  1. It was a good crowd but by no means packed. I didn't see or hear anything rude in my section from anyone. Also Comp, St. Clair threw a beautiful pass to to #1 towards the front corner of the endzone, can't remember where LOS was!! When he first threw it I thought it was going out of bounds but #1 turned on the jets and ran under it. Very nice. You would have been proud. Defense looked good but they weren't running after Shephard. #23 ran some good routes as well. That was a very nice throw and catch!!!
  2. whats your out look and who do think will be stepping up?
  3. Easy now...........don't want to start sounding like a South fan. Sorry Waco, as bad as it may sound it's a fact. I wish you could have been there!!! We did good but the turnovers killed us .
  4. I don't think 3 interceptions and 2 fumbles in let say 45 minutes is jumping ship!!! Seabolt can complete a 20-30 yard pass fine and I would take that all day long plus he has other great assets at qb. I'm not picking at Roop he's a great kid and he has a good arm but right now he is not getting it done. I know it's only a scrimmages but it's prep time. I'm sure Roop will remain starting qb and get it together but I'm also sure he knows he's gonna have to earn his keep now. He did not have a concussion from what his parents said it was more a precautionary thing, so no excuse for so many turnovers except maybe he's a little gun shy.
  5. Maryville and Roop did start at QB. He made several mistakes and for some reason was not running some of the plays the coach was calling. We know this because GC hit the field in a tantram. Seabolt came in and did a seamless job as he did last week. His arm is not real strong. He threw a 40-45 yard pass down field and it looked like it was in slow motion. He needs to throw distance all week and work on that!!!! He is a great scrambler and thinker. He has a great view of the field and will not sit in that pocket. He will unload or get 5-10 yards just about everytime. I think it will benefit the team and we will get more out of seabolt at QB. Chris ran the ball great and had several nice holes compliments of the O-line. Noticed Corey Hall was playing alot more defense than normal and did a great job. Jason Michaels is looking really good this year, making some big plays. The scrimmage seemed short to me but over all it was a good practice for them. I think the score was 14-7 in favor of Maryville (might not be correct), but honestly it should have been more like 28-14 in favor of the Indians. We really did good we've gotta stop the turnovers!!!!!!!
  6. Well folks, today was the end of the scrimmages. Now it's time for the real fun to begin!!!! I will go ahead and give my opinion on todays scrimmage. I felt the defense did a whole lot better. They penatrated the line and got several sacks!!!! They just need to work on stopping the running game. To many passes being completed. O-line did good as well saw a few blocks missed but this will happen. They will be just fine. Our biggest problem I see is the qb position. I will state my opinion. Seabolt needs to stay at QB. He is much more consistant and a very quick thinker. His style is very close to Jamie Crawfords. The players seem to follow his pattern real well. I think Roop has a stronger arm but when weighing out what the team needs, Seabolt will benefit us more at QB than playing on the out. I know not all will agree but this is just my opinion and not meant to offend others.......ROLL TRIBE
  7. No, it's at Carson Newman against Maryville. Start time is 5. GO TRIBE!!!!!!
  8. Heard the other day that Devon Sylvester will be out his whole Senior year due to a torn ACL. I hated to hear that for this young man and the team.
  9. If Clark retires it won't be because of the new Principal. He has been a great coach but has lost his way. He still has it I believe, and is excellent in every catagory except his play calling as of late. His play calling used to be his strongest point. I can't put my finger on what it is and why he's calling plays the way he has been. It's almost like he doesn't won't to offend the opposing team. Everybody else is going for blood and I guarantee if anybody gets the chance they'll hang as many points on him as they can. And I mean anybody. Well said Waco, I think he still has it as well .Maybe with the ajustments he's having to make this year, It will revive him along with the team! I'm just speaking in my opinion and no disrespect to the new Principal but I would say GC has more pull in the system than she does so I doubt much of a problem there!!!!
  10. Good luck to you as well. I don't read too much into the scrimmage. I was glad to see Halls not back down and I liked how they played hard. I am sure the early injury to your QB made an impact. It may have even made the coaches hesitant about running your best RB too much. I have a feeling DB will be as strong as always come regular season. I hope the Halls boys gained some confidence from the scrimmage but maiintain a good working attitude instead of becoming cocky. Your boys did a good job and I'm sure it will light the fuse! Good luck and Hope they stay healthy I'm gonna let this thread die out and on to the next!!!!!! Good luck with your season.
