Ofcourse Cookeville's girls are the team to beat. Anytime your the best team in the district at any given time, your the team to beat. Whoever's on top is the team that everyone else is trying knock off. I do believe that Cookeville's girls are # 1 in the district and just because they lose one game doesn't mean that they're not the best. They have more than just one or two good players. They have six or seven players that can play against any teams starting five. Keep it up girls, your doing great!!!

Yes, Rich Froning from Cookeville is a beast. The kid works harder than most upperclassmen and can play better. He was even diving for groundballs in the parking lot. He plays great defense and has improved his hitting in the off-season.

Cooner-who in the world said that Cookeville was complaining. We never complain, we work our tail off and have alot of talent on our team, more than most teams we face during the season. You need to watch what you say about our team, and until you or your team comes along and outplays us, keep your mouth shut. Most teams take their games for granted while we play our hearts out and earn our respect. My guess it that you dont even play or if you do, it's for a jv or freshmen team that gets no recognition. Cookeville has to work hard to gain respect and we dont complain about anything during the process. So dont bash our team until you outplay us or come and visit a practice and see how hard we work.

Coach Douglas is truly one of the best coaches in the state. Notice that I didn't say assistant coach, I said coach. Don't get me wrong, I wouldnt change a thing with our coaches at Cookeville. Coach Hunt is perfect for our head coaching job and I love playing for him. I'm just saying that Coach Douglas is a great coach that can coach anywhere. But as an assistant at Cookeville, he has my vote for best assistant in TN.

The upcoming season is a mystery in what we will be able to accomplish, but from what I can tell from fall workouts is that we've got a coach that is determined to win and win in style. Coach Hunt came in and earned the players respect for his dedication and work ethics. We know that our team will compete with the best and will prove ourselves as competitors. And for the warrior fan who hates Cookeville, your opinion doesnt matter because even you know that Cookeville outplays Sparta every time we play them. Sparta has three good players, only three. Cookeville has an entire team that we can depend on.

layup, i'm pretty sure that I dont play basketball anymore so i wasnt on the bench watching the game. I was in the stands with the same view as you and your eyes must need to be checked since Mario was triple-teamed during your half-court press that did not work by the way. Mario wasn't a flop, he had an "ok" game. I mean good lord, who expects him to score 30 every night. We dont make him out to be a god in basketball, we only express his pure and natural talent for the game. Besides who won the game again, oh yeah Cookeville did as a team. Even though our team does depend on Mario too much, he's still a teamplayer.

nthezone, how about you not run your mouth off about Mario since your team was so pathetic that they had to base their entire defense around Mario. They had to double and triple-team him all night. It's a shame that you put Mario down when our "team" won the game and your team didn't execute. It's funny how all of you put him down when he doesn't score 30 points a game because he is a teamplayer. From now on, don't say anything because your posts are pointless and annoying.

During warmups we listen to VooDoo and Bring Sally Up...It gets us pumped up early.

I know Coach Hess personally and many players on the sparta team, and I also know that Cookeville has a better team and will win on tues. And whoever said come look at our gym with all of those state tourny banners, am I mistaken or was the last two from the boys team and the girls havent done much of anything. Our girls will prove themselves tues. night and you'll see which is the better team.

I dont know who everyone is on this post, but if they truly know Mario, they know that his talents are far much better than anyone he has played against and probably anyone that would challenge him. If Mario would play his hardest for an entire game, it would be amazing to watch. He only plays to about 70% of his potential until the game is on the line and then he just takes over and dominates. And whoever said that Mario shoots too much and his shooting % is probably really low should realize that our team doesnt have too many star athletes and that they depend on Mario the entire game. Mario is the only player that will step up to the challenge when the game in on the line and he doesnt get much help when everyone depends on him to win the game every time out. I wish that everyone else would realize how much pressure is put on Mario every game. He truly is an amazing player and has more talent than anyone else out there. Keep at it Mario, those of us who truly know you, know how great you can play.

