  1. In response, if your not impressed with A talent, then we could quickly mention Waverly of which I'm sure you would agree that they do stand out in 11-AA. Again I will say scoring is not everything to consider when you're discussing a MVP award, but Clark did score 30 points against them, and will also remind folks that's coming from the point guard position. If you've been starting for four years, you can bank on the fact that the other teams are going to know where you are on the court and be defended well. That being said, it's hard to have a great game every night.
  2. First game was a six point loss (82-76). However, I don't believe a MVP award should be solely based on scoring or a scoring average, but if someone only wants to point that out as earlier posts have indicated on this topic, then I will remind people that Clark scored 34 points in that game. I would also like to add that Clark is a member of the 1,000 point club as a point guard, which is not easy to do. Also, his past teams have never had district or region post season play to help accumulate that total. Jackson is a good player, but maybe not as valuable to his team as Clark.
  3. Chase Clark from Houston County for district MVP. Four year starter at point guard. Can handle and pass the ball. Can shoot and score the ball. Sees the court very well and creates many opportunities for teammates.
  4. Dont know what qualifies as a "star" player but HC has a junior thats entering his third year as a starter. HC split with NC last year and beat Lead twice, one time without their leading scorer playing. I agree NC is probably team to beat. Not sure bout Lead and Hyde or why theyre even in this conference. McEwen is always well coached. ER and JB should always have talent with location. Never know about CA. Clarksville is the talent pool of middle Tn.
  5. I'm assuming the Bruce lady will remain the girl's assistant and haven't heard about the AD position. It wouldn't surprise me if Mark Beal didn't end up with that title.
  6. I know why they weren't hired. I also know the job was set for Cox and Young two weeks ago. Not trying to be mean, but identity and political lesson not needed. It doesn't change the JUNK YARD hiring tactics the Houston County School System is using against their former students, athletes, volunteers, and employees.
  7. Houston County School System has put the writing on the wall. "To all high school graduates, if you are considering a coaching career in the future and you still want to live where you were born and raised, find something else to do with your life, WE DON'T WANT YOU!" Take a look at the coaching positions throughout the school system, bet you don't see any of those people in your old yearbooks or at your class reunions. Oh, I take that back, you might find one. Nothing against some of those people because some are good folks. This new coach may be a great guy and brillant coach, I hope that he is, but that's not the point here. It's absolutely pathetic and disgraceful hiring practices.
  8. Today is suppose to be the BIG day. Will HC do the right thing and hire a qualified LOCAL, or give away another one of our important positions to an OUT-OF-TOWNER? If I were the GAMBLER, I would bet the out-of-towner will choose the out-of-towner especially beings they already have an out of town working relationship from the past. You got to know when to hold them(LOCAL) and know when to let them walk away(OUT-OF-TOWNER)!!!!!
  9. Coach Moore and Bucciarelli should be the only two considerations. Period, end of conversation!!!!!!!!! It's a joke and a crying shame that you can go to college four to five years to teach and coach for a living and probably not be considered for this life changing position in your own home town. If that's not a slap in the face, then I don't know what is. It's like, so what if you attended school here, played basketball here, coached basketball here, we want somebody else. I think it's common as crap that all of our principals are from out of town. We've got teachers that have recently graduated college that can't even get a job here. Before their interviews, the Principal at HCHS probably knew nothing about these two men (until Admin filled them in), their local ties to the school and community, or even what they looked like. Nothing against Coach Baggett, but you won a district championship this past year that you wasn't expecting to win. Now was the right time to retire, good decision, even though the DISAGREEMENT kind of made it for you. Nothing against Cathy Harvey, but it's time for her to go to the house as well, along with a few choice school board members. I've read where Bucciarelli doesn't have the PULL to get the job. That's the perfect example of what kind of back stabbing garbage you have to deal with from our administration, when you need PULL instead of QUALIFICATION. Mark Beal needs to take a long look at his support numbers (also known as votes) back when he actually had to run for office instead of his now created office (also known as job) and compare them to Sherrill Moore's support. The point is, let's get off the HIGH HORSE and hire qualified local people for local jobs that have local support!!! We need to stop hiring coaches that just want to draw a supplement salary and hire coaches that "love the game" Moore and Bucciarelli both have coached for years when they have had kids involved and when they have not. A coach cannot put the proper amount of time into a team if they are coaching every sport in some capacity and spread to thin. You should have a Basketball Coach, Football Coach and a Baseball Coach not a combinatin of all inorder to increase ones salary!
