  1. Oliver Springs 79 South Doyle 62 OS led by 20 plus points for most of 3rd and 4th quarters before Buley and Hall put on an scoring exhibition. Buley ended with 34 points, Hall had 32.
  2. Great picks KingBrian Freshman of Year- David Collett
  3. IF you are asking him if Sweetwater will score as many touchdowns as you posted your last post the answer is NO I think.
  4. Smith County 21 Trousdale 20 Bobcat Fans will be pulling for their Smith County brothers!
  5. I think Freshman Collett from Oliver Springs has 8 or 9 interceptions so far on the year. He could easily be leading the state as a freshman.
  6. The Bobcats play the biggest game in the history of football at OSHS when the Bobcats travel to play arch rival Sweetwater Friday night. Oliver Springs has only been to the quarterfinals of the playoffs once before in 1978 when they lost to eventual state champion Maryville. OSHS takes on Sweetwater for the fourth time in the last 2 seasons, with the Wildcats escaping defeat the previous three times. Last year, Sweetwater beat the Bobcats in regular season and knocked OS out of the playoffs in a very controversial game at Sweetwater. Once again, OS travels one hour south on I-75 to square off against the Wildcats, thoug this time in the 3rd round. A Bobcat victory would propel Oliver Springs into the semifinals for first time in school history. An undefeated Sweetwater team stands in the way. Intimidation doesn't exist, as OS is the only team that has tested Sweetwater this year and could have easily won the previous three games if not for circumstances some of their own doing. So, the Bobcats are fully confident. Expect a strong running game from Blank who was injured in the second half of the first gmae this year. With a healthy Blank and QB WHalen making some key scrambles, look for the Bobcats to control the time possesion and keep te Sweetwater Offense off the field. In the past, this has shown Oliver Springs will win most of the time. Every one knows about the heralded Bobcat Defense in shutting out 5 opponents this year. If the D holds up and doesn't break and allow the big plays that the Wildcats are capable of and OS can play "smash mouth football" on the offense side like they are capable of, then look for a BIG UPSET with Bobcats becoming the cideralla story of East Tennessee. Oliver Springs 17 Sweetwater 14
  7. players will be on display Thursday night as South Doyle travels to Oliver Springs. Buley and Hall are easily considered two of the best players in the state as juniors. This should be a exciting matchup.
  8. Michelle, then that means Upperman Middle would Def. beat most High school Teams from Middle Tennessee then.
  9. Calm down Crazed, I think Wartburg could go 8-2 or possibly 9-1 next year.
  10. I dont think the circumstances need to be revealed on this board. The word suicide already implies enough without describing the incident in detail. Steve is a cousin of mine and this has hit the CLinton and Oliver Springs communities hard. Steve was also a cousin of Clinton High Basketball Coach Tonya Lively Snyder (former OS player)
  11. with the Warbturg game next year at DJ Britian Field. Sure te Cats lose Blank, but when was the last time OS had trouble replacing a Tailback? With Whalen, Collet, and most of the Defense coming back, look for a special season for the Bobcats next year. The Cats non region Schedule is tough again with Seymour and Kingston, so this will make te Cats battle tested against other region teams who do not play tough non region games. 2. Wartburg- I think the easy non region schedule of the Bulldogs caught up with them in their two games against Oliver Springs. Wartburg easily had the talent to compete against the Bobcats, but I think OS had the advantage because of playing one of the most difficult schedules of any AA team. Until Wartburg upgrades its schedule, the Buldogs will have a difficult time winning the region. Oakdale, Coalfield, and Sunbright are good A programs, but there is a huge difference between them and Really top AA teams. By OS playing top AAA teams, it has given the Bobcats a clear advantage. 3. Alcoa- The young gun will be a year matured and thinking about a state championship in 04 as juniors. Look for the offense to be scary at times, but the Defense still not where it needs to be. 4. Rockwood- Enough talent returns to allow the Tigers to sneak into the playoffs. 5. Sweetwater- Losing that much talent means rebuild, not reload, but with tradition alone could sneak into playoffs. 6. Harriman- Should be improved, but enough to win a region game remains to be seen. Wartburg, OS, and Alcoa are the three teams that are capable of making noise in the playoffs. OS has the best chances of advancing past the quarterfinals, but Wartburg and ALcoa could suprise. By the end of the season, Alcoa could be the best team out of the bunch depending on how well the Tornaodes come together.
