  1. Although I think Coalfield is much better this year than in years past, I don't think they can tell how good till they play the DCA's, Boyd's, CPA'a ect. that prime themselves for title runs each year. I think Coalfield is a top 10 team in A, but we'll have to wait till playoffs to see if it could be top 4, 2, or #1. ACCARP
  2. Although Rockwood seems to be very good this year, there is absolutely no doubt that Alcoa is a juggernaut. Therefore, even though Rockwood will play hard, Alcoa will still win pretty big. Alcoa by 25. ACCARP
  3. I think this will be close, but I think that Greenback has something to prove. I see it something like... GHS-32 MHS- 24. ACCARP
  4. I personally don't believe that they are underrated for one of many reasons. 1- they haven't beaten anyone really good. 2- they can't beat the # 1,2,3 teams in region 2A. 3- they have a fairly weak schedule to be claiming "underrated." ACCARP
  5. Rockwood should have no trouble with this one unless they become unfocused. Rockwood by 35 ACCARP
  6. I think that Greenback has a good team, but Sequoyah is just as capable of playing well if they get it together. If Sequoyah can stop Greenbacks running game they are in it; however, if Greenback lets #3 have a good game Greenback will be in for a long night. I think for now that Greenback has too much, even though I think Sequoyah will get theirs. Greenback by 16. ACCARP
  7. That may be true; however, the odds of both teams comming in and playing to the best of their capabilities are slim to none. If that happened, I don't know what I would do. I do believe that it would be a close one. We'll see. ACCARP
  8. Its kindof funny people talking about how OS wasn't impressive and how they didn't get a "big win" over Harriman, I mean even though it puts them one step closer to the playoffs and its a county rival, and it turned out to be close. I'll admit, neither of these teams really impress me, but then again, neither does Kingston. Now I'm not saying that kinston can't or won't beat OS, but like its already been said, Kingston didn't beat Harriman by that much either. plus OS had a 10 point lead late in the 4th. Anyway, you can talk about what each team has to do to win, but no team will get to prove anyone's theory till Friday. It could go either way. ACCARP
  9. I don't see OR having too many problems with this game. OR by 22. ACCARP
  10. For OS' sake, let's just hope business it taken care of in week 6 against Wartburg. ACCARP
  11. While I don't think that this game will be one for the books, I do think it will be closer than 21 points. (or what OS did to Kingston last year.) I think that both teams will struggle, but Kinston should definitly have the advantage with a better running game, defense, and the home field. With all this in mind, I think that Kingston will win by about 12 or so; however that was not my prediction in the RC news. Oh well. ACCARP
  12. I saw PJ play Ezell. I think it was #18, he's a corner and reciever, punt returner, ect. If you stop him, you have a better chance of winning; although their running back hit the holes hard also. ACCARP
  13. I saw Ezell play against PJPII in week 0. If they haven't gotten any better since then they are in for a long night. I say DCA by 20. ACCARP
  14. LC is a very good team, but I do think that Fulton poses a little more threat with a variety of weapons on offense. For now, I say Fulton by 8. ACCARP
  15. Its like this... If OS' defense can show up and half-way defend against the run, OS can stay in it. OS also needs to get a solid ground attack going to open up the passing game when the time comes. If Midway plays strong D and can, as most teams have against OS, run the ball successfully, they will win. As for this one, I just won't admit to defeat to the wave just yet. OS by 8. ACCARP
  16. Its like I've always said, the only team that can seriously beat Maryville in 4a is Maryville. ACCARP
  17. I just read all 8 pages of this story. what a terrible accident this girl has went through. She is very lucky to have such wonderful family and friends to support her. Prayers from Oliver Springs and Antioch will be added to the list, but I have never heard of too much prayer. ACCARP

    Hazing

This has been drug out way too long. The simple fact is that if ANY sort of initiation process can cause physical harm to another player, its hazing and its WRONG!!! It should not be accepted, tolerated, ect. You shouldn't have to take it, and beieve me it doesn't always happen on free will. If they don't participate, they likely will be forced or they will not be accepted as part of the "brotherhood." Anyway, I'm glad there are some sensible people on this thread. ACCARP

    Hazing

Don't be the one getting hazed?? Are you blaming the freshmen for growing up or what? I agree with Waggle, its a brotherhood where to be successful you have to be able to trust the guy beside you. Maybe its just me, but I'm not going to have to much confidence in a guy who thinks its funny to watch his teammates and "brothers" in pain. I kindof see it as hard for a new and inexperienced freshman to stick up for himself against a group of seniors who are suppossed to be "leaders." To me, if he sticks up for himself, the seniors will feel threatened and that will cause even more chaos/hazing. I truly believe that if physical harm was done, there should be charges. If you look in the roanecounty news or www.roanecounty.com one kid had to go to the hospital. Initiation is fine with me: carry pads, shower last, ect. However, hazing or physical abuse to be a part or to be accepted in a football program is wrong and needs to stop. ACCARP

    Hazing

I totally agree with you. Especially with some of these kids from Kingston. It seems to me the example being set in that school is, "its ok to do DRUGS and its ok to HAZE students. Since you play football, you won't see any REAL punishment." These Kingston Seniors, not all of them just the guilty ones, have a rude awakening to come if they do some of the things they do outside of their town. First, there was the party with all sorts of drugs- no real punishment. Second, the Hazing that took place- No real punishment was distributed. I personally believe that these students should not only miss the season, but should be prosecuted. However, that is not my decision to make since I am not involved. I personally am ashamed to be from Roane County. I want to apologise to all the victims involved for no Real justice being done. This is a very sick ritual, but as long as you have people who care more about winning games on Friday night than making sure justice is done for all, it will sadly continue... Well, at least in Kingston. I too personally DO NOT care if this post offends anyone. If you think that hazing is right or that the right thing was done in this situation, you personally need to check yourself!!! ACCARP
  22. I heard ORis a bad team to mess with this year, but DB always knows how to play them. I still say OR by 10. ACCARP

    De La Salle

Se La Sal is definitly #1 until proven otherwise. No questions asked. What an ignorant poll! ACCARP
  24. I think the game will be a lot closer this year; however, I still think that Sequoyah has too many weapons for Harriman to compete with. I think both will start off slow, but look for Sequoyah to get it going late. Sequoyah by 25 ACCARP
  25. I think that Midway CAN play with Rockwood; however, I think that Rockwood has the mind-game advantage over them. If Midway believes they can win and they don't make a lot of mistakes, I think this will be a close one. However, I think some defensive let downs will hurt the waves and Rockwood wins by 20. ACCARP