  11. Thats crazy, their was plenty times he could of rested some of the first string player!
  12. Your 100 % correct Waco!! We have the talent for sure they just have to utilize it.
  13. I agree they did look slow and week but thay are not. Corey Hall runs a 4.8 40 and Patrick Hansen is slower but packs a mean punch. I agree with your opinion of the scrimmage but I also know some of the underlinning fact. They just did not perform and neither did the defense!!! Patrick is just on the field, and that along with his work effort makes him a great lineman.Corey has got gifted speed for a young man his size.Cody is a hard worker and I know he has strenth.Hayworth is huge and strong and only in the 10th grade.I don't know much about the left tackle,so I'll just say the coaches must feel he is the best we have for that spot.We need work all over the place, and I know the coaches are ready to get back to work. Yeah your exactly right. We have talent all over the field. We just looked lost the other night. I guess thats why we scrimmage!!! The coaches will iron things out.
  14. We have a lot of guys getting their first real playing time as well.I hope as the year goes by that with every week, our team will mature and grow stronger together. Those players we have that were on the field last year have to be leaders and not walk around on the practice field, as I did see one or two doing last week.I don't hear much of what our coaches say during practice, but that and talking back are two things I know a coach can't stand. For a young man to get on the field for Dobyns Bennett is a gift and I don't care what the outlook is.I hope the fire Patrick brings on our offensive line can spread throughout the team.I look forward to seeing the scrimmage and you guys have a safe trip up here. We just fell apart last weeK so I hope we will be able to get it together some this scrimmage!! Looking forward to it!
  15. I agree they did look slow and week but thay are not. Corey Hall runs a 4.8 40 and Patrick Hansen is slower but packs a mean punch. I agree with your opinion of the scrimmage but I also know some of the underlinning fact. They just did not perform and neither did the defense!!!
  16. You guys did a good job but I will have to say this. We looked nothing like what we do in practice. The qb did get hurt and our RB did not run the ball much, which we did not figure he would. We were so out of sink every where on the field!!! We showed our in-experience, thats for sure. 95 percent of these guys have never played a varsity game That's why Clark should have went deeper in his bench last year. We have our work cut out this year for sure. It's not a lack of talent it's just NO experience!!!!! Good Luck Guys in your season!!!!!
  17. I think your 100% correct about the offensive line. They have to be explosive off that line and they were not tonight. I Think They have the size and the talent they just need to learn to get the jump. Defense is gonna have to penetrate the line and quit leaving the qb in the pocket so long! I am worried about the defense. We make some good tackles but by the time we get to them they have already gaines 10-15. We can not allow them to move the chain like this. I will have to say this, Rusty Clark had some good tackles tonite. Another Issue, with this young bunch all they are use to at this point is playing each other. They know were they are going and what they are doing so they look really good in practice. Tonight they had no idea . They had to defend/protect the unknown. Like I said before, only a hand full have any varsity experience at all. This scrimmage will help them and they need several more before week 0.
  18. Yeah this is very true can not tell much in a scrimmage but it you can get a look. I think your dead on about the schedule expecially week 0, 1st game playing Farragut!!
  19. Heard the D-B squad scrimmaged one another today and heard it went real good. Who was there and who was shinning on offense and defense. Of course I know 1st team deffense had a few players off because they were on 1st offense? I want the details!!!!!!
  20. Wow , you will not get these memories back and you won't be able to re-do so you better think about your actions because even though you may think that she's" the one", it probably gonna be more like she won't be the last one! Don't srew your self!!!!!!! I know it's not what you want to hear but take a long hard look at the stastics my friend!!!!
  21. I totally agree but if you look at my post i'm saying the same thing on there! Joking around is ok but most of the time people go on and on.
  22. I'm Just an old fan of "if it's not broke, don't try and fix it". It will be ok when we all get use to it!!!
  23. Please Do!!!! I thought I was gonna see some hardcore football talk from 2 Iron Horses but, I'll have to revisit at a later time!!!!
