column name to sort. 22. Canes have definitely paid the price for being young, but this year you are going to see a team loaded with experience. A big line, QB,s thAt can throw, size and speed in the backfield, a good defense, and a mean bunch of linebackers. There are going to be some folks surprised. They looked really good in the scrimmage against Polk tonite. Maybe after y'all see them at Heritage and Finley this week you will believe too.
  23. Been telling you guys for past 2 years you were gonna miss the talent taken away by the new school. As much as East Hamilton has struggled having a young team, Owls are finally feeling the pinch. Like Phish says, maybe in a year or so, it will level out. However, after the Canes have put freshman and sophomores on the field the past 2 years and struggled, you are gonna see a team with a lot of experience this year, a team that will challenge the Owls. A big line, a QB that can throw, receivers that can catch (ask Soddy) a tailback that ran for over 1000 yds as a sophomore, a mean bunch of linebackers, and a defense like u have never seen before. The best part of 8/26 for the Owls will be the $$$ they make on the gate.
  24. Warren and Rudwall are the 'real deal'. Both will play somewhere on Saturdays at a D-1 school. I have watched them play since they were little, they both have 'heart' for the game. I think it will be interesting when Owls play Canes and the Warren brothers are on opposing teams.....should make for good talk at the Warren dinner table.
