  1. Townes injured his knee but I don't think it was very serious. BA's program appears to be back on track after a few bad years.
  2. coffey is only a state champion becaue he's the best athlete. that's what D-II is about in the upper classes. I remember J.T. Wash dominating him two years ago, and I know Coffey is not much of a better wrestler now than he was then, he's just stronger and quicker, with less competition.
  3. how many does BA place? i say 4 with 1 state champion, either Cash or Brooks at 160
  4. If i were a potential recruit, I wouldn't want to play for Bruce Pearl either. He has no class, and cares about nothing else but being popular among the fans and advancing his career. He has done so many things that make his character look very questionable, yet every UT fan ignores these because as of now they have no football program and have to depend on the basketball team to cheer on, and they are producing victories. UT fans are always fairweather, and I'm not surprised at all that they're ignoring his past incidents. First Phil Fulmer and now Bruce Pearl...a lot of class at this school. And by the way I am big a Pat Summit fan.
  5. I'm not trying to say that BA even has a chance against Baylor, but they will compete more than they have in a few years. They're probably the most improved team in the state with Coach Cash there. When was the last time Baylor went to the Clinic Bowl by the way? Nice history there.
  6. vandy beat wichita state LAST year. That's not really relevant at all. I still like Bone a lot, but that fact's not relevant.
  7. wow- ravenwood's only loss this year was to a 7-5 Brentwood Academy team who lost to the DII-AAA champion, MUS, 28-0. you're welcome to your own opinion, but the results don't really back it up.
  8. who exactly did they play? no offense but brentwood never plays anyone. the one real team they did play, ravenwood, beat them. brentwood always claims to be for real, but they never are with the exception of one year, and even then they lost to Ba in one of their weakest years. brentwood always talks themslves up and lets everyone down.
  9. There is no doubt in my mind that BA is the most overrated team in the state. They have no talent and the coaching is barely adequate. If they come within 3 goals of Father Ryan I will be surprised. David Varn is probably the only D-1 player on their team, so I don't see them doing much after today. Good luck everyone. Galatians 6:13
  10. Forte from BA should have been the champion. Why did he quit?
  11. What happened to Nick Forte from Brentwood Academy? Did he get injured during football or is he just focusing on college football?
  12. How is McCallie ranked 10 places ahead of Brentwood Academy when BA beat them handily in the playoffs? BA had 5 losses but they were a very good team by the end of the year. They deserve more credit.
  13. Let me start off by saying that I don't want to take anything away from MBA because they definitely deserved to win the game. They played hard and are obviously very well coached. One thing, though, that I think every Super Seven coach will tell you is that MBA is notorious for holding, in particular their offensive line. The fact that they didn't get one holding penalty called on them last night has to mean something. At the same time, I don't believe BA had one called on them either, so it isn't as if the refs are one-sided, at least in that aspect. Don't know what my point is, just thought I'd throw that out there.
  14. Birdsong and Forte didn't face each other in the Clinic Bowl. Forte was an offensive tackle and Birdsong didn't play defense. Birdsong was also an offensive tackle, but Forte was a noseguard, meaning he was playing against the center and guards of MBA. Stephen Burris, who Birdsong was blocking, did have double-digit tackles I believe in the Clinic Bowl. In my opinion Birdsong is overrated; he's not very athletic, just big.

Neither Searcy nor Edmonds should get much playing time at linebacker. Addison doesn't have the size or speed while Searcy has them, just not the pure athleticism. Griffin and Turner would be the only players who could adequately fill the other linebacker position, and if one of them doesn't it will be a weakness this year. On the line--- Burris, Butler, Forte, Murphy, Huie, Hogan, Berry, Ralls, and maybe Blount are the only players who will be able to contribute. Anyone else would be a complete surprise, and probably a weak link. As for the kicking---Baker will be doing the punting and kick-offs, while Varn has a good chance to handle the field goals. The tight ends will be a strength, with Ralls, maybe Turner, and Loftin. Brandon Brown and Brian Wright need to develop a little more before they even think of getting serious playing time. Vanderpool will move back to tackle after a couple of weeks at tight end, but he won't play much there either. The lineup should look like this: C- Huie LG- Hogan LT- Berry RG- Burris RT- Forte TE- Ralls WR- Turner WR- Townsend/Griffin QB- Bowker/Griffin FB- White/Cason RB- Ford/Griffin DT- Murphy DT- Burris NG- Butler/Forte DE- Turner DE- Ralls LB- Cason LB- Griffin CB- Little CB- Townsend SS- Semenya FS- Garrett
