Well congrats to the Owls for the W last night over DeKalb. It was ugly but you guys got the job done. With 400+ rushing yards I would say the O-line has improved again this week. Next week the focus may shift back to the defense after seeing the game last night. As always all the right adjustments were made at the half for SC to come out and get the W. Good luck to the Tigers from here on out.

I know next to nothing about 1A football other than SP is a year in and year out powerhouse. The other thing in 1A I do have quite a bit of knowledge on is Gordonsville. This years team is the real deal especially when the QB and his favorite WR are clicking. G-ville could very well be making a trip to Cookeville come the 1st week of December if they keep their heads on straight and stay healthy.

I am not downing this kid at all. He looks to have a very bright future, but some of the competition in that highlight video looks extremely sub-par and most of the "big" plays were because of poor tackling that was not because he was putting moves on kids. With that being said good luck to the kid.

I am not sure in the reasoning behind it but I would not have kicked the ball either. This doesn't mean I don't have faith in the kicker, just how I would have done it.

I was not at the SC game in week 0 but from what I have heard and been told the same Owls team did not show up to play tonight.

My hat goes off to the entire G-ville staff and team. You guys played an excellent ball game tonight and should have won no doubt. #53 was in our backfield all night long and prevented our run game from getting going. SC came out flat and unprepared(similar to '09). The O-line needs to pick it up if SC wants to continue to win. With that being said congrats to the Owls on pulling through and winning a nail biter, I hope that was the only one of those this year because I can't handle another. The one difference in this game from previous times these teams have met jr. high, jr. pro, etc etc is Jimmy Maynard. That's what will bring home the W for the Owls.

Well the word on the street is that he has been "injured". I believe it is a publicity stunt and another way for him to draw attention upon himself. If I am wrong I apologize but this is just my beliefs at this point and time.

Croz, If you remember correctly in 09 SC still came away with the W in the end so if this year is similar to that year and SC still walks away with the WIN then I will be perfectly happy(may need my heart checked after but will be happy). Well congrats to the Owls of Smith Co and the Tigers of DeKalb Co. Great year of baseball from both teams. District 8-AA was well represented in the state this year putting 2 teams in the top 4 in the state. Also I would like to meet the idiot who put Smith as last in the district.

Nice call. Lexington was 2 through and barbecue and so was Jackson Southseems west tn baseball isnt all it is made out to be. And my prediction of Smith Co makin a little bit of noise was correct. Congrats Owls you made history. Great season!
