Have him tryout at Chattanooga State on May 23. They are a nationally recognized Juco program that feeds many d1 schools. They generally only offer d1 quality players so if you get an offer there...you have that in your pocket and also know that you have d1 potential. Chatt is way better than the majority of d2 schools. I am a former scout and many of my collegues attend their practices and games. In fact Chatt only lost to Chatt Lookouts 6-5 earlier this year. Great place to grow your skills instead of sitting at a d1. I personally have not heard of the kid among my coaching circles but that does not mean he has not become a d1 prospect this year. Again have him tryout at Chatt and get an honest evaluation. They will be looking for a 1b.

Just wondering fron those around these programs...wich is the better baseball fit...tn tech or middle tn? Facilities? School? Who is the better coach to play for...Bragga or Mcguire?

Its a shame to hear Coach McCollum was let go before getting a chance at five hundred wins. However, Greenback should still be strong with returning post Kassie Knight. She is the future of this program. How do you thing she will do in her second year at Greenback?

I tried to tell you about him. I was there and this was one of the most dominating performances of year. There were 15 possible outs in the 5 inning run ruled game. Troutt struck out 13 of the 15. 2 hitter. Was told he was sitting at 85-86 with his sinker. Had to have hit 87-88 at times against a very good CAK team. Just awesome and good for him.

Troutt was unable to pitch much last year due to some tendonitis. That may have hurt his exposure. However, I do know he went on some visits this summer. Kentucky and Mississippi State showed early interest but Tennessee never called for some reason. Could have been the coaching change. Lots of Division 2 and 3 interest and offers from Tusculum and Tenn Tech. I think Chatt State is a great fit both financially as well as a great program. Going the JUCO route will also allow him to get drafted after Freshman and Sophomore Year. I am sure he would listen to Tennessee if they came calling though. I was also told Slagle and Troutt both shined during tryout at Tech but they were out of money. They truly missed out on a couple of strong lefty's. There loss I guess. Slagle is in Single A though, not AA.

Agree. Both very talented. Troutt is an all-round quality kid. Watching him on the field interact with his teammates, umpires, and the opposing team is a neat thing to see. Word on the street is that he very well liked and respected by his opponents. Not to mention the kid can really pitch. Chatt State is getting a winner.

Can someone give me a score and a breakdown of game? How did both teams look?

I know it is early and some teams still missing key players because of basketball,but how have some of the scrimmages gone? Who looked good? As always,I am sure pitchers are ahead of hitters.

Going to change my predictions after seeing a few of the teams. 1. Alcoa 2. Loudon 3. Kingston 4. CAK 5. Stone Memorial 6. Scott Alcoa has too much depth.

Anyone know who made all district for District 4 AA?

I have seen the Chiefs, Central, and Polk play now in regular season. Polk a state caliber team. Will run away with district. Central also very good and will only lose to Polk. Should easily beat Chiefs. Chiefs will have to settle for 3rd or 4th in district. Good team though but not even close to Polk.

Who has Loundon played so far in regular season and what were the scores? Looked pretty good in preseason but have not seen in regular season.
