  1. 26-7 Webb at start on 4th quarter. USJ needed to play perfect game. 3 turnovers and multiple penalties have been the story of the game.
  2. ECS up 10-0 with 5:30 left in the 1st quarter.
  3. Halftime Webb up 13-7. Webb scored on first two possessions. USJ was driving and had turnover around 30 yard line before scoring at the end of the half. USJ gets ball to start 2nd half - not a blowout but Webb is good.
  4. Friday night has the possibility of being a really great game when USJ comes to town. I do not think you will see a 35-0 whupping like in State Championship game last year. Bottom line is Webb are still champions until someone beats them.
  5. Man, you are hating on the wrong person. Going to come to Trojan Fan's defense. Go in and read his posts - nothing but fair and intelligent. And 90% of the information from Division II comes from him. Although SBEC is technically in MS, it is still a part of our Division II in TSSAA(and a darned good representative). And as far as Webb's enrollment, they are playing within the TSSAA guidelines - if you move them up, who's next - anyone that beats you? There HAS to be a stopping point somewhere and as long as they are playing in the rules, then it is fair (and yes, they kicked my teams butt last year). One of the many things that I have enjoyed about my team moving to Division II is the civil conversations that are had. I do agree what you said about any given night - it just happened to be JCS night Friday and as I posted above - they have some atheletes.
  6. I think Jackson Christian is just highly under rated. They have some great athletes but just have not put it all together until the last two games. They could be the dark horse of this tournament.
  7. The top half may be tough, but the bottom half of this bracket is BRUTAL. If it plays out USJ/Webb winner would have to play ECS just to get to championship game (of course there can be upsets along the way). Tell me again how weak Div IIA is ?????
  8. I agree with other poster that the polls do not mean anything, but try just lumping 1A/2A, 3A/4A, 5A/6A together and see what kind of uproar you would get. It makes no sense to me to try to rank teams that are not in the same division. BUT, where it really hurts I think is that when All State teams are named, DI will have teams in all 6 divisions and DII will be lumped together. Either lump them ALL together or separate ALL of them. There are some kids that deserve recognition in DI single A that do not get it when it is combined with AA.
  9. sure about that? - Do not know Robertson City personally but would just bet over the looooooong period of time there have been many prayers uttered by Mommas and Daddies for their sons and teammates. Prayers may be banned over the loudspeaker, but they will NEVER ban prayer. Thankfully my school still has pre-game prayers, but I always pray for every player on both teams and for their safety before every game - let them try to take that away.
  10. If brackets hold true, it looks like the bottom half of the playoffs will be a killer: Knox Webb, ECS, USJ all on bottom half with St. George's and Davidson in top half. I would say St. George's has a good shot at finals from top half - can USJ or ECS play with Webb?
  11. There is more than likely another option that you did not list - Personally, I laughed my tail off at this post.
  12. "Whupping" would be an overstatement "Damp" would be an understatement Guess they even out.
  13. The benefits are you get to play schools that are like you - enrollment and otherwise. The benefits are that you do not get multiplied and have to play schools that are sometimes twice as big as you are (or in one case that I know at the end of the last 4 year classification - 3.2 times the size). The benefits are that everytime you win a game - no one starts hurling the recruiting word and posting on here that you do not belong with them.
  14. So, purple - how's them words tasting today??
  15. You obviously have not seen the rest of the team play. You better be marinating these words between now and Friday night cause you are probably going to be eating them.
  16. Dude, how many times a day do you get beat up?
  17. Really wet, sloppy fields when it has not rained in a week.
  18. and we all know that it seems to rain there "all" the time
  19. Ladies and Gentlemen, you have now entered the twilight zone.
  20. Until I am proved differently, if ECS is anywhere near as big as they were last year, I would say they are the favorites, followed by USJ, and then JCS/St. George. Looks like St. George proved differently tonight. Scoreboard shows they beat ECS by 1 point tonight. Sets up a big one next week. Last I heard JCS was beating a good Trinity team tonight so they may be someone to deal with before the year is over.
  21. Mine completely burned out during summer camp in June. They had been playing since practice started in November with a couple week break after season, played spring ball, and then practice started as soon as school out for summer. I told her it was ok to quit and it was almost like she saw that I was not forcing her to play, so she was ok (or maybe it was that I told her that she would be able to get a summer job since she would not be playing that made the difference )
  22. I am not crying, whining, making excuses, nor am I undereducated. I understand that this is completely legal by TSSAA rules. BUT, if a private school in the area was pulling that many kids from other schools, it would be a blood bath on here. THEN, it would definitely be recruiting, unethical, unfair, be multiplied, and accused of having an unfair advantage. I am all for a kid going where they have an advantage, but I miss the days when we had community schools and you worked your tail off to make your community school better, not only in sports, but every aspect. That day is gone. Sorry, did not mean to hijack thread. It was just interesting me to read these posts against those arguing against private school "recruiting" in the past - so many similarities.
