  3. Bruce Lawson January 2, 1954 ??“ March 3, 2009 Loudon High School lost their number one fan Tuesday as Bruce Lawson passed away. Bruce lived his whole life in Loudon and for Loudon. He was involved in all sports at Loudon High School. It didn??™t matter what sports team it was, to Bruce, they were still Redskins and he was there to support them. He was in attendance at over 2/3 of the football game in Loudon history, keeping statistics for the team in most of those. He missed only 1 game in the last 507. He had knee surgery and was unable to attend. However, he listened to the game on the radio, kept stats, and called the station at the end of the game and gave his stats over the radio. Most people didn??™t even know he was not there. He kept books for basketball and baseball, and only missed a game to go scout an upcoming opponent. Bruce was well known among coaches and by most of the referees all around East Tennessee. Bruce will be greatly missed by the Loudon High School family. There are not many true fans like Bruce Lawson. Bruce signed a poster of himself last week to be hung in the trophy case. He wrote ???Redskin Forever??? beside his name. That??™s exactly how Bruce will be remembered. There will be a memorial in the Loudon High School gymnasium from 1pm-2pm on Saturday, March 7. I know many of you know Bruce but will be unable to attend. If you would reply to this post, we will print it off and bring it to the memorial. Bruce would be very pleased to know the outpour of respect that he has received from opposing coaches and referees.

  6. How are the district seedings going to turn out? Loudon looks to be the top seed right now, but how does it go from there? Who's hot and who's not?
  7. Coach Wells is great coach and a better guy. I think this was shocking that LC played them this close this early in the year with such a young group of guys. Give Caoch Wells some time he will get the best out of his players. CA
  8. TSSAA's Rule on Classification In 2004, Classification was set for four years 2205-2006, 2006-2007, 2007-2008, and 2008-2009. At the end of the first two year period new schools can be added and schools whose enrollment had an increase or decrease by 20% will be moved. Can someone answer these questions? 1. Why was Stone added earlier than the rule states? They were classified AA on an estimated enrollment which turned out to be low. How low? Who knows? 2. If they should be added next year, will they have to give another estimation? If they have to give another estimation, they will be well into AAA numbers(997 and above). If not will they move up on the 20% rule? From what I hear they will increase by more than 20%. Especially from their original estimation of 920. If nobody complains to TSSAA, they will be allowed to stay in AA for two more years. The rule is clear. They should be AAA.
  9. Nobody is "hating" Stone. I think they have a very good basketball team and I think they would do very well in AAA. If they have AA enrollment, let them play AA. That was very questionable this year. I've heard the same thing as BBALLTN. Everybody on here knows they will have AAA numbers next year for sure. The number 1100 was a low estimate as to what they will have next year. How many seniors do they have? How many freshmen are coming in? Is that fair to be playing schools that have 600-700? Put them where they belong. If they come in with 995 next year put them in AA, but i don't see their enrollment dropping. Do you BBALLTN?
  10. The cut-off for AA is 996. Stone will be over that next year and could fall under the 20% rule for the 08-09 school year. They will be AA next year. It's amazing the difference a drop in classification can make. These same girls have lost in the sectionals the past three years. They must be thrilled to not have to play Cleveland, Bradley, and Shelbyville to get to the state. Why would they not move up next year if they are over the 20% and over 996? They will be both. TSSAA sets the rules how can they not be enforced. They are moving Liberty Tech Magnet up next year and they have 1007 students. Stone will be way over that and everybody knows it. I still believe TSSAA will do what is right. There is no way they will let Stone play AA with over 1100 students.
  11. Stone should be AAA next year. TSSAA let them come in as the biggest AA school on a prediction which was 920. They are bigger than 920. This is the second year of reclassification. If they have 20% over 920 they will move up that is what the TSSAA site says anyway. They are doing well in AA because they are much bigger than the schools they are playing against.
  12. Redskin Nation How come you don't cheer for your girls team? The "ultimate student section" would support both teams.
  13. Loudon High School needs one girls team to complete a field of eight that includes: Loudon, York, South Doyle, Grundy Co., George Washington Carver, Ocean Springs , MS., and Oakdale. We will guarantee three games and will help pay your expenses. The tournament is December 27, 28, and 29th. The Lady Vols play Notre Dame at home on December 30th. Loudon is 30 minutes from Knoxville. Contact Coach Collins at (865) 246-8567.
  14. Loudon beat AC twice last season. Was it the coaches fault that Dupree missed a 2 footer to tie the game?????