  12. Sade Buley, South Doyle is head and shoulders above any junior girl. That is saying alot too considering the talent. Others: Fuller, Shelbyville Newman, Shelbyville Hall, Oliver Springs Reed, Rhea County/Cookeville now
  13. I agree with what most of your post, but highly dispute your claim that Maryville doesn not make the playoffs in Georgia 4-A and I think in most cases the Rebels would make the players in 5-A. Living in Atlanta for 2 years and being familar with the GA High school football, Maryville could compete and win against most 4A schools. The Rebels would more than hold their own and compete against Powers you didnt even mention that are at the higher end of Georgia Football- Gwinnett, Chattahooche, Americus, and LaGrange. Maryville sports talent to compete against the teams you mentioned and has more than enough talent at the SKILL positions to make the playoffs. I highly dispute your claim. But, in general, I agree that FL and GA has superior talent than most states, esp. at the skill positions, but that doesnt mean some schools from other states are inferior.
  14. If dominating a game is scoring a late safety with less than 2 minutes in the game to take the score from 14-7 to 16-7 against Oliver Springs AT Sweetwater in week 8, then I like Oliver Springs chances and I hope Sweetwater dominates this game until the very end.
  15. Oliver Springs vs. Milan in AA
  16. If Sweetwater is Number 2 in the Nation, I guess Region 2AA is now considered a Nation. On a serious note, does that mean Oliver Springs is one of the top teams in the country since they came close to knocking off the Wildcats early this year?
  17. OS91

    Rockwood Football

Best Defense in 2AA is Rockwood??????? I think Oliver Springs Defense with its 5 shutouts would have something to say about that.
  18. Oliver Springs DL Milan Lewis COunty
  19. I agree completely.. Its was embarrassing to see highlights of the game on the telivision netwrorks and see the empty bleachers last night. I do expect Bobcat fans to fill up the bleachers at Sweetwater next week. From whatI have heard, There were sparse crowds throughout East Tennessee, so OS wasnt the exception. But, still there was no excuse for that turnout.
  20. Morgan County Fans were amazing last night in their support. WB/MC fans cheered the entire game and I think outnumbered OS fans and were without quesiton alot louder. Usually OS fans outnumber the home team the Bobcats play and are louder, but this was not the case last night. I have never seen the bleachers on the home side half filled like they were last night. WB fans need to be commended for the support considering the weather last night. It was very disappointing seeing Bobcat faithful stay home and listen to the game on the radio and not put on a rain jacket. I know this was a one game fluke and you can expect to see a rabid large crowd at Sweetwater as the Bobcats are in prime position to advance to the semifinals. Again, great job Morgan COunty!
  21. You are correct Tank, the perception is that Zwicker/OSHSMAN is self serving and destructive in his message/delivery on this board with his posts. How that transforms into reality/real life is unknown, but one would assume that it would be accurate in real life as well as this message board. Whether that is accurate are inaccurate is unknown. I actually don't really think about it. What I know is he is a 18/19 y/o,just one year removed from high school. Barely older than players we are postingt that particapate in the these Friday night games. For the most part, like you and I we are grown adults in our late 20's and above. He has used phrases like "Mistake on the Lake", "Deliverce" High, called a guy in his mid 30's ( that was arguing with him as well) a loser for attending high school athletics, continously remarks on officiating and an incident that transpired at Sweetwater in the locker room. I do think that most posters add fuel to the fire in trying to break his behavior down. And I agree that it goes too far. If I were an from Kingston, Wartburg, and Sweetwater and had to read some of the posts he posted, I would be angry and retaliate too. At the same time, Oliver Springs also is on the receiving end of derogatery posts that insult the athletic program. This post is a prime example. In some ways maybe he has a chip on his shoulder for insults/attitude that have been directed at OS for many years. Maybe he lashes out because he was part of the team that had possesions stolen and a playoff game stolen last year. Whatever the reasons, I dont think no one needs too label a 18/19 y/o regardless of what he is posting especially coming from grown men at age 40. He still has many years to mature and learn there are better ways to convey a message that to be destructive.
  22. Even though I dont agree with some tatics of OSHSMAN's posting, I would strongly disagree his knowledge of football is zilch. He has a firm knowledge of not only Tennesee high school athletics, but national as well. That is someting that not too many on this board can boost about.
  23. What a great two analogies considering the circumstances.. I am happy you see humor- Inferiority complex I would imagine.. Law, huh? - Seems like security guard at New River Gas Station would be a more accurate assesment. Ya reckon?
  24. Funny stuff, Festus.. Oliver Springs looks like a disaster area, huh? Class post, With or without the HICK EBONICS.........
