  1. It's hard to keep a Bulldog down; congrats on giving them their closest district or region game yet (except for Westmoreland, I think?). I've got faith in you next game guys. Good game, Pickett County.
  2. #49 is Matt Kirk..."Soul-Train", if ya will. He's a Junior this year, and he is still on the team. The last game I saw of CCHS's was Watertown, and he was playing on the line as #53, I think, but I believe that was a one-game thing. He's still on the team though.
  3. Man...I don't know what's happened to my Dawgs. I hope this opens their eyes and gets them to play like I know they can. Two shut-outs in a row is NOT our type of football.
  4. If you call beating a team in a meaningless game for Gordonsville something, then so be it. I will not doubt that CCHS has played better the last 2 years but if that game would have meant anything to Gordonsville they would have won by 21 points. Don't discredit that game for a silly reason like that; the team who wants it most won that night. Assuming Gordonsville DIDN'T take it seriously (which, considering I played against them, I feel like they obviously did), then why take up for a team that didn't give it everything they got? I'm just saying that Clay County High School deserves the respect of beating a talented G-ville on their home field, which is something nobody else in the region had done last year. We're not promised to be #1, #2, or even in the play-offs, but from watching my friends and team-mates practice over this offseason and at Spring Practice, I have much more faith in them now than what I had after my season ended last year where we lost 15 Seniors.
  5. I was lookin' for Clay County, but I had to settle for Celina. =P CCHS made a name for itself its opening year, and the Class of 2005 is going to help carry it. Keep in mind that CCHS was the only team to beat Gordonsville in this region last year, and had them shut out 20-0 at halftime...on their home field. That is NOT promised to happen again by any means, but I certainly have faith in CCHS to go the extra distance this year.
  6. Despite Clarkrange showing Clay County minimal class on several occasions, I still support our 7A district and 4A region...good luck Clarkrange, represent us well.
  7. Man... I couldn't attend the game (I had no ride, pretty much), but it's sad to hear this. Clay County has nothing to be ashamed of though. I'm sure this is hard on seniors Amber Strong and Stephanie Rich both...just remember you two gave everyone some great memories and made CCHS's first ever season a remarkable one!
  8. Our girl's team is now in state, too. If we're fortunate, our boys may be in state too after tomorrow.
  9. You have the prayers of Clay County.
  10. Especially the Unaka and Temple coaches...twelve overtimes in three games would be enough to call the ambulances, for sure!
  11. Clay *knocks on wood* Gordonsville Trousdale Pickett
  12. Another great game for Clay County, this time for the girls. Congrats to everyone! Teirah played the best minutes she's had yet in her high school career coming off of the bench. The starting crew did their job like nobody's business, and Pauli Hermann took home the District MVP. Good game Clarkrange, good luck in Region.
  13. Whether you are a Clay County fan, a Pickett County fan, or just a basketball fan, there would be no way you couldn't enjoy this game. Both team's crowds were deafening, and both teams played great. Dusty Adams should definately be commended for his defense on Co-MVP Joseph Baily while other Co-MVP Chase made our offense look amazing tonight. Good game Pickett, good luck in the Region Tourney.
  14. I don't remember the score, but we won by 17. It was 23-21 CCHS at half-time, but then we took over from there. Good game Clarkrange.
  15. I figure you're from Pickett County, seeing as how you haven't got anything better to do than coming up with nick-names for the player who tore up the scene when we played you last time. He is a quick little guard, but he's also alot more than you'd like to give him credit for.
  16. Well said. Hopefully we'll prove the rankings wrong over and over again in tourney-time.
  17. Without a coin-toss, we would still be tied for 1st place in our district (with the second highest-ranked team in the state, mind you). I believe that alone makes your point void. Come on, people...it's hard to get much respect when people like Mr. Polesit overlook the facts.
  18. Agreed; Clay County beat Gordonsville once (beat them by 27), Pickett County once (and lost to them once by game-winning free throws), RBS once, Friendship once (and lost once in over-time), and FRA too...yet all of these teams are ranked higher than Clay County. Also, we have three games that didn't count for our Strength Of Schedule or Strength + Success rankings because we played in a Kentucky tournament (we won two of our three, and they were all solid teams). We are now tied with Pickett County for #1 in our district, and Pickett is #1 in the entire 1A rankings! With all of that mentioned, it's actually incredible that Clay County isn't in even the Top 30.
  19. Holy moly, that's a low-scoring game! I'm somewhat surprised RBS didn't win tonight, but knowing they only scored 27 is nothing short of astounding. Someone needs to give more details here.
  20. This game should be VERY close. It can easily go either way, but I'm going to go against the bandwagon and predict that RBS will win this one.
  21. Where's the game being played at? RBS by 10.
  22. Congrats, Boyd. Most, if not all, of the Clay County football players on our team were supporting you (once we got out of the first round, anyways, he he he).
  23. I haven't really heard much about DCA or ever even see them play, but we found out in the first round how good of a team Boyd is. I have no prediction, but I wish Boyd the best of luck. Oh, and anyone who had been claiming that Boyd wasn't sportsman-like or whatever, I never heard a word from them personally while the game lasted, then their coach (Coach Akins, is that his name?) came over to our huddle after the game was over and congratulated us on our season. Maybe I just missed all the trash-talking or whatever, but Boyd has my respect when it comes to conduct. Last thing: Can someone please tell me what was the final score on the Boyd/CAK game last week?
  24. I won't bother defending our team from ignorance...but that was totally unprovoked and unnecessary, and you just looked stupid because of it.
  25. I'd like to see Watertown win this, I really would. However, they're going to need to bring everything they have to win it.
