  1. My, oh my, I just woke up from my nap, took some extra Geritol, and came on here only to be surprised (or maybe not) to see someone brought race into this. So silly. Don't know or care about the race of anyone involved. Totally irrelevant. Regarding recruiting, methinks they doth protest too much. And I really wasn't suggesting South thinks this is their misfortune in the least. Well, I've been up a little while so I guess I will go back to my rocking chair until bedtime. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  2. ...uh, you are ignoring the point. Never mind; I'm sure you are right. I'm sure he just happened to move to Kingsport from Nashville. Simply good luck for DB. Another happy coincidence. I am SO sorry for suggesting otherwise. And for so ignorantly not accepting that if someone is eligible that proves there is no recruiting. Indeed, that is proof positive. My deepest apologies. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />
  3. Oh, I have no doubt he will be eligible... So when does the high school recruiting season for DB end? Will they be "picking up" any more players before the season starts? Isn't there some Memphis recruit coming in, too? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
  4. I just heard from a friend who knew a lot about the Blue Chip camp -- said the camp had over 40 college coaches who worked with nearly 300 kids, who were mostly seniors serious about playing at the next level. He said Jake made it into the group competing for the top lineman and a kid from TN High was in top 4. Also Ty's 7 on 7 team did really well and was in semi-finals. Heath was chosen by the coaches as one of the top 5 players across all skill positions and was the only quarterback who won (and as just a junior). All this is pretty impressive. Of course, we know South players aren't the only ones working hard and doing well, but it sounds like our crew performed exceptionally well at this camp among really good players from all over. Good luck to all of them!
  5. Is this the thread where knowledgeable people will actually discuss football? If so, some of us out there would like to be enlightened by those "in the know" about what is going on with South players. Anyone know anything about camps being attended by Ty or others, and any news on colleges interested in Ty or Bobby or anyone? I heard several players went to a good camp in NC -- anyone know how that went?
  6. Agreed. Heard it from many and noticed it myself.
  7. Isn't WCJC a clever smart-aleck? Actually this thread is doing just what a thread should -- bringing people with genuine interest in and knowledge of a team together to discuss it. It's nice to know that DB AH's are so interested in SSHS football that they spend time reading it.
  8. Good idea, muttandjeff...can you put these questions on the thread (or start a new one) where can hopefully have this informative type of discussion? I am with you on being sick of all the other crap.
  9. Volman, sarcasm is an intelligent form of humor. I figured there would be quite a few on here who would miss it. I, however, thought it was hilarious.
  10. Long time stalker, first time poster here. Would some of the knowledgeble Rebel watchers (you know who you are)give more info on what they observed at the scrimmage last night? Volman? Crawdad? Comp? (Any highlights other than Heath? -- which I agree with, by the way) I don't have a kid or grandkid on the team but have been watching for years as my granddaughters, their friends, and my friends' sons and grandsons have gone through CHMS and South. I enjoy (and get annoyed at) the ridiculousness of many of the postings on this board, and appreciate input from knowledgeable posters. So post away!