It is true that Robinson will have a good year hitting, he has always been a great athlete. I have played with him in the past and he's a clutch hitter. Hopefully he will be able to stay healthy all season. Keep working hard man, i'll see ya soon.

mtmudcat18, you must me a very educated man since you spelled Cookeville wrong in your last post. By the way, Cookeville doesn't gripe and why would it matter how many coaches we have had in the past. This is the present and the upcoming season will be one to remember.

Thank God that someone else doesn't think that the "Boro" teams are unbeatable. And why wouldn't we want to make the Warriors mad. I could care less about the so called mighty Warriors. Bring it, they're nothing more than 1 or 2 good players and thats not a team. As for Oakland, don't get me started. Blackman only has Price and he's not anything special. Sure he throw's hard sometimes but his curve hangs over the plate. Just stop talking trash and wait until the season starts. From what I've been reading, no one knows anything about any team outside of the "Boro". Your predictions are horrible. When the season comes around just be ready to bring it because you'll be surprised by every team outside the "Boro" and you'll be shocked!!!

Why is every Warren County fan crying and making excuses about losing to Cookeville. Oh yeah, because they cant except the fact that they got beat by a better team without two starters playing. Dont blame the refs for the game, blame your defense. Mario scored 30 points, he dominated your entire team and there's no one to blame except your team. You'll see the same results when we come down to your place and dominate your team on your home court. Oh yeah Sadler, be sure to bring the ref shirt.

No, I'm not going to watch what I say because I'm not scared to play anyone and I'll pitch to everyone who comes along to play us. I'll talk about anyone who talks about Cookeville, because I laugh when I read their predictions on our team. All I can say is that you'll regret what you say about Cookeville and we wont because we know what our mission is....to prove to you that we're serious and not to be taken lightly...In other words....Bring It!!!!

Oakland- no one cares about them. Riverdale- only have Smith. Blackman- cant live off Price forever. Lebanon- lebanon who? White county- only have Clouse and Rogowski but they lose focus when getting hit. Warren county- good hitting but no pitching. Cookeville- say what you want about us and your predictions are what you think, but you dont know anything about our team from what I've been reading so stop putting us down. You'll be surprised come spring, so until then just know that your opinion doesnt mean anything!!!

All I know is that we better receive a coach who works just as hard as Coach Kennedy did or harder because we deserve to get a coach who wants to win as bad as we do. Coach Kennedy worked us to death and it payed off and we did a great job. He told us that our practices and workouts would be heck and that we would hate him and it was hard but we came to respect him for his work ethics and for the friend that he was to us. We deserve a coach like him.

Coach Shanks and Coach Kennedy are both picking the next coach but are keeping it a secret. Coach Shanks was a great coach and would be a great one still but he will not coach because of his job and work schedule. He does not come out and help the team but he does come to the games and most of us have all played under him before at sometime and he knows how each player can perform so he can tell the future coach about the players.

Ok here's the whole story. Coach Kennedy has been notified by several coaches who are interested in the job but until he makes a decision on who will replace him, he will not name any coaches who have applied. We will not know until Coach Kennedy has to leave to report to his new school or until the CHS pricipal Wayne Shanks annouces who the new coach is. No one will know who the new coach will be anytime soon. When our new coach is annouced we will report his name.

I have talked to Coach Kennedy and Coach Shanks (CHS principal) and they both are trying to review all the candidates before telling who has applied and who are the front-runners for the job. All I know is that many coaches are interested but I dont know who or where they are from.

Your all right about Chaffin being a great coach but it doesn't matter what people tell him because he will not coach at Cookeville again. He built a great program in his era but he has his reasons not to coach again and I respect his decision. Coach Kennedy is staying as long as he can to help decide who will be the new coach and he will make sure that only a top notch coach will take his place.

Coach Chaffin will never coach at Cookeville again, he has declared that and will not consider the job.

This will make the 4th coach in the past 5 years with only Coach Swallows being there for 2 years but before Coach Pickett ( before Swallows ) there were only 2 coaches over a span of 18 years. Coach Kennedy will be missed because he was a great coach and will be hard to replace. Camden County got lucky and found a hard-working guy who knkows how to have fun while winning!!!

Coach Kennedy has yet to tell his team of his decision and we will be the first to know of his decision but he has been offered a job but hopefully he will stay at Cookeville.
