I heard the hotdogs were good but I have to admit I was too nervous to eat! Does it get easier after you've been there a few times? I saw fromthetop2 inquired about the next QB. That brought up memories of the BW/Riverdale freshman game when this year's seniors were freshmen. I was running the clock that night as RD gave us another lesson in Football 101 and I remember me and the announcer talking about how impressive Britton was. As I remember he threw a 50 yard strike dead on for a TD. Everson was our QB that night and we speculated how it was a possibility we would see them against each other again someday. Both of them turned out pretty well, huh?

That is a bunch of crap! Since we all own our own limos and have full time drivers that was of no concern. However, too much humidity tends to suppress the full bouquet of our fine wines and dulls the pungent taste of the little fish eggs! How much could we be expected to endure?

Some of your info is just a little wrong...Steckel is the ONLY linebacker graduating. The QB will probably be Thomas Welch which you saw Sat. night when Everson went to TB. Thomas is 6'5" and about 215 and is a young 15 yrs old with a rifle arm. Moore is back as receiver and db with several of the younger wr's getting lots of time during the regular season. True they loose a great Senior class but the foundation is still there and Crawford will put together another great D. They will be competitive.

From a Brentwood dad..thanks for the congrats! We have always admired and envied the Riverdale program and used it as a benchmark of where we would like the BHS program to be. Years ago we were surprised at the amount of class and character you guys had...guess our envy made us assume you would be jerks but we were wrong. It is nice to see how far we have have come as a program in 8 years and we thank you for serving as a model....of course you providing us with what we think is the best high school coach in the state is also appreciated! I know you hated to loose Crawford but we feel a superior power led him to us! After getting Coach Daniels 5 years ago and now Coach Crawford we count our blessings daily. They both have been so important to our success. Congratulations on a great year at RHS. It is obvious you were not as talented as past years but still have the heart of a champion. I only hope Brentwood has learned how to win as well as you guys have! Good Luck in 03.

I was at practice yesterday and froze...I'll assure you it was not inside. They have been wisked away today to a secret location ( I hear it may be Junction, Texas ala Bear Bryant....that's a joke Chakara ). Re: the music at the Franklin game.....taped music was used since our band was out of town. The music was always turned off as they broke the huddle and was only played from time to time. Defense was the difference in that game....not music.

This is from 2 houses down...Can you believe it has been 4 years since we watched the Woodland vs Page MS Championship game? Seems like yesterday! This is it guy! The one we have been waiting for and talking about for YEARS. I have seen this game played a thousand times in my yard and the results are always the same! I know you join me in saying how proud we are of all the guys and especially THE FELLAS. We thank God for the opportunity to see them all grow into great young men that reflects the morals and traits we all strive to instill in them. Austen has been a joy to know and has served as the leader both on and off the field. Thank you for allowing my family to be a part of his life and thank you for all the help and dedication you have contributed to the program. It's Gonna Be!

Brentwood picks up Smyrna and Blackman for 2003 plus of course Ravenwood in region.

Great idea! The Blue Cross Champion will only have played 2 more games than the Private boys with 2 extra game's worth of injuries! Don't know what games you guys have been watching but I haven't seen anything left on the field by the winning or losing teams. These kids are laying it on the table every play and I don't see how they can have another game left in them! The City Paper are idiots for even suggesting this....as is that moron from Maryville! Man, those folks over there must be smoking their mountain laurel...sure think a lot of themselves!

Good to see you still keep up with the Bruins! We are still in this thing because your class left a legacy of class and teamwork that could not be ignored by these Seniors! Your leadership last year left a lasting impression on this defense and much of what they do was triggered by you. Good luck and stay in touch with TEAM BRENTWOOD. We aim to go all the way!

Jack Daniels has to get a mention. He went to Brentwood when they had won 2 games in 2 years and no tradition. He installed one of the first 4/5 wide receiver offenses in Tennessee and went to 5 straight playoffs, including 2 quarter finals. He won the first 3 years with guards and centers weighing 165 pounds. He has installed the same offense at Ravenwood and they have played well with everything being considered. He adjusts to his personnel as well as anyone at any level.

You guys ran that E&H formation well and with great surprise! It was neat seeing your coaches doing anything to give you a chance! It hasn't been long ago we were 0-10 so we know what you are going thru....we started throwing a lot...actually every play sometimes. Hang in there and have hope! BTW...how's the guy that got hurt? Hope he is OK, I understand he was in lots of pain. Give him our regards and tell him he is in our prayers.

We are certainly lucky at Bwood to have Coach Crawford! After several years of bottom dwelling, great effort was made to get the right people in place. Jack Daniels was the right man to take us in a new direction and Coach Crawford is the right one to take us the rest of the way! He is a great coach but, more importantly, he is a good person, loves the kids, and they have a HUGE respect for him! He is the type person I, as a father, want my son to be around! We would love to meet a Murfreesboro school @ MTSU in December!

To suggest ANY team would play their JV against another team's varsity it moronic! BW recognizes Page has some excellant athletes...many of them played against Page Middle School for the Championship when they were at Woodland and remember a tough game. BW should have and does have more athletes due to 5a vs 3a but nothing is being taken for granted. The team feels like they played poorly in some areas last week and are working hard to overcome the shortcomings. We know we need work on the passing game and better oline blocking. I assure you...the starters will be in the game as long as necessary.....our starters have worked as hard as anyone's and deserve, and will get the chance, to play. Good luck to Page...they have some really good players.

I don't think the recruiting comment came from a BHS person. We have known who is up the street for years and know their tradition. Sometimes we don't necessarily agree with how private schools get the players but that is why they are in D2. BA is a better team than they were last year and so are we! We missed too many assignments and made too many penalties at crucial times to beat a good team like BA. Having said that we feel good about the 292 yards offense on a good D with those errors. We also feel good that about a third of BA's offense came on 3 plays. Eliminate those and the early blocking/pass interference play that led to BA's field goal in the last seconds of the first half and that thing gets REAL close! BA is an excellant team that probably deserves the ranking they have. BHS is going to be O.K.!!!
