  1. I stand corrected. I guess they are afraid of the mighty green wave.
  2. Not sure how making a decision in order to get more people to come to the game is a sign of being scared of Gallatin fans coming to your stadium. The only thing you got right is that admission is $7.
  3. I’m sure Coach Crabtree would rather focus on coaching a football game than planning logistics for a radio show.
  4. I still think this a Beech team has a lot of improving to do, but believe they will win another close one at Shackle Island.
  5. Some of these same coaches are making it to Sumner Co middle school games too.
  6. Congrats to the Patriots on a big win. Our teams seem to be going in opposite directions.
  7. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen two teams play more poorly in the same game. Beech did almost nothing offensively the whole night as their O line was a no-show again. They scored all their points on HHS turnovers giving them a short field. Beech got the ball at the Commando 10 yard line in the first half and could only get a fg. Hats off to HHS for spending most of the night in Beech’s backfield. HHS literally gave this one to Beech in the fourth quarter. I’m expecting improvement as the season goes on, but tonight Beech took a step backwards.
  8. If they don’t all get recruited away by private’s and magnets.
  9. MJ not as good as last year, Gallatin better than last year. MJ wins a close one at home.
  10. Fair enough. We do agree on two very good teams going at it Friday night in Paris. Could easily be the best game in the state this week.
  11. Brentwood is the best team Beech has seen all year. In the first scrimmage of the season, Brentwood won 2-0. As was stated earlier on here, Beech was able to move the ball some, but Brentwood was clearly the better team. Beech’s best RB didn’t play, but Brentwood still wins with Beech at full strength. They are solid all over the field with good size and depth. Hats off to HC for scheduling a team like Brentwood. As long as you can stay healthy, it will benefit you later in the year. My guess, FWIW, 34-17 Brentwood.
  12. The Bucs are still a work in progress, particularly on the offensive side of the ball. I expect a very close game.
  13. I thought HC won the battle at the line of scrimmage. HC made a few more mistakes than Beech and the Bucs were able to take advantage. I give the nod to HC even though they lost. Beech has a lot of work to do offensively, particularly line play. See y’all in November.
  14. Looks like the weather is going to be perfect Friday night. Hope/believe HC will bring a big crowd. All high school athletes should be fortunate enough to get to play in a game like this one: two highly ranked teams, two great communities backing them, big crowd, bright lights. There is no sporting event better (for my money) than a good high school football game!
  15. Beech too is a work in progress at this point. The defense has played pretty well so far in scrimmages and in Jax last week. They had a couple of dumb penalties that benefitted NS in the first half, but really shut them down in the second half. Several young d linemen have shown nice improvement over the last few weeks. The offense is still finding its identity and developing a passing game to go with its normal run game. The new qb had a decent showing in week 1. You know you are always going to see two great programs with a lot of tradition when Beech and HC get together. Two programs where local kids grow up dreaming of playing for them. I’m looking forward to another great crowd and great game Friday night in Shackle Island.
  16. As a Beech fan, I was very impressed with North Side. They are huge up front and pretty athletic at the skill positions. I think they wore down a little in the 4th qt with a lot of guys going both ways. They had a pretty good combination of run and pass. I really think they could be a more run oriented offense with those big horses up front. Good luck to the Indians the rest of the way. Improvements to your stadium were very nice.
  17. No, not mad. Just correcting you when you say mj has beaten Beech 3 yrs in a row. But I guess it’s understandable that you’d try to block out 2017. Maybe we’ll all get lucky and you’ll go underground with your tail between your legs agin this year like you did that year, “buddy”.
  18. FWIW, Beech beat mj in the 2017 jamboree 15-14. You remember 2017 don’t you? That’s the year mj beat Glencliff to start the season and you were convinced y’all were the best team in the state. Then you lost to a mediocre Riverdale team in the first round of the playoffs.
  19. Pretty sure the freshman score was 7-0. In the varsity game MJ hit a 42 yard fg with 1 second left to win 10-7.
  20. Maybe I missed it, but how did Gallatin/Shelbyville go?
