  1. That #1 ranked girl in the state from Unicoi County is Amber Campbell. She is the best in the state, but she chose not to attend the state tournament so she could attend graduation ceremonies with her friends. It was a shame that the administration didn't have enough sense to schedule around the Spring Fling.
  2. I'm not really familiar with AAU basketball, so maybe someone could help me here. I live in Northeast Tennessee, and I will turn 16 in a couple of weeks. I haven't ever heard about any AAU teams from around here. Just out of curiosity's sake, are there any teams based anywhere near Northeast Tennessee?
  3. The score was 3-1. Unicoi graduated 8 starting seniors last year, so obviously that is tough on a team, no matter what kind of streak they had going. Look for Unicoi to start a new streak next year as they will return every pitcher in the rotation!
  4. It's ridiculous to suggest that the only good hard throwing pitchers are in AAA. Your classification has nothing to do with how good you are, only how big your school is. Now if you think logically there may be more good pitchers in AAA than there is in AA or A, but that is because there are more kids who go to those schools. If you compare 1500 students to 500 students, it only makes since to have a few more talented players out of the 1500 than out of the 500. That's the only difference. Right of the top of my head, two guys who break 90, not to mention really know how to pitch, in the AA Watauga Conference are John Broyles, Unicoi County, and Brandon Summey from Sullivan North.
  5. Can someone tell me who was named to the All Watauga Conference Team? I never did see a list.
  6. Does playing high school baseball make it impossible for a player to get really involved in AAU Basketball too?
  7. The Blue Devils of Unicoi County will once again run away with the Watauga title!
  8. Ryan Corn is a sophomore at Unicoi County. He's a great shooter. When he gets hot, he can't miss.
  9. If elizabethton would beat Unicoi, why didn't they do it the first time the two teams played. Unicoi will prove themselves again when the next meeting comes around on the 20th.
  10. Don't worry about the Cyclones. Unicoi County will put them in their place again this year.
  11. This sportsmom lady sounds like an angry person. Watching a high school girls basketball game is about like watching paint dry. I don't say this as an insult. I have many friends and relatives who play and I wish them the best, but it is the truth. The boys team can not just leave their locker room to cheer for the girls team. They have to prepare themselves for their own game. You are making some unfair accusations.
  12. I am really speaking more of Northeast Tennessee. I wasn't clear the first time.
  13. I understand that Gomab is doing his best to complete a very difficult task, but there are absolutely no players on his list from east Tennessee! I agree with the others that Chucky Lindholm should definitely be considered along with many other talented sophomores from this side of the state that haven't even been mentioned yet. I can guarantee you that there are not 100 players from middle and west Tennessee that are better than every player from east Tennessee. Think about it. The obvious bias for that side of the state doesn't reconcile the lack of respect for east Tennessee!
  14. I can't believe that anyone in this state could be much better than Sade Buley. Although, this junior class is loaded with talent. All the players mentioned are fantastic. This junior class is blessed with talent on the national level as well. I hope Pat can get 6 or 7 of them signed and ready to get 4 more National Championships. Sade Wiley-Gatewood has already signed. Sade Buley, if you're out there, everybody in Knoxville and Tennessee would love to see playing for the Lady Vols.
  15. Unicoi County beat Hampton 48-31.
  16. Chad Pennington, the hottest qb in the NFL and soon to be the best, went to high school somewhere in Knoxville.
  17. He plays for the North Charleston Lowgators in the National Basketball Developmental League.
  18. What are the best summer camps for high school age players to attend? Give me as many suggestions as possible.
  19. There is no bad weather in East TN tonight! Everybody else is playing, so obviously the reason is so that kid won't have to miss. I know he didn't play last Friday night in the Carter County Classic. This is a spineless move on UH's part. That is not a valid reason to reschedule the game, so I think it should result in a forfeit.
  20. UH will win by double digits. They have the presence of Bradley inside, and good shooting from the outside. Unaka is overated.
  21. Unicoi County never gets any credit, so I'd like to point out that they won two games in the tournament, and we're the only team to hold Bradley to NO dunks. They finished in third place, but nobody wants to mention it.
  22. There are absolutely no players on this list from East Tennessee. Does gomab not pay any attention to this side of the state. I live in East TN and there are plenty of talented sophomores. I just think East TN should deserve just as much recognition as middle and west.
