  1. FRA ; 3 well loved starting seniors. We will miss you.
  2. Game plays at 5PM EST. FRA will be broadcasting the game LIVE at: http://www.atwsportscast.com/HighSchoolPages/FRAindex.htm This will be the first FRA soccer event broadcast live via the Internet. Please join us to help support these two teams in this championship game. Enjoy!
  3. Will the private school bashing never end. Let's look at the girls from FRA listed in the beginning of this thread; Lyndsey Almon (O.K. she entered her freshman year), her friends on her club team were attending at FRA, maybe she would rather play high school ball with her friends, Kate Woodard (at FRA since Kindergarten), must have excellent recruiting if they spotted her then, Logan Rogers (since 6th grade), I don't know you might recognize talent at that age, and Tory Pitts (I think 5th or 6th) again you must know what you are doing to spot 11 and 12 year old soccer players. Please, lets not say that these successful teams in what ever sport have cheated in some way, these girls, coaches and parents have put in thousands of hours of work, most of these girls have been playing soccer since the age of 4, (in either Bellevue or Brentwood). Goodpasture Softball in the past 4 years has owned A-AA softball, I'm sick and tired of my daughter's team not getting past Goodpasture, but I know that Goodpasture has put in more time and has more talent than my daughter's team, they should be the ones who move on. They keep getting good talent but they are not going out and stealing from other schools, talent from other schools are coming to them. We all know a successful program attracts talent. Remember, these programs go in cycles, if it was not FRA or Goodpasture, then its Hillsboro (football), Shelbyville (basketball), Riverdale (football), or Forrest (name a sport) and that's just in the middle of TN. So, just hang on, who knows your school might be next and then some one will be talking about how TSSAA looks the other way when it comes to your school.
  4. FRA girls ... good luck. No matter who wins, we're very proud of what you've accomplished this year. You've always had our respect, and now hopefully that of other naysayers in the area who are "surprised" at the position in which you find yourselves today. We were the lower seed going into this and you all came through to bring us out on top. Don't forget, this is where we were last year when we upset DCA in the region, and ultimately ended up as Region champs. Thanks for playing so well and consistently ... when it mattered most. This is what we've been working toward all year. You've got the talent and the perserverance to go all the way. Let's go out there and make it happen!! Go Panthers! FRA - ALL THE WAY!
  5. Are FRA kids worth 1.8 more, or 1.8 better than other kids? I hear FRA has 278 (+/-) kids in the high school, why would you need a gym that seats 1250? If you win the region, you should be able to chose to play outside if the court meets the requirments. Just this old man's thoughts.
  6. You mean the winner of FRA/Ezell game.
  7. Kudos to the Pearl-Cohn coach, her big post player (Sheleetha Ferby #42) receieved a technical foul in the second period, the coach removed Ferby from the game and never allows her to return. Ferby sat on the bench the rest of the game and cheered her team mates on. This game was big for Pearl-Cohn with 4 minutes left in the game, Ezell-Harding only had a 6 point lead (a game with 1st in the district on the line). this coach teaches her team about discipline, how many other coaches would do that. I am very proud to witness a coach putting the discipline of her girls over winning of a game, that's big. Thanks for the lesson coach.
  8. Wow, one and two in their district. Wish I could be at Pearl-Cohn on Friday night. I hope there's plenty of atmosphere, big crowd for Pearl-Cohn will be in their advantage.
  9. Keep your eye on David Lipscomb or Ezell-Harding, they may sneek up on you.

What about "open zone" with "school vouchers"? Parents use open market to choose the school that best fits their childs needs. If a parent wants their child at a school that has a great soccer program and a good education, then let the free market prevail. Priviate and public schools will have to compete for customers, no more children given an inadequate education because they happen to live in a poor community .
  11. Top of 3rd, FRA at bat. no outs, 3-2 on batter,no one on base, no score. Rain delayed until 3:30 pm Tues.
