Once again, as I've said all year long, Lipscomb is in a world all its own. Not only will they win the state, they will win by double didgets. I'm not trying to take anything away from Hunington, but I call it like I see it. Oh well, we won't know until Friday. I am pulling for Lipscomb, but that has little to do with who I think will win. I'm pulling for Riverdale but I don't believe they should be there. If not for a dumb call by the OR staff plus the poor execution of the OR qb, it would be Oak Ridge in the finals. However, I don't want to take anything away from Riverdale, they played a good game and came up with the big plays when needed. I just think on what I see. Anyway, I will be there and I will cheer on Riverdale as they will probably win the championship. Good luck. ACCARP

I think BBS will win this one. They were here last year, but there was a sour taste left in their mouths. I think both of these teams are very good, but I really like they wy BBS is so fundamentally sound. I think BBS will win, but it will be close. ACCARP

I went down to Lincoln County last Friday night and had the chance to watch ol' Riverdale play against the Falcons. Although Riverdale did not look anywhere near the caliber that we are used to seeing especially the 2001 and 2002 squads they still looked good. They are a hard nosed football team with a stingy defense. The offense wasn't impressive but got the job done. They have quite a stable of capable running backs and a quarterback who can make something out of nothing. The quarterback is a good scrambler but I was not impressed at all with the way he threw the football. Riverdale seemed like they are a little one dimentional with only being able to run the football. The Falcons had more big play potential with a potent passing offense but Riverdale just doesn't put the ball in the air much.When Lincoln Co. passed they seemed to do so with little effort. Riverdale does not have a very good secondary. On the other hand, Riverdale's defense was nearly flawless against the run. They have a big d-line that really shut down Lincoln Co running game. It is going to be a good matchup watching Riverdales defense take on the two talented backs from Oak Ridge. Oak Ridge loves to run the football and with Guilmire and Booker in the backfield who wouldn't. I think that Oak Ridge's offense will prove too much for Riverdale's defense. Oak Ridge's quarterback can throw the ball much better than what I saw from Riverdale's. I think Oak Ridge wins a close hard fought game. Oak Ridge 30, Riverdale 26. Go WILDCATS!! Maryville should win this one by about 15 or so if their heads are on straight. West is good, but Maryville has too much deapth/experience for this West team. Maryville will play at MTSU again this year. ACCARP

I've seen Boyd play this year. They are one of the most fundamentally sound teams I've seen play this year. They will get the early lead against CAK and never look back. ACCARP

although i am certainly pulling for OR in this one, I think that Riverdale wins. Riverdale has so much experience in these situations, plus they have always been a 5a powerhouse. I still say go Wildcats, but it will take a near perfect game to pull it out... which is expected in the 4th round. ACCARP

First off all, let me say congradulations to Alcoa on beating a good OS team. Alcoa played a very good game. They held OS' offense to a very low margin. Now let me say to all those dreamers who believe that Alcoa can upset Lipscomb, its time to wake up. lipscomb is one of the best prepared teams in the state, plus, they have more players/deapth than any 2a team. Don't get me wrong, it would be great to see Alcoa's sophs. pull off the upset...but I am not going to bet on it. I think next year they can and will, but as for now, this is Lipscomb's show to run. I want to know who everyone is pulling for in all 5 classes to win the state title. Not necessarily the team who you think will win it all, just who you are pulling for. 1A- Boyd Bucannan 2A- Oliver Springs 3A- Smith County 4A- Maryville 5A- Oak Ridge ACCARP

Uh... well... simply put... NO. Tyner is good, especially for a 2a team, but they would not beat a Riverdale, Maryville, MBA, ect. In other words the big dominant teams of Tennessee High School Football. However, yes they are still a 2a powerhouse. ACCARP

AS much as I hate to agree with Footballguy because of the way he said it i must agree with him. I saw the SP vs. Boyd game earlier this year and they did NOT look like a 1a team. Anyway, good luck to whoever advances. Out for now... ACCARP

I think if DB "spots" OR 21 points again, there will be no comming back. This is playoffs now, there should be no letting up. If somethink works go to it until it can be stopped. Anyway, if DB can contain the OR rushing attack, DB will win. I guarantee it. OR has not had to consistantly use their passing game for needed points. I saw them play the first time, other that the SP tounovers and poor special teams play it was a good game. Both teams have a lot of speed and decipline. I would love to be there again, but I have obligations to be somewhere else. Anyway good luck to both and go BBS. (nothing personal to SP) ACCARP

In my opinion, Maryville is a great 4a team. They have the talent, coaching, and experience that it takes to win at this level and beyond. However, i am not sure if they are the best team in 4a this year. There are a lot of good/solid teams in 4a including a very good Hillsboro team who would love nothing more than to get revenge on Maryville in the finals. Don't get me wrong, I am pulling for Maryville; I just wander if they can keep mustering up enough strength to keep beating all these goood teams. Only time will tell. ACCARP

Just from my own experience, you can never spend too much time in the weight room. It is here that you and your teamates make yourselves stronger, faster, and better. I encourage your son to spend as much time as possible lifting because it gives him the advantage when its his turn to play. ACCARP

What were Hall and Beechboard's individual stats? ACCARP

Goose, who did better in individual stats, Hall or Beechboard? Also, was it true that LA was the #1 team in the state? If so, its time that OS get a little respect and some 1st place votes. This is the 2nd time in 2 years that OS has been able to beat a #1 team. ACCARP

I know 52 and if he could he'd play through a broken leg. I wonder how much this nice weather will affect both teams come this friday? Anyway, should be a good one. ACCARP

I keep betting against CAK and they keep proving me wrong. So, I will pick, once again, against them against Greenback. Although, CAK has had a very good run in the playoffs, they keep having to come from behind to win. I think if this happens at Greenback, their defense will be prepared to stop the comeback. So I say Greenback wins by 13. ACCARP
